You got to know when to fold them!

There is an old saying - "Why can't the states operate like the federal government when it comes to spending money?" Short answer - states cannot "print" more money. Nor run deficits. In other words, states need to operate like the family budget does. Money going out cannot exceed money coming in. 

As most of us know, our federal government is a mess right now. Republicans and Democrats do not have a clue on how to balance a yearly budget. The whopping $34T debt we have is only the beginning of this sad tale. By 2030, a scant six years away, our national debt will be $52T. The interest to service that debt will be close to being $2T a year. But enough about the fed - back to the states.

The state of Minnesota, which is run like Tim Walz's piggy bank, would love, love, love to keep building the LRTs which only the thugs like to ride on. The Southwest Light Rail has become a classic money pit, with every quarter the budget to completion goes up, and the completion date keeps slipping out further into the future. Most of us thought this train was the whopper of all whoppers. That is, until the news this morning.

The Blue Line Extension, which would tie in Brooklyn Park to Minneapolis, is still waiting to get funding and the go ahead to be built. It is just an extension, right? Can't cost that much. Oh, but you must remember the Met Council. This is a band of idiots who don't know a Dit from a DUH! According to the morning newspaper, the cost to build this "extension" would be somewhere between $2.9B and $3.2B. 

Charlie Zelle, the chief nut in this band of morons, said building this Blue Line Extension to connect Brooklyn Park and Minneapolis would serve the underserved. It is critically important for us to do so. If you think crime on the LRT system is bad now, just wait until this Brooklyn Park line is finished. Yes, that is what I am saying. We will spend billions just for the chance to get mugged on another dirty train.

Here is the long and the short of it. Minnesota can't afford this choo-choo train. Heck, we can't even afford to finish the SWLRT line. And the deficit hawks will be back in town shortly. Asking Washington for monies to build these "most important" infrastructure improvements will be barking up the wrong tree. Sorry Charlie - ain't gonna happen.

Time for another superman

"What do we need in a new superman? Must have money and must know how to do math. Must have a good industrial base, so it can make enough weapons to supply the free world. And most importantly? Must not have any socialists nor democrats in the mix. That is all. Good luck finding our new man of steel."  

During World War 1 (The Great War), the United States was very helpful in defeating the Germans. In World War II, the United States was a key player in defeating the Germans and the Japanese. The United States defeated the Soviet Union during the Cold War, without firing a shot. Basically, ever since the end of World War II, the United States has been THE superpower in the world. Not only the superpower, but the superman, who protected all from the forces of evil.

Well, guess what? This old superman is tired and worn out. To make matters worse, he is broke. Not only broke, but $34T in debt. Why? Part of this superman is made up of people who can't do math. For example, last year this superman took in over $4T in revenue. But then spent over $6T. Huh? How does that work? Now countries like Israel and Ukraine are asking for billions more to fight their wars. Are we the only free country in the world who can help out? Nope. There are plenty more. But somehow it always seems to come back to this old worn-out superman. 

Who would be my vote for the next superman? Japan, Germany, and Poland would be a good start. Great Britian, France and Canada are of very limited help (especially Canada). Is it good all countries from NATO kick some bucks into the kitty? Sure, but to stay safe, the alliance needs more money and arms. Donald Trump had the right idea. All countries need to kick in money and arms which are meaningful. To make NATO strong again. Our days of carrying everyone's water are over.

Yesterday, our Commander-in-Chief was awoken from his nap to meet with Congressional leaders. Seems we are running out of money (again). Because of that, and the fact our leaders take so many vacations, the budget for this fiscal year (which started last October) is not yet settled. And - money which is not in the budget (close to $100B) is needed to re-arm Israel, Ukraine, the Red Sea protection, and Taiwan. If we don't come to resolution, the government will shut down (again), everyone will be blamed, and the bad guys will continue to advance.

What happened to Nick's stuff?

Many of us have heard the stories of one of America's greatest inventors - Nikola Tesla. That is - we have heard some of the stories, and many of the rumors. I am particularly interested in Tesla's Wardenclyffe, which was located on Long Island. Like - what was it, really? Was it a new form of electricity, using the natural forces within the Earth to "electricity" the atmosphere? His thinking was so far ahead of most folks, many of his ideas to many were just lunacy. And one of those people who thought Tesla was bonkers was his main financial backer - J.P. Morgan. Morgan finally pulling his funding back from Tesla. And without Morgan's money, work on Telsa's Earth energy - came to a halt.

There are some today who think Tesla had stumbled upon the golden fleece of energy. Unlimited, abundant and almost free energy. So much energy, that it would not only supply everyone's needs, but the nighttime sky could also be illuminated. Tesla was thinking in four-dimensional chess, while the rest of humanity was still trying to figure out checkers.

Tesla lived out the last part of his life as a recluse. He took up residence on the 33rd floor of the New Yorker hotel. In that room, he spent time with his papers. Papers which had all his ideas and secrets. But he never quit inventing. Not that long before his death, he claimed to have invented a "death ray". And he could make a "Chinese Wall" type of barrier around America, to keep her safe from invasion.

But if they did contain the secret to unlimited energy, it sure would be nice to know - and why we are not pursuing it. 

One final thought on who might know something. President Trump. Why? Donald Trump's uncle (John G. Trump) did have a chance to evaluate Telsa's papers. Just to find out if there was any "there, there". What does President Trump know? Good question.  

  

Does Trump really have a 40% problem?

"Bottom line is this. Dean (who?) Phillips has no future. Nikki has no future this year. The race is going to be between the man who gets stuff done (Trump), and the man who (if I can quote Obama), can 'really f*** things up'. By the time the election comes about, this 40% canard will be nothing but an afterthought." 

