Death of the Minimalist

"It is time for John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and all the other left wing globalists to shut the hell up and let President Trump fix what is broken. He will broker deals with maximum value to the United States instead of minimal security to the world. Count on it."

Relax Baby Boomers - this has nothing to do with downsizing.

Back in the day (the Reagan years), when as a negotiator, my team and I were busier than a one armed paper hanger, we often talked about doing a prank before we all retired. In just about every negotiation, you could rest assured that the opening offer from the other side of the table would a a "low ball". The looks of anguish would then spread across my team, as we knew the road ahead to settlement would be rocky and steep.

But the prank (which unfortunately we never got to pull off) was this. As soon as the first offer came in, no matter how low and ridiculous it was, my team was going to stand up and high five each other. Then I would look at the other negotiator in the eyes, and say, "We accept!" It would be worth it, just to see the look of shock in the eyes of my opponent.

On a serious note, that kind of negotiation does have a name. It is called the "minimalist" outcome. Ergo, John Kerry's Iran deal. Minimalist to the core.

Donald Trump may be a lot of things, but he is no minimalist. Not by a long shot. Once he assumed the big chair, and could read the fine print on this deal, he asked what any negotiator worth his or her salt would ask? What was in it for me? And as we have found out, what was in it for the US was not much. What was in it for Iran was a King Midas gold mine.

Even though the MSM is convinced President Trump's abrogation of this minimalist agreement will take us to the brink of Armageddon, Bebe Netanyahu thinks Mr. Trump might have just saved the Middle East. I too, fall under that camp. It is time to call a spade a spade. Iran is not worthy of trust. Not even enough to put in a thimble. Kerry and some of his globalist brethren in the Euro Zone may have been waltzed around the maypole by the Mullahs, but not Team Trump.

What is next? President Trump first signed back into law the sanctions against Iran we had before the agreement. And there might be more coming. He then made the offer to strike a new deal, a fair deal, with the Mullahs. In other words, he put the issue squarely in Iran's lap. He would like our NATO allies in be in with us, but if they are not, Trump is ready to do this with only Israel and maybe the Saudis.

I truly don't understand why some can't see the wolf dressed up in sheep's clothing. I can't believe some would be that naive. I have said for years now, the two biggest threats in the world are the Norks and the Mullahs. Neither are worth of one grain of trust. Both have ill intentions. Both could set the world on fire in a heartbeat.

It is time for John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and all the other left wing globalists to shut the hell up and let President Trump fix what is broken. He will broker deals with maximum value to the United States instead of minimal security to the world. Count on it.

Fixing a real mess

"I am ready to offer these guys plow shares to disarm and play nice with the others in their neighborhood. By the same token, I am also ready to show them our sword. And I know Bebe is also ready to show his sword."

Hats off to our Commander in Chief. Nobody will ever accuse him of not having a pair. That is, unlike the guy before him. This "thing", this agreement with Iran was never a treaty, never approved by Congress. It was put together by the "America hating" John Kerry, who had no problem working with this den of vipers called Iran.

Okay - now do you want to know how I really feel? I am pissed! And I am angry, even for the Very Angry Bird. I am still mad as hell at this Iranian regime for what they did to us in the 70's and into 1980. How under Jimmy Carter, this band of thugs, made us look weak and impotent. Since then, they have not changed. They have only become worse and more dangerous. But we have changed.

Kerry may have been as naive as a first grader, but the rest of us are not. There are many patriots in this country with long memories. Those who remember the debacle of Desert One. In April of 1980, our President (at that time Carter), who had orchestrated the neutering of our military, tried to cobble together enough helicopters and trained pilots to sneak into Iran to rescue our hostages. From a bunch of trained terrorists? Nope. From a bunch of disenchanted and fanatic Islamic college kids.

At the end of that fateful April day in 1980, one helicopter lay in ruins, and eight brave Americans were dead. Died under hostile fire? No - they died due to severe cuts in the military, which made an already risky maneuver even more risky.

Iran under the Mullahs, and Iraq under Saddam, loved to call the US the Great Satan. That is fine - sticks and stones. Saddam felt the wrath of a post-Carter military - twice. Once in Desert Storm, and once in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Mullahs never have felt it. They have been lucky so far. That luck might be running out.

