Clown town - once again

"I really am ready for the Twin Cities to do what some in California want to do - become a separate country. Heck, they might as well. They sure don't act like the rest of us."

When I was in the service, and someone asked where I was from, I often replied Minneapolis. Even though I really was from Robbinsdale, most everyone knew where Minneapolis was. Back then, I was proud to say so. Today when asked, I say I live just northwest of the Twin Cities. And today, to say the words "Twin Cities" is very hard for me to do. These once great cities have been reduced to nothing but clown towns.

The Democrats, who became progressives, who now proudly call themselves socialists in growing numbers, have taken a sledge hammer to both towns. They have formed an oligarchy in both city governments. In other words, Republicans need not apply. Both towns have also been PC'd to death. The most popular lake in Minneapolis has been renamed to something very few can pronounce or spell. Why? The previous name was given after Vice President Calhoun. But he was bad. A zillion years ago, he owned slaves. Well, guess what? A zillion years ago, many folks owned slaves. Including George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

Last week was a banner week for Minnesota. We made national news. John Marty, a favorite son of St. Paul and Ramsey County, stood up in the Minnesota Senate and told all he found God offensive. He did not want "In God we trust" on the money in his pocket nor on all public buildings. Why? Because Marty typifies the current resident in the bowels of Hennepin and Ramsey Counties (home of the Twin Cities).

The early settlers, the strong willed and faithful Norwegian Lutherans, Finnish loggers and Germanic farmers, have been replaced by today's snowflakes. And trust me, there are more snowflakes in the Twin Cities than what lies on the slopes of Aspen.

I have said this before. It really does seem that to fit into the Twin Cities these days, you must be a socialist, maybe a communist, an agnostic, or an all out atheist. To be anything but in the Twin Cities, puts you in the "one off" category.

Do I hate Minnesota? Not a bit. With the right Governor, House and Senate, we can bring the state back from the brink. However, the Twin Cities are lost. The clowns in clown town have taken way too many blue pills to save them.

Bottom line? I really am ready for the Twin Cities to do what some in California want to do - become a separate country. Heck, they might as well. They sure don't act like the rest of us.

  1. Just like California, which just surpassed the United Kingdom as as the worlds fifth largest economy, the Twin Cities metro area remains the state's prime economic engine, providing most of the state's tax revenue.
We snowflakes provide the income for all those rural roads going nowhere and everything else spent in the hinterlands. Without us, the state would just be another Midwest fly-over chunk of land.
I believe research has shown that when confronted with facts that contradict one's political beliefs, the tendency is to dig in, rather than re-examine.
So I say unto you, my suburban brother....
Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

  2. (Mike here) Oh, just like California, huh, Jane Gjrdingen?? RI.....GHT. The place that protects illegal criminal aliens....the place that has the worst quality of life in America....the liberal Utopia that is witnessing a mass exodus (gee, I wonder why that is??).... the land of Moonbeam and Pelosi where the streets are littered with the homeless and their feces....the tech company hotbed where Maxinne Watters has threatened to "hit them over the head" if they don't hire who she wants them to hire....where obscure fish take precedent over people's right to water and survival....where socialism rules....where free speech is becoming a distant memory................Man, sure sounds like a beautiful place. You liberals do such a good job of destroying everything. Hey, I "love life and want to see good days," but you damn liberals ruin all that you touch. You're stinkin' poison. Proof: CA, NY, IL,...............and soon to be MN should you get your way here too.

  3. California is the chief reason America is the only developed economy to achieve record GDP growth since the financial crisis of 2008 and ensuing global recession.
Much of the U.S. growth can be traced to California laws promoting clean energy, government accountability and protections for undocumented people.
In the stock and bond markets, where investors show no allegiance to political parties, California has outperformed the rest of the U.S. the past five years, especially since the election.
Behind such a favorable outlook is the diversity of the California economy, which grew $42.3 billion during the first three quarters last year. That's almost as much as the next two fastest-growing states, New York and Florida, combined.
The capitalist juggernaut that is California helps explain why the state's per capita income increased 9.5 percent since 2015, the most of any state and the most since 2012.
They are proudly enacting policies in opposition to Trump's. The legislature became the first to vote to become a sanctuary state, and supported raising gas taxes and vehicle registration fees to improve infrastructure. While Trump gets the lowest approval of any president and the Republican Congress does worse, the politics of California are the opposite.
57 percent of California's registered voters approve of the legislature's job performance. Brown gets 61 percent approval.

If that's a "mess," Trump could only hope for more of it.

  4. We're having a cookout at our house.
Celebrating the tenth anniversary of Donald Trump's Russian money laundering real estate activities.
This will be his downfall, once Mueller gets the final financial information he needs.
Should be before year end. Right after the mid-term elections.

  5. (Mike here) What a good little socialist you are, Gjerdingen. You're a perfect "useful idiot." Tell me, Gjerdingen, where the hell do you live, and what the hell do you do for a living?? For me (in full disclosure), I have lived and worked primarily in WI and MN, but have also lived and worked in Canada and Europe. I've been in the motorsports and racing world my entire life. And I can prove it all. So for you to sit there and tout Moonbeam's accomplishments over Trump's makes me question your sanity. But hey, I know how mental liberals really are. I sure hope you live in CA or Canada. That's where you belong. And I sure hope you're on welfare. That would be the only thing that makes sense. But go ahead, Gjerdingen, be honest and give your background as I did (and try not to lie like you liberals always do). It's hard to believe you're for real. But then again, we have the "Bernie's" who walk and live amongst us. And I'll bet ANYTHING that the self-avowed socialist was your first pick. But too bad for you that your Hillary rigged the election for herself. Better luck next time. One more thing, Gjerdingen, how much do you want to bet that Trump NEVER succumbs to the "downfall" you liberals are so praying for?? Nope. You liberals are going to keep losing. Kanye, Chance, and the rest of America, are on to your S***.

    2. If I may enter my two cents worth. It is been over a year or two that Dave and I "bumped into each other" via my blog. He is correct - occasionally I would pick up tidbits about Dave's past. First and foremost, here is how I describe Dave Gjerdingen - he is a friend. Yes, he and I will go to the mat quite a bit over most political differences. But I have found Dave to be very smart and very informed. Plus, he is a brother in arms, and I respect the hell out of his service to this great country. Dave had mentioned quite a while ago, that he had lost a son. I did not know until his post on this article it was due to a MC accident. He is the second friend I have who has lost an adult son to a MC accident. As a parent, my heart goes out to both of these fathers. I know it is wound which never really heals. In any event, I love hearing from Mike, Dave, Jerry, Gary and the dozens of other friends who respond to my posts or articles. I learn from all. Politics or otherwise.

    3. (Mike here) Thanks for the response, Dave. Didn't catch it till right now. I have lots to cover with you, but it'll have to wait. I'll be gone till the weekend. If you will, in the meantime, please tell me where Trump is going wrong (according to you). And please focus primarily on: 1--Economy and unemployment. 2--National security. 3--Border security. 4--Foreign policy. 5--The rebuilding of our military. No need for long, drawn- out explanations. And keep it focused.

    4. I respectfully decline.
This is VeryAngryBirds Blog, and my comments should reflect and be limited to the contents of an individual blog, not my concerns about the failings of our current President.
I'm sure if you follow along, opportunities will arise to reply to my comments, when appropriate.

    5. (Mike here) "Respectfully decline" or can't?? You disparage Trump and hammer the boy all day long, but refuse to explain why. I'll take that as a Trump win. You liberals need to lay out your case, or you simply have no credibility.
