Some are aware of this, others may not be. There is a honest to goodness mystery happening over the western plains right now. Specifically, in Nebraska and Colorado. Drones. Not the hobby kind, are flying in grid patterns over large tracts of land (and some cities) at night. This has been going on for many weeks now, and many phone calls have been made to the authorities. So far - the answer to this mystery is just a blank page.
This ranks right up there with mass UFO sightings in my book. Lots of witnesses, no answers. Right now, the Air Force, the FBI, and the FAA are involved. Nobody is claiming responsibility, and nobody knows who might be behind these things. Many residents who have called in, said they fly in a "formation", and fly in swarms. Some have grown so tired of these things, they have been tempted to "shoot one down", to see who is behind this mystery.
Me? I am behind the "shoot one down" crowd. Not with a gun, have the Air Force do it with an F-16. I think if they could get one of these drones on the ground, much could be learned to solve this mystery. Or not. If after investigating a downed drone, no intel could be obtained, this rabbit hole just got a whole lot deeper.
When this story first broke in November or December, I really thought it would only a day or two when the mystery was solved. Although the mystery of the jets flying in search patterns over California last fall was never fully explained either. So, what is going on? Some think these drones are part of the NEST program, either looking for, or training to look for stolen nuclear material. Others have taken a step further into the wild side. These drones, as well as the flights over California, are looking for DUMS (Deep Underground Military Sites) which may have been compromised. Compromised by whom? Good question.

If these could be either friend or foe, it is time to find out.
Anyhow, I am not really following this story, but it does pop up on a weekly basis on either my Bing or Drudge feeds. So, I read the updates to see if we have solved this mystery as yet. The fact the FBI has been dragged into this and also have drawn a blank, has further stirred my interest. I will keep an eye on this and post updates if any of value come forward.