Iran may hate us, but they are still a clear and present danger to Israel. To quote Bebe yesterday, "Dealing with Iran will be a lot easier today than it will be down the road." Amen brother. Iran does not yet have a nuke. But that is only months away.

It is time to have all our NATO partners (save Turkey), travel to Israel and view the intel the Israelis managed to get out of Iran. It is very important for all to know. Then they need to put on their big boy pants. Iran, although large in land mass, is puny in economic strength. Economically, they are about the same size as Maryland. We are huge economically, and so our our partners. We need to, with the help of our strong allies, to put the screws on Iran like never before.

One more thing. We need to make sure we are on the right side of history. Israel has been war planning for Iran for many years now. If they have to go it alone, they will. Why? It is they with the target on their backs. They live in Iran's neighborhood. Iran has pledged total destruction of Israel many times.

President Trump. Your legacy sir, might not be this roaring economy you promised us. It might be fixing two very hot messes. The Korea thing is coming along fine. The Iranian thing might be coming to a head.

I am ready to offer these guys from Iran plow shares to disarm and play nice with the others in their neighborhood. By the same token, I am also ready to show them our sword. And I know Bebe is also ready to show his sword.

And if the worst happens...?

"The only advice I have for the Democrats is simply this - come up with a real platform for winning. Undoing a fair election by the voters in not that winning strategy."

Saw an interesting panel discussion last night on the never ending "Russia-gate". How even if this continues to be a "nothing burger", there is something much more sinister waiting in the bushes. Something which could suck the life out of a Trump presidency. Hint: It has nothing to do with wrong doing or influence peddling with Vladimir Putin.

Since there will never be any real high crimes or misdemeanors against Donald Trump, all it will take to unseat him is for the Democrats to take the House, and more importantly, the Senate. The worst kept secret in Washington right now is this. If the "Blue Wave" happens, and the House and Senate truly do fall into enemy hands, impeachment and then trial by Senate will be the first, second and last item on their legislative agenda. The "smartest people in the country" are going to fix what those confused voters visited upon us in 2016.

Okay - I will bite. Let's just for a moment suppose that happens. Here is my soothsaying on what I see following:

  • President Pence - He would be coming in like a lion. First off, he would not be a happy camper about getting the top job this way. He is intensely loyal to Donald Trump. So he will be loaded for bear with the bastards who got rid of his boss. Would the "Blue Wave" try to take care of Pence also? Good luck on that one. Mike Pence is about as squeaky clean as they come. President Pence would continue on what Donald Trump started, and then some.
  • Patriot Uprising - If it is a civil war the Democrats want, they might just get it if they impeach and convict this President. Why? Donald Trump heard the message from the masses and was able to craft that message into a campaign. I have said this before, but it bears repeating. Donald Trump is not a Pied Piper who the uninformed blindly follow. He is the team leader of a very large red team who feel as strongly, or more, on cornerstone issues.
  • Wilderness for the Democrats - The surge in red state voting in 2016 will be NOTHING like the surge in red state voting in 2020 and beyond. Many millions will remember this injustice. They will make sure the door is shut on the Democrats and they can just go PC themselves to death while wandering in irrelevancy.
Anyhow, that is the take from the Bird's Perch this am. On the brighter side, I think this Mueller thing will just start to die a slow death. Trump's legal team will keep him from stumbling into any kind of legal eagle perjury trap. And more importantly, the once strong numbers for the "Blue Wave" to sweep over Washington are not a robust anymore. Right now the betting is a loss of some seats in the House (but the Republicans maintaining control), and maybe status quo in the Senate.

The only advice I have for the Democrats is simply this - come up with a real platform for winning. Undoing a fair election by the voters in not that winning strategy.

Clown town - once again

"I really am ready for the Twin Cities to do what some in California want to do - become a separate country. Heck, they might as well. They sure don't act like the rest of us."

When I was in the service, and someone asked where I was from, I often replied Minneapolis. Even though I really was from Robbinsdale, most everyone knew where Minneapolis was. Back then, I was proud to say so. Today when asked, I say I live just northwest of the Twin Cities. And today, to say the words "Twin Cities" is very hard for me to do. These once great cities have been reduced to nothing but clown towns.

