Is there a question about war?

"I'm sorry - did you ask something about war? This is not "war", it is only a legal matter only..."

So you are feeling a bit confused as of late. You know something is up, something unsettling, and you are looking for direction and clarity from our leadership. Well, good luck on that one. Once again, our government is giving us important information that sounds more like it is coming from a Hydra than one, monolithic voice.

You probably remember only a short time ago, our SecDef and General Dempsey were giving a presser on the developing ISIS threat. Both looked and sounded like they had just seen a ghost. As much as they were trying to measure their words, we all suspected they had just been briefed on something bad, very bad. Well, that was just about enough for the Politburo. This group, led by the haughty John Kerry, took our war fighters into the wood shed and gave them a good scolding. They were off the reservation. They needed to temper their words. Put on a happy face. After all, this Administration is made up of war enders, not war fighters.

Even during the President's presser on September 10th, some of us walked away scratching our heads. The harshest thing our POTUS said about ISIS was they were a "cancer". What many of us wanted to hear him say is simply this: "This group of terrorists, who kill woman and children with abandon, have forfeited their right to exist. As I speak, our planes and cruise missiles are hitting hundreds of terrorist targets in Syria and Iraq. This air campaign will continue until this terror group is degraded to the point we can send in enough ground troops to finish the job."

There. That was not so hard was it? This is not a legal action, we are not going to write them a nasty letter, we are not going to negotiate with them. They gave up their right to live when they committed unspeakable acts of barbarism against innocent people in the Middle East. The fact they also cruelly beheaded two innocent Americans, only put an asterisk on the statement.

Yesterday the President's new "spokes guy" said we were at war with ISIS (gasp!). However, the leader of the Politburo (Kerry) said we were not. Huh? What the what? Our foreign policy is starting to sound more and more like our energy policy - confused and in "nowhereville". So as we dither with parsing language and trying to be "PC" enough as to not offend anyone (especially not the enemy), word is out there might be another beheading next week. What will our response be? Unfortunately, probably more of the same. Blah, blah, blah.

Many think the enemy is no longer at the gate - now they have breached our perimeter. They have sauntered across the wide open Rio Grande and into the land of the peaceniks and war enders. However, what they know is what we seem to have forgotten. When it comes to war, it does not take "two to tango" - it just one to commit heinous acts against the other. What is it the Politburo does not get about this? God help us all...