South Carolina is now over, and it is on to Michigan! Wait - I thought Minnesota had a primary tomorrow. Is Donald Trump coming here to campaign? No need to. Minnesota no longer counts. Come November, it will once again be a solid blue check mark for the Dems. Coming up to the general election, all eyes will be on the states which count. States which have a chance of falling into Trump's camp. Minnesota? Might as well be a part of Canada. 

Some in the lap dog media are wondering now about the strength of Donald Trump's last win in South Carolina. He did not capture more than 60% of the Republican vote. The chattering class is now wondering if Donald Trump has a 40% problem going into the general election. Will those 40% who voted for Nikki Haley vote for Joe Biden instead of Trump? To that I answer, COME ON MAN! No way Jose!

I will say this - anyone who would vote for Joe Biden in 2024 is either sick or crazy. Biden with partial dementia really screwed this place up after his victory in 2020. I cannot imagine what a fully dementia ladened Biden do for another four years. Things would be so bad, that Putin might nuke us just to put us out of our misery.

Back to the alleged 40% problem for Trump. First off, let's see if that continues as Trump continues on throughout the states. Losing 40% of the base in South Carolina, where he was running against a former two term governor, should not be a shock to anyone. Plus (and this is a big one) - remember that in South Carolina, Democrats could choose NOT to vote in the Democrat primary, and vote for Nikki in the Republican primary instead.

How bad are things right now on the campaign trail? Dean Phillips starting to feel the pain. It was reported that many of his district constituents in Minnesota are puzzled and perturbed that he is running against Grandpa Joe. Now even more so that he is considering a third party run with a RINO Republican like Mitt Romney or Nikki Haley. 

Bottom line is this. Dean (who?) Phillips has no future. Nikki has no future this year. The race is going to be between the man who gets stuff done (Trump), and the man who (if I can quote Obama), can "really f*** things up". By the time the election comes about, this 40% canard will be nothing but an afterthought. 

This race is Trump's race. Not Biden's. Not Halley's. Not Phillips. Not even Newsome's. Trump is going to be our next president and will fix what is broken. November cannot come soon enough.    

A dead student, another illegal responsible

"Is this the Mariel Boatlift all over again? Are we getting the worst of the worst from countries all over the world? Has Biden been played to be that big of a sucker? What has Biden done to our country?" 

I told my wife the other day, I feel like we are living through the Mariel Boatlift from the 1980's, once again. For those too young to remember, the Mariel Boatlift was when Jimmy Carter, out of his naiveté, wanted to improve relations with Cuba. So, Carter lifted the restriction on how many Cubans could immigrate to the United States. Castro was elated. Cuba was going through some tough economic times, so Castro emptied out his jails and insane asylums. And just like that, we ended up having the worst of the worst of the Cubans, come to America.

Last week was a tough week. A nursing student was out jogging on the campus of University of Georgia (Athens). It was a place where many students would go for a run. Like I said, it was right on campus. Then out of nowhere, another illegal from Venezuela, saw chance to commit a crime of opportunity. For reasons unknown except to this perp named Jose Ibarra, he came out of the bushes and bludgeoned her to death. 

Georgia's governor went through the roof with anger. How in the world did this perp get into his state, and kill one of the state's college kids? How did he get to America? Rumor had it he was arrested in New York for some crime, but due to cashless bail, he was immediately freed. He somehow got down to Georgia, and killed a young lady who was a stranger to him. Governor Brian Kemp wrote a stinging letter to Biden demanding answers. Knowing how Biden and Mayorkas work, they will just send that letter to the circular file.

Is this the Mariel Boatlift all over again? Are we getting the worst of the worst from countries all over the world? Has Biden been played to be that big of a sucker? What has Biden done to our country? Trump has vowed to have the largest deportation in human history once he is sworn in. The lefties are already gnashing their teeth in protest. HOW DARE HE!!

Joe Biden is going to go down in history as the dumbest president we ever had. Not only dumb, but corrupt. People on both sides of the aisle are getting ready for the second term of Donald Trump. It is inevitable. 2024 could be the landslide of the ages. All thanks to Joe Biden - the dumbest president in our history.   

Biden's folly

"More and more people on the left are now thinking that Joe Biden's milk as expired. He is past his prime. Over the hill. Are they going to try and re-tread Biden in 2024, or find somebody else, who is much younger. Time will tell. But Putin is still pulling for Biden." 

Interesting take by the experts on the 500 new sanctions that Joe Biden is going to level on Russia for Putin's assassination of Alexei Navalny. These sanctions, on top of the hundreds of previous sanctions against Putin for the invasion of Ukraine, add up to a huge - nothing burger. In fact, Putin figured out in the get-go, how to not only get around these sanctions, but also profit from them. Meanwhile, Biden is puffing out his 81-year-old chest, telling his minions he has really taught Putin a lesson this time.

Here is a fact of life. India and China are buying up millions of barrels of dirty Russian oil. Do they know the United States has threatened sanctions against those who buy Russian oil? They don't care. Meanwhile, our dementia ladened President, still thinks climate change is more or a threat to us than nuclear war. If Biden could get his head out of the clouds, he would be able to figure out that the biggest gift we gave Putin was our unilateral cutting back on fossil fuels. Telling the world when he was a candidate, he would kill the fossil fuel industry.

I wish some of Biden's handlers would tell old Joe the truth. Putin is playing him like a fiddle. Biden is so easy for Putin to manipulate (this is true), Putin recently endorsed Biden for re-election. Putin wants NOTHING to do with Trump. Why? Trump is a wild card. Meaning, Putin can't control him. Biden is nothing more than the mouse that roared to Putin. Biden tells ancient stories about beating up Corn Pop outside the high school gym, and Putin just laughs. To Putin, Biden is all hat and no cowboy.