The Democrats, who became progressives, who now proudly call themselves socialists in growing numbers, have taken a sledge hammer to both towns. They have formed an oligarchy in both city governments. In other words, Republicans need not apply. Both towns have also been PC'd to death. The most popular lake in Minneapolis has been renamed to something very few can pronounce or spell. Why? The previous name was given after Vice President Calhoun. But he was bad. A zillion years ago, he owned slaves. Well, guess what? A zillion years ago, many folks owned slaves. Including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

Last week was a banner week for Minnesota. We made national news. John Marty, a favorite son of St. Paul and Ramsey County, stood up in the Minnesota Senate and told all he found God offensive. He did not want "In God we trust" on the money in his pocket nor on all public buildings. Why? Because Marty typifies the current resident in the bowels of Hennepin and Ramsey Counties (home of the Twin Cities).

The early settlers, the strong willed and faithful Norwegian Lutherans, Finnish loggers and Germanic farmers, have been replaced by today's snowflakes. And trust me, there are more snowflakes in the Twin Cities than what lies on the slopes of Aspen.

I have said this before. It really does seem that to fit into the Twin Cities these days, you must be a socialist, maybe a communist, an agnostic, or an all out atheist. To be anything but in the Twin Cities, puts you in the "one off" category.

Do I hate Minnesota? Not a bit. With the right Governor, House and Senate, we can bring the state back from the brink. However, the Twin Cities are lost. The clowns in clown town have taken way too many blue pills to save them.

Bottom line? I really am ready for the Twin Cities to do what some in California want to do - become a separate country. Heck, they might as well. They sure don't act like the rest of us.

et tu Carole?

"If you want a "talker" as Governor, we can find many of those. But if you want a person to get under the hood and fix what ails Minnesota, I think Carol has the right idea. I know for a fact, as clear as a bell, Jeff is the right person at the right time for Minnesota. All we need do is give him our votes."

Ouch! Talk about a knife in the back. Or is it the heart? In any event, Governor Pawlenty's # 2 person, his Lieutenant Governor, has decided the view of Minnesota this year is better from Team Johnson than Team Pawlenty. Yes, Carol Molnau is not only joining Team Johnson, but she has signed on to be one of his advisers. Ouch Tim! That one might leave a bruise!

So, what is the matter with Carol? Did she take a long walk off a short pier? Is she delusional?. Mistaken? Or has she just found that eight years of Tim was enough. That a new wind is blowing in Minnesota. Change is in the air. Don't think so? Look at what is starting to happen in the St. Paul legislature. Changes, all be them small.

When I have asked some of our representatives whom I trust what is going on in St. Paul this session, the answer is most always the same. They are doing the best they can with a obstructionist Governor. "Give us a true conservative Governor in 2018, and things will really happen!". I totally agree with that. And who is that conservative Governor? I think the record, the ideas, speak for themselves. Jeff Johnson is the change agent we need. If we end up with a purple Republican or Tim Walz as our Governor, we are screwed right into the ground. Minnesota will continue its march towards becoming another California.

One of Jeff's cornerstone philosophies is we can do better. It is indeed possible to do more with less. Ending taxation without representation. Making Minnesota an "open for business" tax friendly state. Having Minnesota be a haven for seniors, rather than driving them out by taxing their Social Security. Looking at every single tax payer funded program in Minnesota. The ones which are redundant, supercilious or just plain useless - sunset them immediately.

If you want a "talker" as Governor, we can find many of those. But if you want a person to get under the hood and fix what ails Minnesota, I think Carol has the right idea. I know for a fact, as clear as a bell, Jeff is the right person at the right time for Minnesota. All we need do is give him our votes.

Church? Where art thou?

"One more time. It is time for the church to become the church. I mean a Holy Bible teaching church. Would that solve all our problems? Nope. But most of them I suspect."

I really love (not) the Loony Left. I love (not) how they manage to twist and tort everything which is good in our country. A good example you ask? The First Amendment. They have taken a bedrock principle of our founding - freedom FROM (a state mandated) religion, and twisted it into "freedom from any religion". Ergo, we have kicked God out of the schools. In addition, many of the progressives and socialists on the Left have shown a disdain for the Holy Bible. They really do dislike the fact the Holy Bible has rules. But what many really hate is this - the fact that Jesus is the only truth and the way.

