Over played, and out played

My, my, my. The Lions of the Senate are back! Or should I say, the Lions and the Lioness. If nothing else during this very shameful event called the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, some Republicans have rediscovered themselves. Not all, but some. Who in particular? Mitch McConnell as Leader. Chuck Grassley as Judiciary Chair. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. And yesterday, the biggest hero(ine) of them all, Susan Collins of Maine.

How did the Democrats come off during these hearings? I am trying to find the correct words which will not violate my standard of clean speech. Childish. Churlish. Rude. Immature. Narrow. Yes, I could go on and on. But the one thing the Democrats did more than any other, was to over play their hands. Not by a little bit - by a lotta bit.

It got so bad in the midst of this charade, Senator Lindsey Graham dropped his gloves and said some very pointed words rarely heard in Senate chambers. "Boy, you all (Democrats) want power. God, I hope you never get it." In that very brief speech that Senator Graham gave, the Lindsey Graham of old returned. Standing tall, with his red cape on, Lindsey was the truth teller. And he ripped the Democrats a new one.

Truthfully? These confirmation hearings could not have come at a better time for the Red Team. Yes, the Red Team acted above and beyond. With dignity and class. But the Blue Team? Holy smokes, they stuck out like a sore thumb. It was like there was a banner over their heads which said, "Do you really want this clown car in charge?"

How unhinged are the Democrats now? Now that they know how this confirmation will turn out. Senator "Stolen Valor" Blumenthal now wants to open a FOIA request to dig into more of Judge Kavanaugh's background. Even though if something is found, it will be way too late to derail this process. But - Blumenthal is doing it anyhow. I have even a better idea. We should open up a FOIA request on Blumenthal. Why? Let's see if he lied about his schooling in the same manner he lied about going to Viet Nam. We will then find out if the shoe fits on the other foot also. 

Today, as the final vote grows closer, look for the paid butt heads to be screaming, crying, cajoling, caterwauling, or whatever. Will it end once the vote is taken? Heavens no. These folks know when they have a good gig. They have been given carte blanche to act as boorish as they want to anyone on the Red Team. Heck, they are getting paid for it. And the capitol police continue to practice "catch and release."
