Is now, always has been, and will be - his fault

"I hope Biden's poll numbers go down another 10 points next week. But what good will it do? We have enough brainwashed minions and Yellow Dog Democrats to vote for Biden all over again. And why is that? I have no clue. Not even close."

Interesting drive home from the campground this morning. Every gas station (except Love's on the interstate), is now selling regular gas for over $4/gal. Excuse me? This is the time of year where prices are supposed to go down, and not up. You know - that whole summer blend going away. But by going up over 40 cents in one day? And where is our collaborator in chief? In India, pitching his nonsense about man-made global warming. Meanwhile, the subjects (who at one time were citizens), are stuck here, sucking out, once again.

Ever since this career politician, who has been used by our enemies while he has abused our citizens came into office, he has been clear as a bell on one item. He wants to kill off our energy reserves. And replace it with what? Batteries? Sure, why not. In the mind of Biden, batteries are self-filling and self-renewing. The fact any battery needs to be charged with other energy escapes the simple mind of Joe Biden. Just this week, hopeless and hapless Joe canceled the rest of the leases in ANWAR. Why? Who knows.

In all my years, I have never seen an elected politician like this guy. He delights in watching the common people suffer. He does give two hoops and a holler that most people cannot afford gas over $4/gal. He does not care that most EVs are outside the budget of hard-working Americans. He does not care that our weekly food budgets have taken a huge hit since he came into office. And he does not care if parts of the country suffer under brown-outs or black-outs due to insufficient energy going through our frail electrical grids.

He did this. He did all of this. And the obsequious, sycophant Democrats were right at his side while he did it. We should be supplying our friends in the world with the energy they need. We should NOT have to buy energy from our enemies. This all makes me want to puke.

I have NEVER seen a bigger collection of morons than I have seen in Biden's cabinet. They are all idiots, every single one of them. And the two biggest idiots of all of them, are the number 1 and number 2 chairs. If you tried to gather a bigger collection of misfits, you would come up very short. This cabinet is a unique blend of individuals who exhibit inane, insipid and sophomoric tomfoolery behavior, never to be matched again.

I hope Biden's poll numbers go down another 10 points next week. But what good will it do? We have enough brainwashed minions and Yellow Dog Democrats to vote for Biden all over again. And why is that? I have no clue. Not even close.

Is the hermit joining the fray?

"Kim Jong Un may be a piece of work, but he is no more of a nut job than his daddy or granddaddy were. The apple does not fall far from the tree in the Korean Peninsula."

Interesting September, is it not? So young of a month, and so much going on. First off, we have Winken, Blinken and Nod over in the Ukraine, meeting with Zelenskyy. Why? More money of course! And what will this money be used for? Listening to Bill O'Reilly the other day, who gets his news from British sources, the war in Ukraine is a total standoff right now. Ukrainian forces cannot break through Russian lines, and Russians cannot break through Ukrainian lines. All they can do is lob thousands of 155mm artillery shells at each other. And all those artillery shells cost a lot of money.

But wait - the plot now thickens. Russia, whose inventory has also become very stretched, has now invited the hermit from North Korea to Moscow for "talks". Everybody knows what this is all about. North Korea has artillery shells - and lots of them. North Korea does NOT have enough technology, which is needed to push their nuclear and space programs forward. This is a match made not in Heaven, but in hell. The silent partners of Russia - China, North Korea and Iran, are not so silent anymore. The new axis of evil is presenting itself, and it ain't very pretty at all.

Soon, Iran will also have the bomb. Then this new axis of evil will be complete. All four nations in the axis will be nuked up. By the way - did you hear the Russians have put their Satan II ICBM fleet on combat duty? For those who do not know, the Satan II (properly named in my book), is the follow on to Russia's aging missile program. Each Satan II missile is huge - about 116 feet long and weighing 220 tons, each carries a payload of 15 warheads. It has a range of 11,000 miles.

How dangerous are these new missiles of Russia? Only in this way - Putin thinks they are so superior; they will be unmatched. Therefore, they could make a nuclear war with the West winnable. And therein lies the big problem. We have kept the nuclear genie in the bottle for decades, simply because of MAD (mutually assured destruction). To believe a nuclear war would be winnable, nullifies the concept of MAD.

