The new war on ICE

 

"The ten folks whose pics are at the top, here is the bad news for them. They are now screwed for life. Once they get out of prison, this stupid act of theirs will haunt them. Good luck getting a job with a future. No, they really stepped in it this time. The civil war or civil rights they thought they were fighting for, will end up only being their Waterloo." 

What in the heck is going on here? Planning an ambush in Texas to kill some ICE officers? This is insane! The ten people who are charged in one attack, tried to kill some officers with guns. They failed (thank God) but were all caught. And now these fine upstanding folks are going to be tried for attempted murder. They are very fortunate that one lucky shot did not kill an ICE officer. Texas still has the death penalty.

You know me, I hate to get political in my blog posts. But what in the world is going on with the Democrats? Under Biden, when ICE officers were relegated to babysitters and travel agents for illegals, the Democrats had no interest in ICE whatsoever. HOWEVER - now that Trump is back in charge, the TDS crowd in the Democrat Party are seething with hate for all of them. So much so, some elected representatives have been advocating gun violence. Say what?

What is the crime that ICE officers are doing? The crime which arouses the carnal killing lust in so many left leaning and marginal youth? First off, they are all sworn officers of the law. Just another agency. Next up, they are enforcing the laws on the books. You know, the laws which were passed by Congress, which was made up of Republicans and Democrats. So, when someone in the final stages of Stage Four TDS decides to off an ICE agent because he or she hates Trump so much - they are then trying to kill a cop, who was enforcing a law passed by Democrats. Woe by onto them should they try a stunt like this in a law in order state. Especially one like Texas, where the courts will pull the switch in a heartbeat.

Somebody recently said that Republicans in Minnesota have no right to criticize the young folks going after ICE. After all, look at the political killing which recently happened in Minnesota. Here is a news flash. Republicans abhor the killing and attempted murder of Democrats. And the person that did it, if a Republican, is a ghost. Nobody has heard of this guy. If he had been active in the MNGOP, he flew way under the radar. Again, nobody stands more against political violence than the MNGOP does. And BTY - when is the last time you saw Republicans out rioting in a Minnesota street? Like, never.

We need a better system of CD sirens

"In reality, I don't care what kind of system our planners come up with. All I know is this - we need something better. A better mousetrap (so to speak). What we have now is old and outdated. Not with the hardware used - but the types of warnings given." 

Some time ago, there was a minor incident up at the Monticello nuclear plant. When they talked about it on the news, it was reported it was all under control, and there was no need for anyone to evacuate. Wait - what? What do you mean evacuate? If it had been worse, and some radiation became airborne and headed for the Twin Cities, the sirens would have gone off. What sirens? The tornado sirens? Well, those are the only ones we have.

If North Korea or some other bad actor pushes the red button, and a nuke is headed this way, how will we know? The sirens? The tornado sirens? The sirens would go off, and people would be looking outside to see the condition of the sky. When it is still blue skies, they will think it is a test of the system or a malfunction. Meanwhile, with today's hypersonic missiles, every second would count. 

The recent flood in Texas is another example. We need a warning system, that when activated, means GET OUT NOW! But if the only siren which is activated during a flash flood event is the wailing sirens which we all grew up with. When that siren goes off, people might think a rain wrapped tornado is on the way instead of flood waters. And, because they have been taught what to do when a tornado siren goes off, they might take cover underground instead of running for higher ground. 

I have thought for years we should have three types of sirens. The most common would stay - the wailing siren would be for tornados or straight-line winds exceeding a certain speed. People would hear that siren and take cover. The next would be a steady blare on the siren. That would mean an attack on the United States was imminent, and all should take cover ASAP. The third could be an intermittent blare on the siren. That would be for a radiation leak or flash flood. Hearing that siren would have people leave now. Go to an evacuation route or higher ground ASAP.

