"It seems that everything that could go wrong, is going wrong - and all at the same time!"
At one time I referred to this Administration as the "gang who could not shoot straight". That was wrong of me. And for that I apologize - to the gang that is. You see, at least the "gang who could not shoot straight", could shoot. This crowd in Washington does not even know which end of the gun to use.
I almost feel sorry for the Democrats coming up this very important election. The Party of Government, does not have a very good poster child right now. We have a world class mess in Iraq. Because our current President was so anxious to be the "Anti-Bush", he could not leave that country fast enough - in total. Well, as the expression goes, "he managed to grasp defeat out of the jaws of victory." If we had left a residual force (and intelligence assets) in Iraq, we would not have ISIL causing chaos in that country. Thank goodness SOMEONE talked some sense into him, so we would not make the same mistake in Afghanistan.
Here it is only Wednesday, and it is turning out to be a very bad week indeed. To further reinforce the notion that our President is "disconnected", we find out he has missed 60% of his daily intelligence briefings? You have got to be kidding me! In a world that is growing as dangerous as the world was prior to World War II, we are skipping daily briefings? Is anyone besides the unelected (and unrepentant) Valerie Jarrett steering our ship of state right now?
So as bad as things are internationally right now (besides ISIL, let us not forget about Mother Russia), things are a hot mess at home also. The latest screw up came within the Secret Service. It seems anyone who wants to visit the White House without going through the effort of getting a pass, all needs do is jump the fence. No biggie. You can get as far in as the family quarters. Then when POTUS was recently down in Atlanta visiting the CDC, someone carrying a loaded gun was allowed in a closed elevator him! What?
When this "historic" President was first elected, he really wanted his legacy to be the transformation of America, starting with health care reform. Well every day his legacy is being written by the historians. And any historian who is honest and not a lap dog, will tell the real story. We elected an empty suit. A man with a paper thin resume who we thought could "grow into the job". Instead we got exactly what we deserved. A community organizer, who is very good at fund raising, gives impassioned speeches, plays an okay game of golf - and not much else. He acts like he just wants to put in his time, get his pension, get his life long security detail, and then hit the links in Hawaii.
Well boo, hiss. The rest of us chumps are stuck picking up the pieces. EVERYTHING appears to be falling apart right now. In November, we REALLY need to start FIXING things ASAP. We need to elect ADULTS who know how to govern, and fix things. The experiment failed. Now it is time to clean up the mess.
