The Festering Wound

 

 

"This is oh so messy! Can't it just go away?"

This is the one issue that phony numbers will not mask. If only someone in the Administration had a magic wand and could go "poof", it could all disappear. Even though the press has long ago lost interest in this major act of terrorism, latent facts and witnesses keep popping up which keep this issue from sliding off the radar. What is it? Why Benghazi, of course.

This is going to sound bad, but I need to say it. Thank goodness the Republicans have control of the House. If Ms. Nancy still had the gavel, I think Benghazi would be as dead as last summer's flowers. The Democrats have been trying bury this "phony scandal" for years now. 

Yesterday, the top ranking CIA officer who was on the ground during the attack was to testify before the House in a closed door session. What I would have given to be a fly on the wall! Today, Michael Morell is also set to testify. What makes this one so important is this - he was the deputy director of the agency at the time of the attack. There is documented proof that he believed this attack to be premeditated and planned. In other words, an e-mail he wrote said " the attacks were not an escalation of protests." The next day Susan Rice was out with her now famous fairy tale of a poorly made video causing the mayhem. Somebody ain't telling the truth.

Anybody with a shred of common sense, can see through this canard like it was a piece of dirty glass. Lies, lies and damned lies were being told in swarms since the attacks. Why lie? Because the attack was an "inconvenient truth". It went against the grain of what the Administration was telling many of the ill-informed and low information electorate during the run up to the 2012 election. If the truth were told, we would have known we had a (gasp!) terror attack during the reign of King Barry. An honest press would have been all over this story like white on rice.

The irony of this cover-up was just three years prior, in November of 2009, we had another terror attack on our soil. This one too, has been the subject of a cover up. A Muslim terrorist named Major Nidal Malik Hasan, gunned downed 13 innocents at a clinic in Fort Hood. Scores were also wounded. During the trial, the Administration portrayed this most heinous act to be "workplace violence". You know, all that crapola about too many guns in society right now. Yet the NSA had proof this guy was dirty from the get-go and was taking marching orders from Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen.

Thank God we have some patriots in Washington that are still captivated by the truth. Lies will be exposed. Deception has played an important part in every scandal since Fast and Furious. Festering wounds that will not heal. Scabs that continue to be picked at by honest red blooded Americans. Patriots who give a damn about this great county.

In 1968, Joe McGinniss wrote a best seller called The Selling of the President. It was meant to be a slap at Richard Nixon during the 1968 campaign. I remember this well. That book could easily have been re-written and updated for the 2008 and 2012 elections. Long on fable, short on facts...and loaded with festering wounds
