Chicago's new war on cops

Chicago. What in the world has happened to this once fine city? To say that it is a mess in an understatement. For example, last weekend Chicago was once again a shooting gallery. 55 shot, 10 fatally. Some might think this is shocking. It should be. But it is not. No, this was not due to any BLM rioting. This was just a normal weekend in blood soaked Chicago.

The very odd Mayor of Chicago, Lori "Lightheaded" Lightfoot, has an interesting perspective on the violence in her once fair city. It is the President's fault. "Orange Man" bad. The cops on the streets of Chicago however, have a much different take. It is the fault of city management. In particular, the Mayor. She has allowed crime to fester and grow in Chicago. 

In July, Police Superintendent addressed what he thought the main problem was in Chicago. Gangs, and lots of them. Brown believes Chicago has 117,000 gang members, in 55 main gangs, with 747 factions, and 2,500 subsets. WOW! That is like a small city! Take that many gang members, add in drugs, crime, and a shackled police department, and you end up with almost 3,000 shot with over 500 homicides this year alone! 

Now is when the story starts to get much worse. Yesterday, the FBI disclosed they have intelligence that 30 of the Chicago gangs have agreed to a "pact", where if any of them see a police office pull his weapon for any reason, the gangs will shoot the cop. Think about that just for a minute. Officers of the law, will no longer be allowed to enforce the law - by decree of the lawless. Under threat of death, a cop can not longer pull his gun, no matter what the situation is. 

If Chicago had a normal Mayor (and this one is far from normal), he/she would be asking for federal help - like yesterday. I would ask for as many feds as possible, and clean house. I would be arresting gang bangers by the hundreds, and charging them with RICO violations. The feds should then ask for the maximum sentence under the RICO laws - 20 years in a federal pen. That would send a message, loud and clear. 

This thing about this open season on cops, it is way beyond the tipping point. If this is the kind of cities that Democrats want, there will soon be nothing left but empty buildings, poor folk, and gang bangers. Anyone, and everyone with any money - will leave. Cops will resign and find work elsewhere. I mean, somebody would have to be nuts to be a cop in Chicago right now. There are too many normal places looking for good law enforcement people. Just not big, blue cities.

My fear is this new "war on cops" will spread beyond Chicago. Because most big city mayors with passive state governors are Democrats, statists or socialists, America is starting to rot from the inside out. We can either allow this to happen (and accelerate by electing Biden), or ask President Trump to fix this mess. Remember this in November. America can either rot or rise. I choose Trump. I choose to rise. I choose MAGA!
