Trump before making his final decision.
“Putin didn’t want one of those ‘too many cooks’ situations,” one Kremlin source said. “He told Trump that he would e-mail him the name a good half hour or so before Trump has to announce it to the media.”
Surprisingly, the usually brash Putin found the responsibility of choosing the next Supreme Court Justice “daunting,” sources said.
“Nominating a Justice to the United States Supreme Court is one of the most important decisions a Russian President can ever make,” Putin reportedly said.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15898532001022482469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061582353562134652.post-19357182116819003992018-07-09T16:45:28.980-07:002018-07-09T16:45:28.980-07:00The only question they were asked by DJT prior to ...The only question they were asked by DJT prior to selecting his nominee is "what are your views on indicting a sitting president?"
That is the same question the Democrats will be asking his choice.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15898532001022482469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061582353562134652.post-70021180438441465532018-07-09T13:20:08.704-07:002018-07-09T13:20:08.704-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15898532001022482469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7061582353562134652.post-57657394270729285342018-07-09T08:01:39.508-07:002018-07-09T08:01:39.508-07:00In the legal system of the United States, the Supr...In the legal system of the United States, the Supreme Court is generally the final interpreter of federal law including the United States Constitution, but it may act only within the context of a case in which it has jurisdiction. The Court may decide cases having political overtones, but does not have power to decide nonjusticiable political questions.
But you make it sound like the SCOTUS will become the legal arm of the GOP, making rulings which are in line with the conservative values espoused by the faithful.
If this is the case, the federal republic is in deep trouble and the founders will be spinning in their graves.
When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
A politically motivated Judiciary might be the tipping point.
Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15898532001022482469noreply@blogger.com
