"In any event, this is good news for the Red Team. Whomever gets picked will be a winner. The best part will be to watch and listen to the caterwauling coming from the lap dog press and the Democrats. Wah, wah, wah! Just wait until RBG is deemed unfit for duty, and we can replace her too. That is when the party really starts!"
This is it folks. The day many of us have been waiting for. What is that? The long awaited Trump nominee to replace Justice Kennedy. I know, I know. As nice as it would be to get rid of that "swing vote", many of us were hoping it would be to replace the American hating RBG. But it is not.Maybe that time will be coming sooner rather than later.
I know the graphic I am using is a bit dated, but I have had it for a long time, and I like it. Three problems however - it still has Justice Scalia in it (oh, how we miss him!), it does not have Justice Gorsuch in it, and RBG almost has a smile on her face. Other than that, it is cool.
I think any one of the final four would be great. I do however, have a slight preference. I like Judge Amy Coney Barrett. Why? Because she is a woman? Partly. I really like the fact she is a practicing Catholic with a slew of kids. And I like the fact she went to Notre Dame to get her law degree, rather than of the usual pedigree law schools.
Why does her being a Catholic have anything to do with it? The delicious irony. Back in 1960, when John Kennedy was running for President, the Democrats made a BIG DEAL about JFK being our first Catholic President. The Democrats were highly motivated to break that old mold. Why? There had always been this unfounded fear that a Catholic might have split loyalty to the nation and then to the Vatican. JFK proved for once and for all, for that stereotype to be false.
But today, the Democrats are shaking in their boots about having a person of strong faith, especially a Catholic, sitting on the Supreme Court. What if she does not like all the legal baby killing which has been going on since Roe v Wade? What if she votes to overturn Roe? Oh the irony! Sorry Di-Fi - your stunt in how you questioned this fine woman before, hopefully will expose you and the other statists for what they are.
Oh, yes. There is one more very important thing I like about Judge Barrett. Her age. For having as many kids as she does, she is VERY young (and accomplished). She could serve decades on the court, while being an inspiration to thousands upon thousands of young women.
One of my social media friends brought up a very good point. After tonight, the media will not be talking about North Korea, the trade war, the midterms, and not even the Mueller investigation. It will be how Trump will be stocking the court with "right wing nut balls". No glowing terms like we heard about Kagan (an impartial arbiter) and Sotomayer (that wise Latino).
In any event, this is good news for the Red Team. Whomever gets picked will be a winner. The best part will be to watch and listen to the caterwauling coming from the lap dog press and the Democrats. Wah, wah, wah! Just wait until RBG is deemed unfit for duty, and we can replace her too. That is when the party really starts!