Actually, having Biden beat Trump out in 2020 was the best gift Putin could have received. May I also throw Xi and the Rocket Man into that mix also? Biden has let our military sag, while the Chinese Army and Navy have now matched (or surpassed) ours. Rocket Man is again threatening everyone in the western Pacific with nukes. Putin has vowed to re-build his military, in the midst of all of Biden's "crippling" sanctions. Meanwhile, Blinken is making sure our State Department folks know the correct pronouns for people. Like "Xr" instead of "Mister". Beam me up Scottie - I can't take much more of this!

By the way, speaking of Biden's folly, did you see that the young nursing student who was killed while jogging at the University of Georgia, was killed by an illegal alien? The blood of this young lady, just like the blood of all who have died since Biden opened up our borders - is on the hands of this administration.

Stand down Nikki, it is not your time

"Does Nikki have a future in the Republican Party? Much depends on how she handles herself in this election. If she bows out very soon and becomes an asset for Donald Trump, I think bygones will be bygones. She will be a member of a very experienced bench of next generation candidates going forward."

Let me first clear the air. I like Nikki Haley. I always have. She is tough, she is experienced. That being said, after she loses her home state, it is time for her to stand down. No shame in that. It is not her time. This will be the second term of Donald Trump. Is the time to lick the wounds, and kiss and make up. Remember who the real enemy is. Grandpa Joe. The man who allowed millions of illegals of a questionable nature to come unimpeded and unmolested into our country. Joe Biden is public enemy number one. He is an enemy of the state.

We need a combined force of Nikki Haley and Donald Trump to go after not only Biden, but also any blood sucking Democrat who is running for election. Have I always felt like this? Not a bit. At one time in my life, Democrats were more tolerable. Now - they are vermin who want our country to change into a gulag run by apparatchiks. I have no time for them. Not one of them. Traditional Democrats like Joe Manchin - maybe yes. Circus clowns like Jamie Raskin? No way Jose.

By the way, who is the best attack dog to go after Joe Biden? If you guessed Joe Biden, you are 100% correct. There is nothing anybody on our side can say about Grandpa's fitness for the job which would be more harmful, than Joe just being Joe. What could I see Nikki's job going forward? The # 1 attack dog in going after Kamala. That would be low fruit on the tree for Nikki. But it would be necessary. 

Does Nikki have a future in the Republican Party? Much depends on how she handles herself in this election. If she bows out very soon and becomes an asset for Donald Trump, I think bygones will be bygones. She will be a member of a very experienced bench of next generation candidates going forward. By the way - the Democrat bench going forward still looks bleak at best. 

No, this election belongs to Donald Trump. He needs to get into the gears and fix the crap that Biden has put into the engine of our country. Only Trump can do it. Once Trump has the country looking and running like it did when he was in office before, it will be ready to be handed off to a next generation candidate like Nikki Haley.

I will say again, stand down Nikki, and be part of the team. You time may be coming, but it is not now.  

   

Is this even possible? Could it be?

I was watching some folks (who were uncommitted) react to Donald Trump's town hall on Fox News. There were five gentlemen who were being questioned. All were uncommitted before the town hall. All were now Trump supporters. One man gave a very revealing explanation on why he is now in "Camp Trump". The man said, "When Donald Trump speaks, I see strength. He owns the room." Bingo!  That might be it in a nutshell. Maybe we needed four years of Grandpa Biden to realize just how good Donald Trump is.

Hold on for just a minute, and please don't hang up the phone. Donald Trump reminds me a bit of Elon Musk. How so? Both men are visionaries. Both are doers, not dreamers. Trump said during the town hall that he was going to help our large cities get cleaned up. He was going to federalize Washington DC to get it back to what it once was. Trump said what many of us have been thinking - our cities are a disgrace. Embarrassing. People should not have to live like that. But under Democrat control they have been. Trump wants to fix that.

Trump is going to fix that bleeding sore on our open borders. If you are a border crasher who came here illegally, your time may be running short. This country is not the utopia, flush with cash that Biden promised you. We are a nation of laws. One of our first laws is to become a citizen, you must do it the right way. If you have not, you will be removed. Period. End of story.

Trump is going to open up so much drilling, he will put Putin and Iran out of business. Yes Joe Biden, your policies have enriched both of these evil empires. But Trump will right the ship. Put us back on course. And the EV fiasco? Trump will fix that also. New technologies will come about when the time is right. People like Elon Musk will figure this out, so the transition to new technologies will be right for the citizens and well as the country. You can't push something on the American public they don't want to build nor want to buy. DUH!

Right now, many on the blue side of the street are hoping that somehow, Gavin Newsom could be snuck into the lineup ahead of Giggles. Retire Biden, and dump Harris. Am I worried about that? For Putin - the ultimate sanction

"People accuse Trump of being unhinged. That is nonsense. Trump is normal. Putin is the guy who is unhinged. Putin has played Biden like a fiddle. He won't be able to do that with a President Trump."  

Get ready! Gramps is going to levy a whole slew of meaningless sanctions against Vladimir Putin on Friday. I know that Putin is shaking in his boots right now. Actually, he is not. He is still basking in the afterglow of the immense wealth that Biden has bestowed on him. What are you talking about Bird? It was the Iranians who received all kinds of wealth from Biden, not Putin. Well, buckle up kiddos - Putin was the big winner from Biden's Green New Deal.

