Bad Rice

It is almost fun to watch the Veep sweepstakes play out. Every few days, it seems there is new front runner. Of course the top of the ticket might be in question with some. One of the hosts on "The Five", does not think that Biden will make it through the convention. The powers that be in the DNC, will not want someone straight out of Loony Tunes to be their torch bearer. Plus, they also want to keep him at least a mile and a half away from Donald Trump prior to the election. In other words, no debates.

To calm the waters a bit, Uncle Joe needs to pick someone for Veep who is not a lightening rod. Whoops - that will be tough. Each and everyone of the "women of color" who is being considered and vetted, has baggage. Karen Bass, Tammy Duckworth, Kamala Harris, and now Susan Rice (aka the Benghazi Queen). With Susan Rice getting all the buzz the past few days, many on the right side of the street are licking their chops.

Wait - why would so many be licking their chops to take a run at Ms. Rice? What in the world has she done? Quite simply this - she became the sacrificial lamb for Benghazi. Hillary could not run away fast enough, and she for sure did not want to answer any questions about that mayhem. So the Obama Administration came up with this cock and bull story, about a video tape which caused a spontaneous demonstration in Benghazi. A demonstration which went horribly bad, resulting in the deaths of Ambassador Stevens and three others. 

For many of us, Benghazi is still a festering wound. We know pretty much what happened. It had NOTHING to do with a bogus video tape, and everything to do with a planned attack by the bad guys. It was after all, on the anniversary of 9/11. The bad guys launched an attack which we could have thwarted. We could have reduced the carnage and saved lives if we had sent troops in right after it started. But we did not. Some think, to bury some of the nonsense the Obama Administration had condoned with illegal arms sales, those four brave Americans needed to be burned along with our consulate to cover things up. Like I say - a festering wound. 

So Ms. Rice - since you have never held an elected office, only appointed ones, welcome to the fray. If you become candidate for Veep, and have to debate Mike Pence, a word of caution. Mike may be a nice guy and a man of God, but he can be tougher than nails. Plus he is scary smart. In a debate, he will fillet you like a walleye on opening day. He has a much different debate style than the President, but just about as effective.

Nor his love for this country and the American people. The Democrats are a train wreck right now. Not just with one or two people, I mean the entire party. They have become the do nothing, spend it all, and believe in nothing party. Is this who you want running the show from 2021 to 2025? I sure don't.

No, Susan Rice is bad rice indeed. I hate to say it, but out of the entire bunch Biden could have picked, the least offensive is a woman who is not of color. That be Amy. Yes, probably the only time I will ever give her even a tepid endorsement. And that is heavy on the word - tepid.
