Ah, the smoking gun. We had one during the Nixon impeachment. We sure had one (hello, blue dress!) during the Clinton impeachment. But during this witch hunt? Where is it? We have a gun for sure, but there is no smoke coming out of it. Thus, this is why we will have a lightening quick trial in the Senate. It would be like if I was dragged out of my house, moved down to the courthouse to stand trial for murder. Only there was no body. No motive. And no weapon. I dare say, even with a law school dropout defending me, I would be acquitted in about a New York minute.
The Democrats do believe they have a smoking gun. The problem is, they can't articulate what the crime is. I love the one which states, "Obstruction of Congress". Oh, to have a time machine. When Obama was President and we had a Republican Congress, we could have impeached him a dozen or so times on that one. In fact, most Presidents give the upturned nose to Congress many times in their Administration. Why? Co-equal branch of government. Both the Congress and the Executive Branch tell each other to "pound sand" many times during the term of the Administration. Big deal.
The other one about the quid pro quo with the President of the Ukraine is really a nothing burger. Both our President as well as the Ukrainian President have sworn that never happened. HOWEVER - the Biden thing is NOT a nothing burger. The gun smokes red hot on that issue. But we can't touch that one. Why? Biden is part of the chosen few. Protected by the media and the Deep State. Go figure.
My suggestion to the President is simple. Once this charade is over, one way to make sure it does not happen again is to have the DNC reimburse the taxpayers for all the millions of dollars wasted by Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler. Why should we have to pay for this BS parade which has gone on for months, maybe years? Make those Blue bastards pay!
Next week, our ancient Speaker is going to embarrass the country by bringing this POS show trial to a vote in the House. Enough lemmings will vote "aye", to send this over to Uncle Mitch. From there it goes nowhere. Then we are done with this. Sort of. One of the brighter minds on the Democrat side of the House has already said if Trump "beats this one" and gets re-elected, they might impeach him all over again during his second term. No - I am not making this up.
