Utility companies should be directed to protect infrastructure that is above ground. But 45 and many others decry additional regulations.<br />Homeland Security could put some skin in the game also. Or maybe there focus is purely anti-muslim.<br />Most AZ suburbs, built since 70's, have underground everything. If they can dig in that rock hard caliche, then other areas should do same. I suppose in Florida, you hit water in about a foot below grade.<br />Big problems, big money solutions.<br />We don't have the wherewithal to fix our bridges, highways, sewers etc., but if we do someday, storm hardening would not cost much more. The electrical grid is a more difficult problem with all the stuff above ground.<br />Good Blog, <br />ps Don't buy a rust free used car from the South for the next few years.