There is an old saying that Russia has two things going for itself - nukes and the fact they are a giant gas station. We know from the past couple of years, their once feared Army is nothing more than ill trained conscripts. Russia's old and natural gas is inferior to ours. It is closer to Europe (in proximity) than ours is, but many in the Euro Zone would have bought ours instead of Russia's, if Biden had not declared war on our fossil fuels (Biden's words, not mine).

I have said many times before, Biden is surrounded by morons and ideologues. He can take the sanctions that he and his Treasury Secretary have come up with, and stuff them some place. They will do no good. Putin will just laugh. However, if we really wanted to wipe that smirk off of Putin's face, Biden could initiate something from a three-word sentence - DRILL, BABY, DRILL! Flood the market with OUR oil and natural gas. Sell to Europe. Sell to India. That would be good for Europe and India (a much better product), better for the environment (cleaner than Russia's product), and MUCH better for America (lower energy prices). 

Biden made Putin a rich man by this Green New Deal nonsense. He can just as easily take that wealth away from him by allowing us to be the energy powerhouse we once were. I mean, do everything. Build LNG facilities, build the Keystone Pipeline, drill everywhere possible. I know his greenies will wet and soil themselves if he does this, but who cares? It is the right thing to do for America and the world. 

BTW, I heard on the news that Russia is circulating the rumor that Putin's inner circle is ready to declare nuclear war on the west should Russia lose in Ukraine. That rumor, plus the fact we just found out Putin wants to put nukes in space, are both sobering. Is Putin crazy enough to pull the nuclear trigger? He was crazy enough to kill his number one rival, in prison, in broad daylight.

I wonder how this makes Taiwan feel. Probably like getting closer to Japan, as they sure can't depend on Grandpa Joe."

Poor old grandpa Joe. Is nothing going his way anymore? First the car manufacturers are having a revolt over his FORCED conversion to EVs. Joe might have to back off of some of his mandates. In Biden's dementia ladened mind, this was probably somehow Trump's fault. Never mind the American public was not yet willing to buy this horse with no name. So, there sit the car lots - loaded with unsold EV inventory.

How about the wars he is sponsoring? Real trouble there. First off, those ding dang MAGA types in the House. So overly concerned about the invasion of illegals, poisonous drugs and child trafficking. In mean, COME ON MAN! We are trying to increase our blue voting base here! Now the Republicans will not allow any funding to go to Ukraine, Israel, or the Indo-Pacific until the border issue is addressed.

However, here is even a bigger concern. With victory in sight, Grandpa Joe is going to pressure Israel to accept a massive cease fire in Gaza. Huh? With Hamas on the run, the head guy from Hamas almost cornered, Joe wants the IDF to stand down. Why in the world would he want that? Rashida Tlaib. The traitor to America who somehow got into congress and represents the Muslim portion of Michigan. She is publicly urging supporters NOT to back Biden for re-election. But she is a Democrat. What gives? It is Palestine over Israel baby! Sorry Bibi - you are about to get thrown under the bus.

Here is what is going to happen in Israel. It has happened many times before. Wash, rinse, repeat. War, cease fire, war. War, cease fire, war. If Israel takes their foot off the neck of the snake now, Hamas will grow back, just like a stubborn cancer. They will attack Israel again. How do I know? They have said so. Plus, it is in their nature. Whereas in the past, America has always been a staunch ally of Israel, the squish Biden has weak knees and round heels.

259 days until election day. Can we hold on? Can the world hold on? Joe Biden is the biggest America wrecker in our history. And there is still much damage Grandpa Joe can do before November 5th.   

Another wasted holiday

Anybody doing anything special for President's Day? The day we honor ALL presidents. I bet the thing most folks are doing is trying to find daycare for their little darlings who are OFF of school (again). Can we be honest for a minute? Is there ANY value in having this day off? Tell the truth now. My vote is NO and NO again! When I was young, and the presidents honored were Washington and Lincoln, the day made sense to me. But this mishmash of all presidents? No way, Jose! 

For example, do you want to celebrate Jimmy Carter? Remember what happened on his watch? The turning of Iran to crap and the destruction of our economy. Or Bill Clinton - do we want to celebrate the president who redefined what a little blue dress is used for? And then lie about it under oath? Or the worst of the worst - Barack (Barry) Obama. The president who promised to bring us together, but instead put us as far away from each other as the east is from the west. Finally, we can't forget grandpa. Whatever damage Obama did to our country, grandpa is doubling down on it.

I know, I know. Many on the left have a list of red presidents they choose not to celebrate either. See what I mean? MOST people DO NOT want to celebrate ALL the presidents. They would rather just go to work, Wait - most people ARE working today. It is just government types which get ANOTHER paid day off! What a scam!

Why not have a diversity day as a national holiday? Or Cinco de Mayo as a national holiday. Or Lenin's birthday? There is an endless list of equal worthless holidays we can celebrate. Which reminds me - the two weeks off Congress is taking - is that due to President's Day? Just wondering.

In any event, if you are celebrating President's Day, good on you. For those who feel like me, enjoy your day at work. The taxes you will have to pay on your wages will help pay the salaries of the millions of government workers who are NOT working today.

"Coming up in 2024, we need a normal, cognitive president, and a Congress who wants to work. Come to think of it, we might not make it to 2024. The clock is ticking. The bad guys are on the move. And our leadership is on vacation."

Back when I was working, I had the biggest negotiation of my life coming up. Like in three weeks. It would be a huge struggle to get everything done in those three weeks. To miss the deadline would be catastrophic for the company. But that was tough toenails. My wife and I wanted to go on a two-week cruise starting on Monday. It was going to be great! Come back with a tan, and I would still have three days to get this huge negotiation finished.