In reality, I don't care what kind of system our planners come up with. All I know is this - we need something better. A better mousetrap (so to speak). What we have now is old and outdated. Not with the hardware used - but the types of warnings given. 

These are just some random thoughts which have been knocking around in my head for years. I know we get warnings on TV, radio and internet also. But if you are outside, away from technology, you rely on the siren system. We can do better. We should do better. If not with more advanced warnings, then also the types of warnings. As I said earlier, if a nuke is headed this way on a hypersonic missile, we would have only a handful of minutes to get to shelter.   

The vicissitudes of being illegal

"Vicissitudes of fortune - that is what many illegals found out about. Played as suckers, played as fools, many gave a life's savings to a cartel mule to get them over the border. And now going back, there is no refund. No forgiving words. No nothing.  All they now know, is they are illegal in this country and must go home." 

Oh, how the invites went out, all over the world, when Joe Biden was president. Maybe not formally, but informally for sure. So much so, when the floods of migrants came storming over our border, many had a Biden t-shirt on. And where did those come from? Who paid to have those printed up? Right now, it does not matter. All that matter to those migrants, as soon as they stepped foot on our soil would be legal.

As the song goes, "Those were the days my friend, I thought they would never end...". But they did end. With the border of this great nation being erased or dissolved by severe left leaning politics, by treasonous politicians, the grand prize was just too good to be true. Step one foot in America, and it was free stuff for life. PLUS - the guy running America at that time was all in. So, they came. And came. And came. Soon, our border control and ICE forces were nothing more than a joke. Babysitters. But then came the first crack in the plan. Many of illegals who were here, were bad actors. Hardened criminals - or worse.

All of a sudden, the unthinkable happened. America had an election. The citizens and patriots of this great country, rose up against the current regime and threw them out of office. Then our wide open, everything goes border, was shut down tighter than a drum. And the worst of the worst scenarios happened to the illegals - ICE regained their constitutional footing. The deportations began. 

Donald Trump instructed his Homeland Security Department to start acting like homeland security once again. And to secure the homeland, most of the illegals needed to leave, as in if not voluntary, then deported. And the deportations began. Slowly at first, and now faster. Currently, the flow is up to almost 4,000 deportations a week. Trump wants that number up to 5,000/week, sooner rather than later.

The illegals who had fallen for the prior sophism that if you come to America, everything is free and easy, just got slapped with the open hand of realism. These poor migrants, who were played like suckers by the Democrat Party, to hopefully be allowed either legally or illegally to be reliable voters for the Democrats - were now on the escalator trip out of the country. If they did not leave voluntarily, they would be forbidden to ever try and come back - even legally.

Vicissitudes of fortune - that is what many illegals found out about. Played as suckers, played as fools, many gave a life's savings to a cartel mule to get them over the border. I am reminded of that old saying, "If something appears to be good to be true, it usually is not true". The faux invite to come to America where everything is free and easy was not true. Never was. Soon the evil perps who fabricated this cruel fable to fool these migrants will face justice in the real America. And that - is true.

 

Now, is there peace in the offing?

"Is 'peace through strength' still a viable strategy? I don't know - that ship might have sailed. Now it might be who has the throw power to turn the other guy into dust before he can do the same to us. Can we keep the dove flying and carrying that olive branch? I sure hope so. The alternative is pretty awful." 

Don't look now, but our world is a mess. A first-class mess. Why? Nobody seems to get along. Even in our country, even with the signing into law of the new BBB, people are still at each other's throats. And worldwide? Who is fighting with whom? I don't know - pick a spot. Pretty much in all corners of the world, somebody is at war, or threatening to go to war, with somebody else. As the old Yiddish saying goes - "Such is life".

Believe it or not, we have a real peacenik for a President. A "peace through strength" type of leader. Take Iran for an example. It would not have taken much convincing to get Israel to go in with us and turn much of Iran into dust. But Trump did not want to do that. He just wanted to change behaviors. Have Iran give up on their nukes. Unfortunately, it seems as if Iran did not get the message. They are still bellicose. Their proxies are still active (to a degree). Now what? Hit them harder? Have the war in the Middle East wage on?

