Living in the shadows

"2020 will be here before we know it. The socialists are smelling the kill shot. This election could put them over the top, and then it would be too late. Or - the good folks could step out of the shadows and decide enough is enough."

This will be a tough one today. I am calling people out - including myself. Yesterday, I penned an article about the movie Unplanned. Why did this movie need to be made? Because too many people of good character are living in the shadows. They chose not to engage. They chose not to get involved. This movie did not let you take a back seat and just eat your popcorn. It unleashed all the horrors of this vile practice, up close and personal.

Today, I am going to expand that viewpoint. I want to take it beyond abortion. Why is that? Because abortion is only a symptom of what is wrong. Our entire social fabric is becoming frayed. Unraveled. Recently, someone made a video called "Seattle is Dying". It is about this once proud city, this one time headquarters to Boeing, this current headquarters to Amazon - starting to look like a third world country. Why? How? Socialism. Welcome to our version of Venezuela.

Many of the good folks in Seattle decided to live in the shadows for years while the specter of socialism gradually took over their city. Soon, law enforcement was stripped of much of their power. Crime took over the streets. Filth and feces became commonplace. Tent cities were popping up all over the city. Drugs, now very available, started killing young people either quickly, or inch by inch. The crime rate is the second highest of any major city - only to be outdone by another large socialist city - San Francisco.

This is a sad state of affairs for a country once made strong by the Greatest Generation. In that very short period of time between 1950 and now, we have collectively taken our eye off the ball. We have become a country at war with itself. The battle lines seem to be drawn on the borders of our large metropolitan cities. The folks living out state of those large cities, look at what is happening with amazement and bewilderment. Some want to be involved in fixing the unfixable. Others just want to stay in the shadows. Meanwhile, our representative democracy has started to resemble a socialist dystopia more every day.

Is this the America we want? Look at the clown car which is holding all the misfits running for President on the Blue Team. Not one of them can stop the slide in to Gomorrah. In fact, many will only hasten the process. Is there anything, anyone can do? There is. But first we need to step out of the shadows. We need to say in the clearest of all terms, this is not all right. This is our country, given to us by the Founders. And we want it back.

Here is the secret which not enough people know. There are more of us than of them. Fact. We could take our country back as soon as the next election. We could fix our education system so it educates and not indoctrinates. We can protect all life, especially the lives of the unborn. Our healthcare system could be resurrected from the ruins of ObamaCare. We can empower our law enforcement once again to enforce our Constitutional laws. And  -secure our borders, so our southern flank no longer looks like a third world mess.

2020 will be here before we know it. The socialists are smelling the kill shot. This election could put them over the top, and then it would be too late. Or - the good folks could step out of the shadows and decide enough is enough. Bring our country back from the brink. Are we really at that point? Oh, yes. That and more so.
