"I for one, am tired of the ditch. Tired of being stuck in an expensive mess. Tired of tax and spend and getting little to nothing in return. Vote for change. Vote for a new deal. Vote Jeff Johnson on August 14th."
No - this not about FDR's New Deal. As most of us know, that program left us with a raft of problems. No, this is about a REAL New Deal, not FDR's THE New Deal. A REAL New Deal for the people of Minnesota, the likes of which we have never seen before. Why do we need a REAL New Deal? Look around. We have had a flood of Democrats, progressives and RINOs running this state since I was in grade school. The state has turned into an expensive mess.
Now - for the first time in forever, we have the chance to have a REAL conservative as our Governor. Not another careerist or statist to give us another RAW deal. AND - not someone to give us more of the status quo. We can have someone to give us all a new deal. A REAL New Deal.
If you have not yet guessed, I am talking about Jeff Johnson. In two weeks, the GOP ENDORSED team of Jeff Johnson and Donna Bergstrom is going to ask your help in getting over their final hurdle prior to the general election in November. That would be the primary on August 14th. Both Jeff and Donna are both chomping at the bit to go up against any one of the the three teams the DFL has put forward. No offense - none of the DFL teams have an original idea between them. Not one. Same old, same old, status quo. I can't wait for the first debate prior to the general.
Some have asked me why I support Jeff Johnson. Why I have for the past four years. My answer has never wavered. Jeff Johnson is probably the smartest, most principled person I know. He has the best education as well as government background, to be Governor. Hands down fact.
But all that aside - I support Jeff because of his vision - his view of Minnesota, and and his plans to how fix which is broken. How to prepare Minnesota for the future. Jeff does not have plans for only a small part of our state government - he has plans for the whole enchilada. Jeff wants to give us a REAL New Deal. A much better deal. For everyone.
Some wonder how Jeff will do in dealing with the Democrats in St. Paul. All one needs to do is observe how Jeff deals with a majority of Democrats on the Hennepin Board. Is he a "bomb thrower"? Not a bit. Jeff knows how to disagree without being disagreeable. Is he nice? Heck yes, he is. But is also tough? Yes, Jeff can be as tough as nails also. I have said this many times before. Jeff Johnson is not only a man for all seasons, he is also a man for all the right reasons. He is a change agent with a plan. Putting is another way, he offers hope - with a plan attached.
In 2019, Minnesota has a chance, a real chance, to change from an expensive mess to a state that others will notice of. We can shed our high "SALT" image, and become a mecca for businesses and seniors. Our education can work for all students - better reults using much less money. There will be no more taxation without representation from the Met Council. All this, plus much, much more.
But none of this will be possible if Jeff and Donna do not win the primary on August 14th. Minnesota will stay mired in the ditch. I for one, am tired of the ditch. Tired of being stuck in an expensive mess. Tired of tax and spend and getting little to nothing in return. Vote for change. Vote for a new deal. Vote Jeff Johnson on August 14th.
Hasn't raised enough money to make a sustained challenge.
ReplyDeleteProbably too ethical to trade favors for money.
Bottom line, he'll never get the chance.
