et tu Carole?

"If you want a "talker" as Governor, we can find many of those. But if you want a person to get under the hood and fix what ails Minnesota, I think Carol has the right idea. I know for a fact, as clear as a bell, Jeff is the right person at the right time for Minnesota. All we need do is give him our votes."

Ouch! Talk about a knife in the back. Or is it the heart? In any event, Governor Pawlenty's # 2 person, his Lieutenant Governor, has decided the view of Minnesota this year is better from Team Johnson than Team Pawlenty. Yes, Carol Molnau is not only joining Team Johnson, but she has signed on to be one of his advisers. Ouch Tim! That one might leave a bruise!

So, what is the matter with Carol? Did she take a long walk off a short pier? Is she delusional?. Mistaken? Or has she just found that eight years of Tim was enough. That a new wind is blowing in Minnesota. Change is in the air. Don't think so? Look at what is starting to happen in the St. Paul legislature. Changes, all be them small.

When I have asked some of our representatives whom I trust what is going on in St. Paul this session, the answer is most always the same. They are doing the best they can with a obstructionist Governor. "Give us a true conservative Governor in 2018, and things will really happen!". I totally agree with that. And who is that conservative Governor? I think the record, the ideas, speak for themselves. Jeff Johnson is the change agent we need. If we end up with a purple Republican or Tim Walz as our Governor, we are screwed right into the ground. Minnesota will continue its march towards becoming another California.

One of Jeff's cornerstone philosophies is we can do better. It is indeed possible to do more with less. Ending taxation without representation. Making Minnesota an "open for business" tax friendly state. Having Minnesota be a haven for seniors, rather than driving them out by taxing their Social Security. Looking at every single tax payer funded program in Minnesota. The ones which are redundant, supercilious or just plain useless - sunset them immediately.

If you want a "talker" as Governor, we can find many of those. But if you want a person to get under the hood and fix what ails Minnesota, I think Carol has the right idea. I know for a fact, as clear as a bell, Jeff is the right person at the right time for Minnesota. All we need do is give him our votes.

  1. MN has 2 weeks to try to mitigate the negative effects of Trumps Tax Scam for the 1%. Not going to happen.
They may agree on State moving from Federal Taxable income to Adjusted Gross Income, but that will be it.
MN taxpayers who received nothing from the tax plan will now take it in the shorts in 2019.
It should increase revenues unnecessarily though. Nice bonus for the next governor.

  2. Trump’s “Tax Scam”? 😂. Apparently someone didn’t listen to the panel of small business owners yesterday who were lauding Trump’s tax cuts and how well that is working out for their business, their employees and their families. Hardly “signs of a scam” — good grief.

    1. Apparently, the MN legislature doesn't agree. They are pulling out all stops to ensure that a minimum of 300,000 MN citizens aren't paying significantly more in taxes in 2019 for 2018.

    2. Re: Small Business Owners
The Trump Tax Scam offers a 20 percent deduction for qualified business income from so-called pass-through entities, which include S corporations and limited liability companies.
Under the "old" tax code, income from these small businesses would "pass-through" to the owner on her own taxes and were subject to individual income tax rates as high as 39.6 percent.
I guess it is working out for their business AND they aren't required to pass any of it through to employees.
