# Epic Fail

"Aye, we are a rudderless ship, we are..."

Okay - I will say it. What in the world has happened to our State Department? Just in case you have not noticed (due to the blizzard of other events happening within our government), our State Department is full of scandal and incompetence. There has been very little criticism by the press because - well you know - their "darling" was running the joint, and the MSM really wants her to be the next president. Now she is gone, and we have the "haughty" John Kerry. Out of the frying pan into the fire. This truly is an epic fail.

How bad is it? To quote a recent article in Townhall.com, "Keeping these (the State Department) scandals straight is getting exhausting." Now that is an understatement for sure.
  • Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) - CBS news has reported on the following: ...according to an internal State Department Inspector General's memo, several recent investigations were influenced, manipulated, or simply called off. Allegations that a State Department security official in Beirut "engaged in sexual assaults" on foreign nationals hired as embassy guards and the charge and that members of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's security detail "engaged prostitutes while on official trips in foreign countries" -- a problem the report says was "endemic." The memo also reveals details about an "underground drug ring" was operating near the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and supplied State Department security contractors with drugs.
  • Beirut - From NBC news comes this whopper: The ambassador (from Beirut) who came under investigation “routinely ditched his protective security detail in order to solicit sexual favors from both prostitutes and minor children,” according to documents obtained by NBC News.
  • Anne Patterson - Our Ambassador to Egypt, whose skill set lie somewhere between incompetent and a pariah, is the worst I have seen is quite a while. According to foreignpolicy.com this month: In a memorable May interview with the Egyptian English-language news sit, she (Patterson) repeatedly dodged pointed questions about Morsy's leadership. "The fact is they ran in a legitimate election and won," she said. "Of course it is challenging to be dealing with any new government. However, at the state institutional level, we are for instance still liaising with the same military and civil service personnel, and thus have retained the same long-established relations." Republicans from Texas Senator Ted Cruz to House Foreign Affairs Chairman Ed Royce have pounced on statements like these, increasingly seeing Patterson as the key implementer for a policy that at least offers tacit support to the Muslim Brotherhood.
  • Egypt - So this does not sound like I am only picking on Ms. Patterson, the way we have handled Egypt since the ouster of Hosni Mubarak has been resembled the Ted Mack Amature Hour. The country is about to erupt into another Syria, maybe worse. It is a hot mess and getting hotter every day.
  • Syria - Our State Department has done NOTHING in preventing over 100,000 Syrian deaths. We have no plan, no strategy. Assad looks like he will prevail, and he will not forget his friends. Not us - Russia and Iran.
  • Libya - Just like the old Abbot and Costello skit, the question "Whose on First?" is the question of the day. Nobody is in charge, and the bad guys are everywhere.
  • Russia - No respect. Putin thinks we are run be a bunch of useful idiots (he may be right.)
  • China - Our banker and our pirate. We are just a puppet on their string right now.
  • Benghazi - Hello? Anyone brought to justice yet? Anyone truly fired from the State Department as yet? We still have four dead Americans, abandoned under fire by their government, to cover up gun running (alleged) gone wrong.
  • Huma Abedin - Last but certainly not least, we cannot forget Mrs. Weiner, Mrs. Clinton's constant aide. Representative Bachmann got into all kinds of trouble with the "loony left" when she asked (from a Congressional oversight position) about the vetting process for a security clearance of Huma. You see, Huma's family (allegedly) has some uncomfortably close ties with the Muslim Brotherhood. That, in normal circumstances, would disqualify you from getting a high level clearance. Not with Huma. Now she has been caught working of campus doing some part time work. Doing what - who knows. More on this lady to come in the near future.
So here we are. Our ship of state appears to be adrift and suffering from mismanagement or no management. Under normal Administrations, the President would step in, clean house, and restore order. Not here - we love chaos. Fits right in with the plan. Overwhelm the system, and then let it fall. God help us all....