But - when it comes to cornerstone issue such as the sanctity of life (abortion), the church (for the most part) takes a pass. Seems like only some Catholic parishes are on-board with protecting God's most innocent creation. And this is where the real evil comes in. I know some practicing Catholics who put more faith in the Democratic platform than what the churches teaching is on the sanctity of life. However, It gets worse. Lutherans, Methodists, Baptists, non-denominational - they are all weak kneed, and mostly silent on this most important issue.

I have addressed this before. I will do it again. NOW is the time for the church to be the church (once again). Was the church ever intended to be comfortable place? Sometimes it was intended to be not only uncomfortable, but dangerous. it was also intended to be a place to be a place of worship, and then become trained and anointed. Why? So one could go out in the world and practice what Matthew 28 commanded us do to. If you don't know what that is, ask your pastor or priest to preach on it.

I don't want to bring the church, nor our faith, into the political spectrum. But I will say this. If we all truly practiced what the red ink really taught us in the New Testament, our political differences would be reduced to a trickle. But according to what the Word teaches, the road forward is not easy. It is difficult with difficult choices. Our Founders, for the most part, were deep in their faith. They knew our path would be hard and steep, but ever so worth it. And they wove that into our documents.

Now talk like a Senior Pastor - "Come on Church - let's go!". We can help the least of us, and protect the unborn at the same time. We can recognize our natural or God given rights, without assigning them to any government. A true church would stand behind our Bill of Rights and our Constitution. More importantly, a true church stands behind the God breathed anointing of the Holy Bible.

One more time. It is time for the church to become the church. I mean a Holy Bible teaching church. Would that solve all our problems? Nope. But most of them I suspect.

Time to lower the boom!

"As an American, as a patriot, I am appalled what has happened to our country during the past ten years. Democrats have gone from the loyal opposition, to progressives, to socialists to out and out anarchists. We need to fix this and fix it quick. If not, I see a bad moon rising."

Anybody right now who thinks the Deep State is a figment of someone's imagination is either delusional or dense. In my many decades on this planet, I have never seen anything like this. Seriously, I have not. It is like we have two governments, one legitimate and one shadow. And whosoever dumb ass idea it was to chase this ghost called "Russian collusion", and to waste millions of dollars and months of everyone's time, should be put in shackles in the town square and scorned. We have a much, much bigger problem which nobody is addressing.

I almost fell out of my chair last night when the news came across that John Kerry has been meeting with the Iranians to "try and save this most important agreement". And by the way, this story did not come from some right wing hit piece. Nope. It came from the Boston Globe. Plus the timing on this was oh, so interesting. Right after the Mossad had smuggled out of Tehran this treasure trove of intel about what a sham this agreement has been since the get-go, we find out Kerry is playing for the other team.

What do I want right now? I want Jeff Sessions to get off his dead ass and start throwing the book at some of these Deep Staters.  He can start with the very haughty John Kerry. Charge him violating the Logan Act. The Logan Act? What is that? Believe it or not, it has been on the books since 1799. It is very simple: "The Logan Act is a federal law which criminalizes negotiation by unauthorized persons with foreign governments having a dispute with the United States."

Did you notice the word "criminalizes" in the Logan Act? By my thinking, that would make Kerry a criminal. However, I will take that one step further. I think he has been a traitor ever since he came back from Viet Nam. If in fact he did have unauthorized talks with the most notorious agent state of terror in the world, he should be tried for treason. Plain and simple. He is no better than the Rosenbergs.

On May 12th, I want President Trump to rip up this Iranian Agreement. Rip it up on live TV,  in pieces smaller than confetti. Then give Tehran one final chance to negotiate a valid agreement. And agreement with total transparency for validation and verification. If they refuse, we will put the screws to them 10 times harder than we did to the Norks - or worse.

As an American, as a patriot, I am appalled what has happened to our country during the past ten years. Democrats have gone from the loyal opposition, to progressives, to socialists to out and out anarchists. We need to fix this and fix it quick. If not, I see a bad moon rising.
