Shut down or show down?

"Is this a shut down or a show down? Maybe a bit of both. We have been through these shut down events before and somehow, the sun still comes up in the morning. As far as the Democrats go, they have nothing. No leader, no message, no game."

During his first term, Donald Trump got hoodwinked a few times - only because he did not understand the upside-down, inside out way things were done in Washington DC. But then came the mysterious election in 2020, and Donald Trump was able to sit on the outside and peer back in. He studied Washington. Planned his next course of action. Thus, when the election of 2024 happened, Trump was ready to step back into the fray. Tanned, ready, relaxed and smarter, he was ready to hit the ground running in term number two.

The Democrats might not know it as yet, but getting the Big, Beautiful Bill passed last summer was a game changer for the Republicans. It set the table for the performance art which is happening right now with the stalemate in getting the budget resolved. With their blind hatred of Donald Trump causing the Democrats to stumble down the path to nowhere, Donald Trump has led them into a box canyon. Now they are trapped. Nowhere to go. The government is shut down - sort of. Why sort of? Because the Executive Branch is still up and running. Ready to DOGE the Democrats a bit more.

There are times when I really admire the way Trump can poke the other side in the eye. As Schumer and Jefferies are so mad, they can only sputter instead of talk, Trump puts out memes with one of both of them in a Mexican mustache and/or a sombrero. Then as the Democrats are complaining to MSNBC about the "racist" AI posts of their leaders, Trump and company deep sixed a couple of favorite NYC projects. Money saved for the good guys - too bad, too sad for the other side. Next up? Pink slips by the thousands ready to go!

Unlike Trump's first term, the Democrats cannot lay a hand on Trump. They can bitch and moan and caterwaul, but it won't do any good. It is like Washington is a huge poker table, and Donald Trump has all the cards. But can't Schumer and Jeffries go directly to the American people? Sure, and say what? That Trump won't let the Democrats get their way of paying billions for illegals to get free health care? Go for it Democrats - please, go for it.

Is this a shut down or a show down? Maybe a bit of both. We have been through these shut down events before and somehow, the sun still comes up in the morning. As far as the Democrats go, they have nothing. No leader, no message, no game. Meanwhile, Trump and company keep making us stronger, healthier, and greater. As Ronald Reagan would often say - "It is a new day in America". That it is sir. That it is.
