Speaking truth in a doubtful world

"Ronald Reagan must be spinning in his grave right now. 'Eleventh Commandment - Those shall not speak ill of a fellow Republican.' Man, oh man - have we ever forgotten that lesson. Now it is purity test after purity test."

Today at the CD 6 Convention, one of the candidates for a MN GOP office did something seldom heard at stump speeches - a large dose of truth telling. How do I know it was truth? Because this has been a bug-a-boo of mine for a long time. With who? With some of my fellow Republicans. Anyhow, this candidate said our party is very fractured right now. And to win the day in 2020, we need to become un-fractured - and fast. For if we keep taking pot shots at each other, shooting our wounded, and eating our young, we are going to be way on the outside looking inside after the election in 2020. And we will have nobody to blame but ourselves.

Now, not everyone is like that. Most play fair and by the rules. Whomever wins the nomination and then the election, is supported by the troops. That is the way the socialists do it, and it sure worked fine for them in 2018. My guess is this is in their playbook for 2020 also.

I talked with one former delegate who was seething at one or two of our candidates. I listened politely and then pointed out I had never heard this person dress down a democrat or socialist with that much venom. "Well, it is different!", this person said in an agitated voice. And then came the kill shot. "I am so disgusted, I probably won't even vote this time around." Bingo! Now you can see one of the reasons our landscape changed colors to a bright blue in 2018.

The candidate who gave this advice, was also giving us a warning. We either come to together, or we lose. Plain and simple - fact. Meanwhile the weirdos and wingnuts on the other side keep going further and further to the Left - and nobody stops them. They will still get their troops to vote for them, even if they make Karl Marx look like a choir boy.

Ronald Reagan must be spinning in his grave right now. "Eleventh Commandment - Those shall not speak ill of a fellow Republican." Man, oh man - have we ever forgotten that lesson. Now it is purity test after purity test. Winning? Who cares. Let's just make sure we are pure when we lose big.

There it is folks. We have about 18 months to get our shit together, or as the President says, 2020 will be the beginning of the end for America. If you have an issue with someone on our side, TELL THAT PERSON. Don't spread that manure all over social media. Have the guts and courtesy to tell the person so it can be resolved. Otherwise losing will be the only thing we will be good at.

  1. Clean up your act before 2020 voting or you'll be on the losing end. I believe patriots (GOP) should take a purity test prior to being allowed in BPOU's.
Something similar to The Mischling Test under Nazi Germany's Nuremberg Law
With the "Patriots Purity Test" only people with at least 4 grandparents born in America would be allowed to attend.
The applicant shall have no family member from grandchildren back to grandparents who ever had an abortion.
Gun ownership with proof of Conceal and Carry card.
No marriage, relationship or progeny with "undesirables".
Only then will you be allowed into your BPOU.

  2. What bilge. Too many Republicans just don't understand binary thinking. You can vote for a Republican or for a Democrat. NOT voting does not magically put a third choice on the ballot, and ANY Republican is better than every Democrat and I can prove it. Have your endorsement battles and pick the most conservative (if that is your wont) candidate that can WIN, then get out and make sure that candidate wins. Simple.
