Canada, friend or foe?

"Here is the ugly fact of life for the Canadians to understand. And Trump knows it, but the Strib does not. Canada needs us much more than we need Canada. Fact. Canada can play ball with us, or be on the outside looking in." 

Typical article in the Strib this morning, bemoaning our relationship with Canada. Again, typical of this liberal rag, rather than telling the entire story, they wanted to put the blame for this chill in our relations at the foot of the White House. Why? Because Trump called Carney out on his confiscatory trade practices with us? Or was it the smoke? In any event, the story told by the Strib was slanted and mostly untrue. Why? Read on.

I have addressed this before. Canada has become bifurcated. Both geographically and politically. The freedom lovers, the western folks - they love the USA, and they really love Trump. The statists on the other hand (the eastern folks) they have about had it with us, and they REALLY hate Trump. Why? They miss the lapdog Biden. Biden let Canada roll all over us, and Canada loved it. Trump called on them to be fair traders and partners, and Canada refused. They hate the fact that Trump did that.

The Strib pointed out that the (eastern) Canadians have about as much love for us as they do China and Russia. Really? Did the paper point out (like Trump did yesterday), that we are sharing our Golden Dome with Canada? No? I didn't think so. This is a gift that is worth its weight in gold. And did the Strib point out that we pay almost 300% tariffs on our dairy products to Canada? No? Didn't think so. The Carney crew in eastern Canada are a bunch of spoiled little kids. They don't like Trump being the adult in the room.

The Strib was also insulted that Trump teased Trudeau about Canada being our 51st state, and little Justin being the governor. Hello? It was a joke, for crying out loud! But Canada got its undies in a wad and sulked. Wah, wah, wah. Meanwhile, the western part of Canada can't get away from these eastern statists fast enough. If they could join our union tomorrow, it would not be fast enough for them.

Here is the ugly fact of life for the Canadians to understand. And Trump knows it, but the Strib does not. Canada needs us much more than we need Canada. Fact. Canada can play ball with us, or be on the outside looking in. Our relationship with Canada will never be as it was before - with them taking us for a ride. That is, unless we lose the 2028 election, and we get another Biden Democrat in the White House.