This obviously, is a fictional story. Never happened to me. I mean, COME ON FOLKS! Could anyone be this stupid, this uncaring, to do something like this? Well, we could start with our Congress. They have a ton and a half of work to do, and very little time to do it. What does that mean? It means Congress will only have three days to get all their work done when they get back from a winter vacation. In the real world, to take a long vacation when there was this much work to do, you would be told by your management not to bother coming back. You would be fired.

Speaker Johnson - the people are watching. You are setting this Congress up (under your leadership), as a "do nothing" Congress. The Democrats are chomping at the bit right now, to take the two-seat margin you have, and erase it this coming November. What to do? Cancel the vacation, and work sunrise to sunset each and every day. GET STUFF DONE! Get those funding bills done. For the love of Pete! You guys work for us! Ukraine is starting to fall. The border is still a mess. Forget Mayorkas - that is a waste of time. Remember Article One of our Constitution. YOU GUYS HAVE THE POWER! USE IT!

By the way - did you hear about all the military age Chinese who have been coming over the border in California? Rumor has it, as soon as they get here, they have money. They buy guns. They target practice. Huh? For what purpose? We can't ask any questions though, or the other side will call us "racists". But Congress can. Meanwhile, the enemy could be inside our gates. 

For the rest of February, we will have a president who does not know what day it is. We will have a Congress, laying on some beach getting sunburned. Meanwhile, Rome is burning. Our bottomless pit

"Our kids are our seed corn. We are sacrificing many of them on the altar of the teacher unions and politicians. They deserve better. We deserve better. Our country deserves better."  

I never cease to be amazed at the folly of our state representatives when it comes to funding education. It is the most perfect example of throwing good money after bad that I have ever seen. When we spend this much, why can't many of our kids learn? Ever hear that expression, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink"?

Our inner-city schools are failure factories. A friend of mine, who many years ago taught science in a inner-city middle school, was so fed up with kids who did not want to be there, he came up with a strategy. "For those who want to learn, sit in front. For those who don't care, sit in the back." He was amazed at how many kids gravitated to the back of the classroom.

Many of our kids are failing today. Failing to learn, failing to attend. The excusers are saying it is pandemic related. Our kids never recovered from the "Zoom" days at home. I disagree. Kids who want to learn, who have a hungry mind, are living in a time of utopia. We are in an explosion of knowledge, the likes of which we have never witnessed before. Be it a computer, a tablet, a smart phone, or YouTube on a TV - anyone is seconds away from learning tons of information about just about anything. 

Did you know there are over a billion websites on the internet? Many are garbage, but also many are not. Finding the right websites, with good information and knowledge on them, is really not that hard. I have said this before - when I was in school, and you needed some information, you went to the library and used the dewy decimal system to find what you were looking for. It was a long and laborious process. Today? I delight in finding out information "at the speed of light", using only my fingertips. 

Education is a bottomless pit today. We shovel in tons of money, only to get spotty results. Our system of educating our young, sucks. It really does. We need a reclama -a total do over. Why? Here is the irony. Our kids are not stupid - only unmotivated. If our kids want to learn, they can learn like crazy. However, if they shut down - it is game over. So, our school system, the politicians, the educators - need to change. Not just a little bit, but they need to "burn the ships".

Want some immutable facts on what I am saying? Do some research on the Chicago school system. Thought by many to be the worst in the nation. It is a failure factory on steroids. Even though the per student spending is up to almost $30,000/student, the results are horrible. How so? Not too long ago, 75% of elementary and 95% of high school students failed to meet state standards. The solution? Throw more money down the bottomless pit? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, trying to get different results. DUH!

Will the wolf ever be able to dwell with the lamb?

The book of Isaiah talks about "the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat." Sounds like peace, harmony and tranquility to me. As we all know, the way our society is structured in this broken world, certain species do not dwell nicely with other species. In fact, one species might be another species meal. In our society, certain people do not coexist well with other people. Truthfully, much of the love we should have, has been replaced by antipathy and out and out hatred.

Yesterday, we found out the Russians were planning to put nukes in orbit. Why? Is that a step towards peace? Or a loud Claxton, signaling war? Meanwhile, the stalemate continues in Ukraine, with the daily body count of Russians and Ukrainians still climbing. Is the wolf dwelling with the sheep in Ukraine? Do they live in peace? Not hardly. If anything, it is the "wars and rumors of wars", playing out, right in front of us. The end might be closer than we can imagine. 

Ever since Cain killed Able with a rock, mankind has shown an ability to fight and/or kill. For some reason, life in America has become cheap as of late. Look at the crime statistics in most of our cities - especially for homicide. Some say it is just the guns which kill other people. Maybe, but during the days of Cain and Able, guns did not exist. Be it a rock, an arrow, a spear, a sword, a bomb, or whatever - if you want to kill someone, there are a variety of ways to do it. And if a nation declares war on another nation, each military has many ways to kill.

In our country, how about our political scene as of late? Are the wolves and lambs getting along? To the point where they can dwell together? Talk to each other? Not even close. I shudder to think what this November is going to be like. After seeing Fani Willis and her boyfriend on the witness stand yesterday, I could not believe this is the "team" was trying to dethrone a giant like Donald Trump. To them, Trump is public enemy number one. To Trump, Willis and her boyfriend are only two more bumps in the road. Where is the love, man? Not there. Not hardly.

Can we ever get along, or is this our fate, to be broken and bloodied? With that question in mind, those in the faith do a much better job in practicing harmony. Not perfect, but better.

When Jesue returns, and this broken world is replaced by the New Earth and New Heaven, there is no doubt the words from Isaiah will come true. But until then, our better selves will remain more of an aspiration than a reality.  

   

And now what?

