"If you know someone who has had an abortion, think kindly of that person. Often times, that person is just as much a victim as the baby who was aborted. The evil which needs to be eviscerated is the deed itself - as well as our blind acceptance of it."
There is a blight on our land. An emptiness. A void. People of faith know what it is. Others know what it is, but have been able to reconcile it, or put it out of the mind. Of all the good things this country does now, or has done in the past, this is not one of them. This is the worst thing. It is evil. No other word can describe it. And it is becoming more evil all the time.
It is the killing of our youth, our unborn. Sanctioned by our government, upheld by our courts, we have made abortions available to anyone who wants them. Starting out safe, legal and rare, abortions are now inches away from infanticide.
I know many grow weary of hearing about the evils of abortion. It is almost as if we have become numb to the heinous attribute of the process. But then a movie like Unplanned comes out, and takes that safe space away. This is a movie which can cause uncanny discomfort. Why? It take you up close and personal with abortion. The thousands of cold blooded murders, we perpetuate on the unborn each and every week.
Hollywood tried to destroy this movie by giving it an "R" rating before the first showing. For what? Language? Sex? No and no. Then what was it? It was a real abortion, live and in color. Why show it? So people can see what it really looks like. To watch this very small living fetus, fight for its life, while a doctor rips it apart. Was it hard to watch? Big time. But it was a pivotal point in the movie. The film makers could have left it out, and taken a PG rating. But his gruesome scene was vitally important. I know it shook me to the core.
When we left the theater, my wife and I spoke very little. I finally asked her, "How did we get to this place? Where abortion, the killing of our unborn, is so commonplace?" Abortion has blended in with our landscape. Why is this not looked upon for what it is? Infanticide. Pure and simple murder of the unborn.
Who should see this movie? Quite simply, everyone. Pro-choice, Pro-life, and everyone in between. If you don't believe that Satan is roaming our land right now, you will after seeing this movie. It had good and evil, both defined in the clearest of ways.
If you know someone who has had an abortion, think kindly of that person. Often times, that person is just as much a victim as the baby who was aborted. The evil which needs to be eviscerated is the deed itself - as well as our blind acceptance of it.
The victims of this vile act are legions. The healing which needs to happen is beyond measure. But first things first. We need to stop all abortions. Now. Once we do that, it will be time to get on our knees, and ask God for forgiveness.
We ask for forgiveness - forgiveness for killing God's most precious creations. Over 50 million innocents murdered since Roe v Wade. Each one a unique soul. That is going to take a lot of forgiveness.
If you know someone who--as the expression goes--"needs killin'," just tell any questioning lefties that it was a "retroactive abortion." They seem conditioned to respect the A-word.