As if it is not bad enough that Putin has an itchy trigger finger, little "Rocket Man" from North Korea has had an itchy trigger finger for years. What does that mean? The same thing it has meant since Russia first invaded Ukraine. It has taken the concept of nuclear war out of the Cold War closet, and put it front and center, once again. Meanwhile, what is sleepy Joe doing? Taking another vacation and telling everyone our real enemy in not this new evil empire, but rather it is climate change. What a moron!

Kim Jong Un may be a piece of work, but he is no more of a nut job than his daddy or granddaddy were. The apple does not fall far from the tree in the Korean Peninsula. To sum it up, the Norks are being led by a nut job, Russia is being led by a madman, and we are being led by someone who has dementia, narcolepsy, and lewd fantasies. Now go have a nice day.

The United States of thieves

We need to reanimate Judge Roy Bean. The hanging judge. You steal a horse - you hang. You rob a bank - you hang. You rip off your neighbor, you either get shot by your neighbor, or you hang. What? Too harsh? Sorry. Not sorry.

Heard a very disturbing thing on the news this morning. In 2022, this country's retailers lost about $90B in theft. WOW! Was that an anomaly? A "one-off"? Nope. This is a harbinger of what is to come. The thefts are expected to continue. In fact, by 2025, the amount of loss due to theft is expected to eclipse $100B. And that is not chump change.

There is an old saying in business, that somebody always has to pay the freight. Meaning, investments in anything, do not just vanish in thin air. Somebody gets stuck holding the paper. In the case of retailers who suffer large losses due to theft, insurance might cover some of it. Of course, the insurance companies are not going to suffer the loss - they will just raise their rates so the rest of us will pay. Or the retailers where insurance will not cover all the losses, will not just take it either. They will just raise prices to recover the losses. However, if the losses become too steep to recover, they will either shutter their doors, or pull up stakes and move.

I know - we have always had a small (let me say the word small once again) number of people in this country who will take what is not theirs. But as of late, since George Soros funded all these do-nothing DAs in large blue cities, it is like taking a grab bag on Halloween. Take what you want, if you want, when you want. Do it in broad daylight, do it after dark, do it anytime. Nothing is going to happen to you. Why? The new group think is people are "entitled" to steal from "the man". So, go ahead. Have at it.

In our upside-down society these days, some city leaders want to sue Kia for making cars too easy to steal. Not the thieves who steal them - they are entitled, remember? It is the product's fault. Never the perp anymore.

We need to reanimate Judge Roy Bean. The hanging judge. You steal a horse - you hang. You rob a bank - you hang. You rip off your neighbor, you either get shot by your neighbor, or you hang. What? Too harsh? Sorry. Not sorry.

We have come to that point in our country where something big needs to be done. We need a sea change in our thinking and actions. Otherwise, we will truly be known as the United States of thieves. And that is not a good look for any country.

Labor Day blues...

"For years, the only good thing about Labor Day was watching Jerry Lewis and his telethon. I grew up watching Jerry Lewis, and to still see him as an adult was refreshing."

Back in the day...Don't you just love it when some old guy starts out this way? Well, I am old, and I did. So, I continue. Back many years ago, when I was younger and the kids were small, I detested Labor Day. Had nothing to do with the origins of the day (although, I did not really understand it), it had to do with what it signified to me. And much of what it signified to me, gave me the blues.

For starters, it was the end of the Minnesota State Fair. Always a sad time. The "great Minnesota get together" was over for another year. All those crowds and excitement were gone, and walking down Dan Patch Avenue was once again as quiet and deserted as it is in the middle of January. Plus, school starts the next day in many of the school districts. The house goes from being alive with young voices, to a quiet and eerie stillness.

But the thing which really gave me the blues on Labor Day was just this - what was coming. Six months of cold, snow and misery is right around the corner. I know, I know - fall comes first, and many love the fall season. So do I, except for one thing. One day the trees are alive with color, and two days later after a stiff wind, they are naked. Halloween, which was once a big, big deal, is now a nothing burger in our neighborhood. Have not had a trick or treater in years.