Can't we just have a little parade to celebrate a successful football year? Maybe not, if your team is located in a crime hub. KC a crime hub? For violent crime, it has a crime rate 300% higher than the national average. For just ordinary crime, it is 166% higher than the national average. Maybe it would have been safer if San Francisco had won the game. Not as much crime there. No- wait - that is not right. San Francisco under Mayor London Breed has a sky-high crime problem. Like, crime is so rampant in San Francisco, that it is a more dangerous place to live or visit than 98% of the other US cities, both large and small.

This might have been the end to celebrations after a sports victory. Why? Too much crime and too few cops. The strategy of defunding and dehumanizing the police has worked very well thank you. Large cities are now cesspools of violence. The violence in KC, left one dead, and eight children wounded. Who could have been so callous, so careless? If you guessed gang violence, you might have won the prize. Welcome to Biden's America, where the safe zones are getting less and less safe.

The big international news was more Russia-gate. Like, it was OM Goodness a shocker! Seems the Russians, along with maybe the Norks and the Chicoms are getting ready to weaponize space. Put some low orbit nukes in space, so at the right time, they can take out our satellites. Maybe even, do an EMP strike and take out our grid. Did we just find out about this yesterday? Nope - about two years ago. But Biden classified it so very few would know about it. Well, now some in Congress know, and they want it declassified to all can know. Is this a clear and present danger to the United States? Sure could be.

Here is a no brainer. We live in a dangerous world. Many would like to do us harm. What is it with this administration, that climate, white supremacists, and MAGA folks are the enemy, and not bad guys from abroad? China has passed us up in the size of their navy. Does Biden care? Nope. We have over six million illegals in our country, many of whom might want to do us harm. Does Biden care? No, again. Most of our big blue cites are cesspools of crime and filth - so much so, normal citizens will no longer go there. Do Biden and Soros funded DAs care? No, no and no again. 

Welcome to the ending of America. We are so far beyond the bend right now, even a Trump victory with a red Senate and House might now be enough to save us. Democrats are the spoiled child who lost the wonderful vision that America has passed down to them. Democrats have ruined us. Left us vulnerable to many bad things. Period.

Lessons learned (or not learned)

"Our ungovernable juggernaut continues to lumber down the road. What are the lessons we have learned as of late? Nothing. Nada. We are still as confused and incompetent as we have always been. The Democrats don't know how to govern - only spend. The Republicans don't know how to govern - only run purity tests on themselves."

How is the week going so far? Lots and lots of activity - mostly not good. Some might say that on the plus side, we finally had enough votes to impeach Mayorkas. Okay, and then what? First off, not a single Democrat went along with the Republicans to vote this Biden puppet out. That is a problem. However, three Republicans peeled off and voted NOT to impeach. To me, that is not a problem. Why not? Impeachment of this guy was a waste of time. Yes, Mayorkas is worthy of being fired. But then what? Biden would put another stooge in that spot, just to do his bidding. 

Besides this waste of time impeaching Mayorkas, a special election was held in New York's Long Island district to replace the disgraced George Santos. First off, I agree that Santos was a flawed candidate, and should have been better vetted before the election. How we won is still a mystery, but he did. That being said, as flawed and corrupt as he was, Democrats would have NEVER allowed him to be thrown out of the House if he was blue instead of red. Especially if they had a razor thin majority. But the Republicans did. And they had an excellent candidate to replace him. Ahead of the Democrat in every important issue. But she lost. And there goes the seat, and the razor thin majority just got thinner. 

What else happened yesterday? The new inflation numbers came out, and inflation is still a bug-a-boo for Biden. Especially for rent, housing and insurance. Because of the new inflation numbers, the stock market tanked. And how is the market right now? If you have stock, enjoy the gains. If you are working, beware. Many jobs are going to be downsized or eliminated in the next couple of years. If you are looking to buy your first home, good luck. If your skills and/or investment lie in AI, quantum computing, robotics, or batteries - you might have a rosy future. If your skills lie in yesterday's economy - good luck to you.

Today, the Senate will get ready to have a trial for Mayorkas. Meanwhile, the Senate passed a giant funding bill for Ukraine, Israel, Red Sea, and Taiwan. But without any border fixes, it will die in the House. Meanwhile, about 9 out of 10 Americans now think our current President is either senile, or a dead man walking. The House by the way, still needs to get all their funding bills passed and then over to the Senate. This needs to happen pronto, or else guess what? Another CR will be in the works.

The morning after

                                    

"How is the rest of the week going to go? Hopefully not too hectic. Watching the hate and discontent which takes place every day in Washington, can be taxing on the soul. But we will somehow get through it. We always do - even though we seldom demonstrate our better selves." 

Many are saying thank goodness it is over! For two weeks now, every knowledgeable pundit (and some unknowledgeable ones), have been pontificating about every minute subtlety about how the two super bowl teams were going to match up. Yawn... - who cares? But the game was played last night, no interruptions (except for some kind of half-dressed streaker), and the Chief won (again). 

But enough about football. What else is going on? What does this Monday hold for us? First off, Lloyd Austin (Defense Secretary) is back in the hospital. Same issue. Post operation problems with his bladder. This time, he let people know, and transferred power over to his deputy. I am not a fan of his, but I am worried about him, nevertheless. What Austin has going on, is not normal. Could be life changing. He deserves our prayers.

The IDF rescued two hostages yesterday. This is huge. But there are still a huge number of hostages which remain sequestered. As well as six American hostages. Am I the only American who is bothered that the thirty Americans which were killed, and the six which are still held hostage - are never mentioned by our Commander-in-Chief. All he seems to care about is the protection of Muslims in Gaza. Dead Americans? That was so yesterday.

