Bad Bunny, bad idea, bad show

"Yesterday, we were informed that the remaining hostages would finally be released from their underground prison in Gaza. What a perfect opportunity to pay homage to the survivors of this horrific attack as well as the international team (lead by President Trump) who pulled off this miracle getting the hostages released. This could have been one of the most widely watched half-time shows in Super Bowl history."

Well, I will say this much. The NFL has had some whoppers of bad ideas in the past, but this one might have taken the cake. First it was the gay pride thing (most player and fans are not gay), then the racism thing after the Floyd incident (most players are black and very well paid), and now it is the Bad Bunny halftime show. This went over like passing gas in church. If the intent was to piss off half (or more) of the fan base, then mission accomplished.

Let's replay the bidding for just a minute on this guy performing at the Super Bowl. First, he sings his songs in Spanish. Did he not get the memo that Trump has declared English to be our official language in America? Next, he does not perform in any city in America. Huh? Seems that he is afraid that ICE will grab him and deport him. Deport him too where? He lives in Puerto Rico, which is part of America. Finally, he is not crazy about this country. Okay, fine. Most of the NFL fan base is not crazy about him either.

It would have been so easy, so very easy to book some talent for the halftime show that the fan base likes or loves. Many entertainers love America, love football, and could have put on a fan favorite show. But no. Virtue signaling is still in style in the NFL. Hello? Those days are over. We are into and onto the MAGA era now. We love God, country and football. Give the fans what they want, not what you think they deserve. Wake up, for crying in the beer!

Yesterday, we were informed that the remaining hostages would finally be released from their underground prison in Gaza. What a perfect opportunity to pay homage to the survivors of this horrific attack as well as the international team (lead by President Trump) who pulled off this miracle by getting the hostages released. This could have been one of the most widely watched half-time shows in Super Bowl history.

Bad Bunny, bad idea, probably a bad show. Maybe after this debacle the NFL will learn their lesson. Or not.