For years, the only good thing about Labor Day was watching Jerry Lewis and his telethon. I grew up watching Jerry Lewis, and to still see him as an adult was refreshing. Besides all of which, I believed his telethon did some good for MDA. But then Jerry died, and so did much of his Labor Day telethon. So, what is there to watch on Labor Day? Not much. Not even football.

Hard to believe that winter is right around the corner when the temps will once again flirt with 100 degrees today. But tomorrow reality will set in, when a strong cold front slices into the state. Then we will have rain and more seasonal pre-fall temps. It will be a good time to catch up on all the summer stuff I have procrastinated on.

But - Labor Day next year will be very different. We will be in the countdown to the 2024 election day. Politics, politics all of the time. I will be fine with it. Hope springs eternal that in 2024, our long national nightmare will come to an end.

Now it gets real....

"Recent polling show that 80% of the respondents believe we are on the wrong track. The other 20% must be living in la-la land. Some people may hate Donald Trump for his mannerisms, but this Joe Biden guy, this crooked, paid for politician, has been a one-man wrecking ball to our great Republic."

During the Biden years, our borders have remained open. Not opinion, just a cold fact. Our southern border has been the big attraction. The cartels have become richer, and border states have become poorer. But as real as it has been leading up to today, now the reality of this border mismanagement has become very visible and very cumbersome. How so? New York is expecting an additional 19,000 students to flood their already overcrowded and ineffective school system. And nobody wants them.

Some people might think that adding millions of illegals into this country adds to our "diversity and inclusion". To that I say hogwash. We add to our "diversity and inclusion" by our LEGAL immigration system. Plus - here is something that nitwit Mayorkas never considers - once illegals land someplace in this country (after being bussed around all over the place), somebody needs to "pay the freight". Even our "sanctuary cities" are finding out that being a "sanctuary" is more than just a catchy motto. It is expensive, and hard. And problems come in large waves, not just with the tides.

When the local government "plants" an illegal family next to yours, what do you really know about them? Don't ask them about their past, because they probably don't trust you to know. In addition, they probably don't understand you, as they don't speak English. Are they vaccinated against all the diseased your kids have been vaccinated against? Probably not. Of course, your kids could not get into school unless you proved they were. But the illegals? They get a pass.

Do you know if your new neighbors have a criminal background? Are they terrorists? Do they belong to a Central American gang? All these are unknown, as most of the illegals have not been vetted. And we can't vet them, because Mayorkas thinks that is "racist" and unfair. Huh? So, into our "melting pot" might come some bad apples. Is that the federal government's problem? Nope - it is now your problem. Even though you did not sign up for this, your neighborhood might become one of Mayorkas' dumping grounds.

All this mayhem, just so Biden and Mayorkas can cultivate future Democrat voters. Oh, they deny this is the plan. But those are lies. This always has been, and always will be the plan. But here is the irony. Even the Democrats are starting to practice NIMBY (not in my back yard). Just look at the tug of war between Biden, Hochul and Adams. This infighting may have started out quiet and hidden, but now it is out in the open for all to see. Who wants all these illegals in New York? Good question.

Even the most stoic of my friends have become very animated when talking about the state of the state right now. Colorful descriptions of our border mayhem have been replaced with out and out invective. Truely, it is language to make a sailor blush. But why all this newfound coarseness in our lexicon? People are mad. They are frustrated. They feel helpless and used. Our government(s), instead of working for the people, are now oppressing the people. What you see happening in our wide-open borders is nothing more than Tyranny 101.

Recent polling show that 80% of the respondents believe we are on the wrong track. The other 20% must be living in la-la land. Some people may hate Donald Trump for his mannerisms, but this Joe Biden guy, this crooked, paid for politician, has been a one-man wrecking ball to our great Republic. And starting on Tuesday, the extent of some of that damage will be revealed to us. Starting on Tuesday, more of Biden's crap becomes real...

A standup guy (or gal)?

"Some may disagree with me on this point, and that is okay. Let's at least get meaningful discussions going on how to fix this. Our kids and grandchildren deserve better - better than having a dementia laced, 100-year-old president."