But there was something else which really eclipsed everything else which went on this weekend. And this was really big. Baptism. Believer's baptism. We baptized nine adults at our church on Sunday. At another church close by, they also had baptism. When you are in the faith, seeing people publicly profess their newfound relation with Jesus, never gets old. We have a friend whose young son decided to give his life to Jesus and be baptized. When I saw the pictures of his baptism, I could not have been more thrilled.

The lie which is a whopper times ten

"We need to defund the IRS and let our people be. If Joe Biden is looking for some extra money which should have been taxed, have him look no further than Hunter."

Do you remember, not that long ago, when Uncle Joe wanted to have enough funding to hire 85,000 or so more IRS agents, most everyone scoffed? Then when Biden said these agents would by use ONLY to go after millionaires and billionaires, as none of them (whisper when you say it), "pay their fair share of taxes". What a bunch of goo. Everyone knew that he was going to use this army of IRS agents to go after the MAGA middle class. Once again, just like when Lois Lerner was around, the IRS was going to be weaponized for a Democrat president. 

But now the jig is up. We know what the focus of ALL these thousands of IRS agents is going to be. Millionaires and billionaires? Nope. Home office workers, who deduct part of their home as a legit tax deduction. Biden knows if he squeezed home office employees hard enough, he might find some pocket change in the sofa. You mean home office people cheat? Maybe some, but most do not. It is just that the rules for what is deductible are so convoluted and confusing, mistakes are easy to make.

What is with these Democrats? Back in the first years of our Republic (listen up Democrats, we are NOT a Democracy), the early citizens were thrilled to get government out of their hip pocket. They had it with King George, and it was now time for self-governance. Funny - the Republicans still feel that way. The Democrats? They want to put you under a microscope and tax ever cent they can. After all, your money is their money. Don't believe me? Just ask them.

We need to defund the IRS and let our people be. If Joe Biden is looking for some extra money which should have been taxed, have him look no further than Hunter. Go after the stuff of Hunter's the DOJ let slip through the cracks. The stuff which the statute of limitations put off limits. But the hard-working folks, they don't have time for this crap. Let them earn an honest living. 

    

The countdown begins, panic starts anew

"Tick tock, tick tock. Every day this goes by unresolved, the runway gets shorter and shorter. Trump's chances get better and better. After Biden got let off the hook by Robert Hur (for being an old man with a failing memory), Trump's argument about Biden's America having a two-tiered justice system just grew more legs."

Election Day is only in 269 days. Those days will go fast. How do I know? A good portion of those days will be summertime. And we ALL know how fast summer can wiz by. I have told my wife; this will be one for the ages. For the history books. If we can keep Mr. Trump out of jail and on all the state ballots, and if we can keep Mr. Biden out of a memory care facility, we can indeed have the matchup of the century. But after this week, Biden's chances of remaining a lucid, viable candidate are getting slimmer by the day. And Donald Trump's chances of staying on every state's ballot, hinge on the ladies and gentlemen of the Supreme Court. 

Deep inside the apparatchik of the DNC, panic is setting in. The "what if" question is being asked. Uncle Joe has always been reliable in stoking hatred for Donald Trump. And it is by hatred alone, that the Democrats have a snowball's chance of winning in 2024. But what if Joe can't run? What is someone pulls that 25th Amendment stuff, and has Joe retired? Kamala has a hatred index on the right which almost matches Trump's hatred index on the left. But wait - what about someone else? Michele Obama? Gavin Newsome? Elmer Fudd? Anybody? 

Don't think for a minute that idea has not crossed the minds of the deep thinkers in the Deep State. But what are the implications? The first woman Veep, a woman of some kind of color, being passed over for someone else? Where is the loyalty? Has Kamala not stayed out of trouble during this term? Sure - by staying out of doing her tasks. And she has cut back on her nonsensible, "word salad" ramblings. But she has about as much of a chance winning the election to be our next POTUS, as "none of above" has. Besides, she does have some kind of following within the party. To go over her head and push her out of the way, might unleash the "dogs of DNC war". Could be a civil war of sorts.

Tick tock, tick tock. Every day this goes by unresolved, the runway gets shorter and shorter. Trump's chances get better and better. After Biden got let off the hook by Robert Hur (for being an old man with a failing memory), Trump's argument about Biden's America having a two-tiered justice system just grew more legs. If the Supreme's vote in Trump's favor, and all of these other legal entanglements start to fade away, Trump could win in a landslide. 

I know, I know. Nobody trusts the other side. The Dems could put up the most flawed candidate in the world, and if that person should beat Donald Trump - batten down the hatches. Many still feel the last election was "tainted". If Trump loses again to another more flawed candidate where there is no absolute custody of ballots, bunker up. Things might get ugly outside. 

  

Biden's curtian call

That is enough to scare even the bravest of souls.  But as goofy as she is, she still has her marbles. Besides, she would only be a seat warmer until Trump can be sworn in next January." 

Oh Joe. Did you never learn one of the toughest lessons of life? There are two things we cannot escape - growing old and death. Some go gently into the night, after living a long life of health and clarity. However, many do not. Age ravages them. And many times, it is not pretty, as age affects the memory. Sometimes in horrible diseases such as Alzheimer's or Dementia. In the case of Joe Biden (as one Democrat pundit put it), Joe has lost his "fast ball". In the eyes of others (as the economists say), Joe's memory is decreasing at an increasing rate.

The Hur Report broke yesterday. Biden and Trump had both been investigated for the same thing - improper storage of classified material out of SCIF. Biden's material was stored in broken down boxes, among junk in his garage. Some material came from his presidency, some from when he was a Veep (illegal), and maybe some from when he was a senator (more illegal). But in any event, Special Counsel Hur decided not to charge Joe Biden. Huh? Seems Mr. Hur thinks Biden is an "elderly man with a poor memory". WOW! BOMBSHELL!