What about Ukraine? Trump and his skilled team of negotiators have thrown everything but the kitchen sink into that mess. Putin seems committed to wrap this thing up in total victory for Russia, no matter what the price in human lives are. But to have a lasting peace, both sides have to want it. I think Putin would have his Army march into hell and back before he would agree to any peace terms other than victory.

How about in the Indo-Pacific? Has everything settled down over there. Not by a long shot. Still the world's cauldron right now. China is spatting with Viet Nam, Japan with Russia, and everybody is getting armed to the teeth. Taiwan is still ground zero for bad things which could happen. And what if they do happen? Should war break out, how big could it be? Very big. It could take up the entire region. Would the US get sucking into this conflict? Absolutely - even if Trump would try and keep us out of it, we would be all in.

Meanwhile, the nations of the Earth are buying and/or building new weaponry galore. Hypersonic, stealthy, powerful - the shopping list goes on and on. What about us? Are we taking part in this orgy of weaponry also? Oh, yes. Some of the stuff we are coming up with is beyond scary. And the BBB is loaded up with new funding to build some more.

Onward and upward to year 250

"This next year is going to be a whopper. Happy times are here again. America is better, stronger, and on a fixed course of freedom. Even though we still have some malcontents, caterwauling about how unfair this country is, their voices are slowly be drowned out. By whom? By the red, white and blue patriots and citizens."

I think I might have told this story before. Shortly after we got married, some old college friends invited us to an "America 200" party. It was at somebodies' cabin up in northern Minnesota, and for the weekend of the 4th of July, our task was to drink 200 cans of beer. In our somewhat immature twenty something minds, it was a good way to celebrate this milestone birthday of our country. But drinking 200 cans of beer between fifteen people, meant beer for breakfast, lunch, dinner and beyond. It was lunacy - but fun.

Now here we are, almost fifty years later, getting ready for the 250th birthday of this great nation. After yesterday, my thoughts were simple - how in the world could we top the 249th celebration? I mean, yesterday was a doozie. From passing the BBB the day before, signing it into law yesterday, the fly overs, the fireworks, the everything. I know our RV park got pretty wild - Americana was breaking out all over the place.

But before that happens, we already had the 250th birthday of the Army. In October, we will celebrate the 250th birthday of our great Navy. Then I took a pause to think. With all this going on, with the 250th birthday of America coming up, just look at how things have turned around in our country in less than six months of Trump's second term. The metrics are staggering good. Now with the BBB being signed, they are about to get a whole lot better.

This reminds me so much of Ronald Reagan's first term. The economy was a mess, as Jimmy Carter took his foot off the pedal (so to speak). Thus, to get things jump started, we needed to spend a lot of money in a hurry. That was then, and this is now. Much of the new spending in the BBB was remedy dollars for the almost destruction of this country under Biden. Sorry - truth hurts. But we need our border totally fixed, our defense department catching up to the Chinese, and our people having more money in their pockets to offset the Biden inflation problem.

This next year is going to be a whopper. Happy times are here again. America is better, stronger, and on a fixed course of freedom. Even though we still have some malcontents, caterwauling about how unfair this country is, their voices are slowly be drowned out. By whom? By the red, white and blue patriots and citizens.

What am I really thinking about? America is for people who love liberty and freedom. It is for people who love our flag, our heritage. To quote an old bumper sticker from yesteryear, "America - love it or leave it". Truer today, than ever before.  

 

 

Love America; Hate America

"People who love this country, I mean really love this country, will keep it going. America haters are a puzzlement. I read recently that living in a country you hate is like hating your parents and still living in their house. Go figure."