What is happening to all our geriatric statesmen (or women) who are sticking around way, way too long? People like Feinstein, McConnel, Grasley and Biden? Let's first look at their ages - Feinstein is 90, McConnel is 81, Grasley is 88, and Biden is a young and spritely - 80. With the retirement age in the country being somewhere between 65 and 67, all of the above folks should have been retired for more than a decade by now. So, what gives? Do they need money? Or is it just the power?

Most have probably heard by now that Mitch had another "freeze up" in the middle of saying something. Even though he has been "cleared for duty" by the docs, there is something amiss here. If that were one of my parents, I would be beyond concerned. And Feinstein - she does not even know what day it is, or what in the world she is voting for or against. She has her handlers whispering into her ear on what she should do.

But the person who is getting the most attention for his mindless ramblings, is our President. Half the time, Biden appears to not know if it is Tuesday, Thursday, or whatever. And he seldom knows where he is, and why he is there. But that is okay - Slow Joe is only the leader of the free world. And to think, he wants to run for another four years. In what universe would this be okay with anybody? Dr. Jill? What say you?

We could Article 25 Joe Biden, but then we would have the village idiot as our President. Wait - so you mean there is actually someone worse than Biden? I am afraid so. So, what do we do now? Keep Biden with all his frailties or take a chance on "word salad" Harris. This is one heck of a pickle we are in right now.

I think it is time to revisit term limits and age limits. I know, the opponents of term limits always tell us the term limiting should be at the ballot box. In theory that should work - but in today's goofy and suspect election world, strange and inexplicable things can happen at the ballot box.

In today's world with today's medicine, I think 75 is a good time to call it quits if you are serving in government. Most are still lucid and fit at 75. I also think six terms in Congress or two terms in the Senate should be enough. I mean, look at Biden. He has parlayed all his years in Washington to learn how to play the game. How to become rich via corruption. Get people in and then out of Washington, before mold starts to grow on them.

Some may disagree with me on this point, and that is okay. Let's at least get meaningful discussions going on how to fix this. Our kids and grandchildren deserve better - better than having a dementia laced, 100-year-old president.

Lord of the flies (killer)

"I often wonder if flies, ticks, wasps and hornets were invited onto the Arc, or if they stowed away. In any event, one way or another, they are here now, and are a pain."

Oh my! Am I bad, or what? Up at the campground, it is a cornucopia of all kinds of different flying things. And I am not talking about birds! We have flies in all different sizes. We have wasps galore. We even had a bald-faced hornet land on my arm last week. However, due to the Bird's cat-like reflexes, I killed him right out on his home turf. He was hard to kill however - tough little buggers.

I am armed to the teeth. For the outside, I have the ubiquitous wasp and hornet spray. Just about every store around has giant displays with plenty to go around. Over the summer, I have dispatched dozens, maybe hundreds of wasps at home and the camper. We also bought a wasp and hornet trap. It works like a charm! Coming back to the camper yesterday, we had our trap hanging from our canopy, with maybe a hundred or so corpses making a real mess of my trap.

At the start of the season, my wife and I found a "tennis racket" for killing flies on sale at Harbor Freight. These things are beyond slick! It kills them more dead that dead, because it has batteries in it which electrifies the mesh on the racket. When you hit a fly (with the power switch on), you see a flash, hear a "pop" and maybe, just maybe, you might find a small piece of the former fly. My wife still uses the old-fashioned fly swatter, but I like the new technology. When my wife thinks she has killed one, we need to search for the corpse to make sure. When I kill one with my electro death swatter, there is never a doubt!

I know. Every year it is like this in the late summer and early fall. Flies have reproduced, and there are a zillion of the small ones buzzing around. Every time I come into the camper, there are one or two which follow me in. I warn them in advance - coming into the camper is a one-way street. Death awaits them in there. They ignore me. Maybe it is because they have no ears. In any event, they soon find out I am good for my word.

I often wonder if flies, ticks, wasps and hornets were invited onto the Arc, or if they stowed away. In any event, one way or another, they are here now, and are a pain. Tonight, I am cooking up some steaks on my Oklahoma Joe tabletop grill. That should be quite a magnet for all kinds of unwanted flying pests. But don't worry - they don't call me the Lord of the fly killers for nothing! This week, between the fair and the campground, I have really earned my stripes!