Then for reasons no human being can understand, Joe decides to have a presser right after the release of this report which showed him to be failing. Joe wanted to prove to the public he was indeed alright. Instead, it became a curtain call to the report. It showed Joe live and in color, forgetting very important things. How so? Like President el-Sisi of Egypt. Joe thought he was the President of Mexico. He forgot the church where Bo's funeral was. It was a disaster. Rather than dispelling any doubt the Hur Report had on his presidency, it might have instead marked the beginning of the end of his presidency. It has put the Democrats in a heck of a pickle.

Here are the facts. Joe Biden is 81. It is not unusual for the gears to start slipping in folks that age. It happens. But here is the reality. Joe is impaired, and also the leader of the free world. Those two items mix together like oil and water. We need a president who is lucid 24 X 7, not just occasionally. To have someone with a Dementia type disability leading our nation is really a clear and present danger to all of us. It is like flying in a plane who has a pilot who dozes off.

Until we get a new POTUS, and quickly, we are (as we would say in the WestPac), in "deep kimchee". I know, I know, We have Ms. Cackle in the on-deck circle. That is enough to scare even the bravest of souls.  But as goofy as she is, she still has her marbles. Besides, she would only be a "seat warmer" until Trump can be sworn in next January. 

Can we hold on until next January? We have to. There is no other choice.     

  

"You earned it, you keep it" Act

"Anyhow, welcome to reality Congresswoman. Even though I disagree with you on most things, I strongly agree with you on this topic. ANYTHING I can do to help you get this passed, I will join you. But that is the water's edge. Anything else you propose, you are on your own." 

Could someone please pinch me? I think I might still be dreaming. Angie Craig, a stalwart Democrat, is proposing legislation which would eliminate federal tax on Social Security. A Democrat from Minnesota, who by her nature, loves to tax everything up to and including your daily eliminations, wants to free seniors from paying Social Security. WOW!

It is called the You earned it, you keep it Act. Craig introduced it at the end of January. I did watch her presser on YouTube where she introed it. I must say, besides being shocked, I was a bit disappointed. Why? Getting state Social Security tax off of our Minnesota seniors has always been a MNGOP thing. I would have thought to tackle the federal tax portion Social Security would have been a national GOP thing. I guess I was wrong.

We first started paying Social Security federal taxes in 1984. I know, I know - during Reagan's term. I wish the Gipper would have vetoed that legislation. In any event, this Craig legislation would be a good thing - a very good thing for seniors who are just hanging on right now. 

During Craig's presser, a retired teacher was asked what this meant to her. She said this would amount to a couple of grand more for her and her retired husband. After she told Craig how tight things were in her family, Craig smiled and said, "You earned it, you should be able to keep it."

I have said for a long time now, taxation of Social Security should NOT be a partisan issue. But somehow it has become one. Therefore, for a Democrat to sponsor this bill in Congress, is beyond refreshing. Maybe now the Democrats in Minnesota will wake up and eliminate the state taxes on Social Security. Or not.

Anyhow, welcome to reality Congresswoman. Even though I disagree with you on most things, I strongly agree with you on this topic. ANYTHING I can do to help you get this passed, I will join you. But that is the water's edge. Anything else you propose, you are on your own. 

Voting for lemons

"Want to fix the immigration mess before the election? There are two ways. One can happen today. Biden can reverse all his executive orders which reversed Trump's immigration policies. Or - have the Senate pass HR-2 and then have Biden sign it into law."

What is the number one issue in the country right now? The one most voters are concerned about? Immigration. Our border issues.  Yes, and yes. Yesterday with the failed vote to rid the country of DHS Secretary Mayorkas, EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT voted against impeachment. In fact, Al Green, who was undergoing surgery, had to be wheeled into the House chamber in his scrubs, just so he could vote for the very flawed Alejandro Mayorkas.

But - with the house being split almost in half by party, four Republicans voted to keep this guy in office. Some for strategic reasons, others for not. Lessons learned? The same lesson we have known for years. Democrats will circle the wagons to protect their own. No matter how inept or flawed someone is, Democrats will stick by that person like glue. Ergo, that is why Dean Phillips is looked upon as a traitor right now by the Dems. Republicans on the other hand, do constant purity tests, and often throw their own under the bus.

Democrats constantly vote for lemons. Look at Minnesota. Ellison as AG? Walz as Governor? Dayton as Govenor? Flanigan as Lt. Gov.? The Minneapolis City Council? The St. Paul City Council? Nationwide, I could go on and on. Democrats have one objective - power. They don't give two shouts and a holler how screwed up a candidate is, just so long they can keep the blues in power. Republicans on the other side, with fall on their swords, initiate circular firing squads, and eat their young just for purity. Many an election has been lost because of that practice. As one famous politician once said, "You can't govern if you don't win". Democrats took that to heart - Republicans blew it off.

Oh, we can't forget about Biden and his "diverse" cabinet. He mentioned that again yesterday. Biden did not care how qualified any of his minions were, just that they "checked some kind of DEI box". Or look at Eric Adams the other day. Showing off the NYC City Council. "Have you ever seen this much chocolate?", Adams said with glee? "Chocolate"? Really Mayor Adams? You are an idiot sir. How about their qualifications instead of their color? 

I guess there might be another vote for impeachment next week. Or not. But who cares? Even if it succeeds, it will die in the Senate. Or if the Senate would vote to remove, Biden would just put another stooge in that spot to do his bidding. BTW - did you hear that Mayorkas was a consultant in putting together the failed compromise (and bipartisan) immigration bill in the Senate? No wonder it stunk.