It really saddens me to say this. After the "vote" which allowed the BBB to become law, I heard from both sides of the aisle. The folks who knew this would be a good deal for families, national defense, and Homeland Security - were ecstatic. Especially the seniors, who have been "taking it the shorts" for years. Why? You have bone headed governors like Tampon Timmy of MN who refuses to give seniors a break. Thus - seniors have to rely on a parsimonious COLA at best. Sad.

But on the other side of the equation, are the Trump haters. Who somehow, have morphed into America haters. This BBB, even with the good things in it, was toxic. If you supported this bill, you were an idiot, and a selfish idiot at that. Why? The illegals getting kicked off of Medicaid. Who will care for them? My answer was simple - they should have NEVER been on Medicaid to start with to start with. Who will care for them? Their home countries, once they are returned.

One of my RINO FB friends' sigs his Democrat posse on me every time I respond to something he has posted. Some of these Democrats are drunk on the bathwater the Democrats have fed them. They won't listen to reason - they hate this country and hate Donald Trump even worse. This bill was horrible, even though it will help those on both sides of the aisle.

When I hear the Democrats in the RINO's posse try and make me (us) feel guilty, I almost smirk. Do we care for the illegals once they get to their homeland? Sure. Americans are the most compassionate people in the planet. But they are the ones who love to give help - not the inefficient government which is bloated with fraud, waste and abuse. Truthfully, most of the Democrat givers I have known in my life have been skimpy. Al Gore gave less than $500/ year to his church. To listen to preaching from people who don't give is insulting.

Economics - working and eating and stuff

"It is time America, to awaken from this slumber. Get back to work. Do something honorable by participating. If you can work - then work. If you can't work for medical or age reasons, that is okay. We have programs for folks like that. But we need to bring back our old adage from yesteryear - 'Hungry? Want to eat? Then get a job.' It really is as simple as that."     

Saw an interesting article on the news yesterday (no, it was not Fox - it was one of the alphabet stations). It seems the nearness of the BBB (Big Beautiful Bill) has brought out the panic merchants in full display. This article I watched was on how "cutting" SNAP benefits would gut many county budgets. But because this article was on a Trump hating alphabet station, you needed to read between the lines to get to the truth.

Are SNAP benefits going to be cut? To a degree, but mostly some of the SNAP responsibility will be transferred from the federal to the state and county level. Why? The closer money gets to the end user or the end payers, the less chances of fraud, waste and abuse. Moneys spend at the federal level are like a cherry tree of goodies. Nobody is watching the store. But will some lose benefits? Yes - those who can work but won't work. Those who are not supposed to be in this country (illegal aliens).

After seeing this article, I started to ponder our current existence. Like, why is it when I go to any store on any day of the week, it is always like Saturdays of old. In other words, why are there so many people out and about, who are working age, and not working? Where do they get the money to survive? Is it the sugar teat of the federal government, which has now been trained to feed all no matter what their circumstances are?

Here is the truth of the matter. Besides still having millions of illegals in the country right now, we have millions of work age, healthy men, who are not working. Our workplace participation rate is still in the low sixty percentage range. If you are not working, how do you live? How do you eat? Pay your bills? Afford your I Phone and internet? I mean, if you can eat, live and play without working, who wants to work? Let Uncle Sugar pay for everything! The only problem is Uncle Sugar is broke and deeply in debt. But who cares? Let our kids and grandies figure it out some day.

We are a capitalist country, not a socialist country. Hear that, Zohran Mamdani? WE ARE NOT SOCIALISTS AND SHOULD STOP ACTING AS SUCH! Our country has thrived on people living the Great American Dream. Build a better mousetrap and make a fortune. Getting rid of fraud, waste and abuse is a noble venture. Kicking illegals out of this country, and on the way out, show them the legal way to come back into this country - is also noble. 

It is time America, to awaken from this slumber. Get back to work. Do something honorable by participating. If you can work - then work. If you can't work for medical or age reasons, that is okay.
