It is time to herd the cats

"Lots going on this week. New Year's Eve. New Year's Day. Congress called back into session. Senate being sworn in. The House? Unknown. Friday could either be a day of victory, or a day of defeat. The Republican brand is on the line. What is at stake? Everything. Time to herd the cats Mr. Trump. Time to lay down the law."

This is the week; Friday is the day. Friday is the day the new Congress is sworn in. House and Senate. The Senate should be a slam dunk. The House? Not so much. For example, Thomas Massie from the great state of Kentucky, has already said he will be the "no vote" for Speaker Johnson. If that is the case, the one vote margin that Johnson would need would be gone. All it would take then, is one more "no vote" from a recalcitrant Republican, and we would be back to the confusion and bedlam we have had before.

Will the Democrats be able to derail the Trump Train from the get-go? Like not certifying the election? Nope. But the Republicans can. If Speaker Johnson gets the boot, we are screwed. Trump is screwed. This will be another dark day for America. It will give the American public reason to NEVER vote for Republicans again. Why? Too immature to govern.

Trump needs to have some straight talk with his team in the House. We don't have time for this nonsense. Not now. Too much to do. If we can't get the election certified (because a leaderless House cannot go into session), we will be in for a whole bunch of doing nothing. Meanwhile, all the promises that Donald Trump made to America would be put on the bottom shelf. And then the Democrats will be clamoring to have Jeffers sworn in as the new Speaker. Could that happen? With this group of Republicans? Absolutely! Then Trump would have a MAJOR roadblock for the next two years.

This is a self-inflicted wound. One we sure don't need to have. We need to have the troops lined up and ready to go by Friday. Yes, that means even the troublemaker, Thomas Massie. If for some reason Massie does not get in line, and screws things up on Friday, his political career would most likely be over. He could not even get elected as dogcatcher.

Lots going on this week. New Year's Eve. New Year's Day. Congress called back into session. Senate being sworn in. The House? Unknown. Friday could either be a day of victory, or a day of defeat. The Republican brand is on the line. What is at stake? Everything. Time to herd the cats Mr. Trump. Time to lay down the law.
