Yesterday, the Vice President of the Minneapolis City Council, was held "captive" by what the press is calling a group of "activists". Yes, because they were socialists, the press called them "activists". If they were citizens or patriots, they would be called terrorists (or worse). And the act of holding Andrea Jenkins hostage would have been called an insurrection. It would have gone down in the Minneapolis history books as our own version of January 6th.
Wait a minute Bird! Andrea Jenkins is about as left of center as one can get. What in the world did the socialists want with her/him/they? For starters, they wanted to get her commitment to reign in the police some more. More oversite on the cops. Get rid of the Mayor. Save George Floyd Square. Blah, blah, blah.
Get rid of more cops? How is that working out for our big blue cities? How is that working out for Minneapolis? We all know the answer to that. The socialists also know how that has been working out - like, it is not. So, here is what they could do. Reverse course, admit this did not work, and restore their police forces (that is, if they could get any new recruits these days). Or - go back to chapter one in their play book. Blame the Republicans. And that is exactly what they are doing.
After listening the other day, to some moron who is one Biden's staff, go on and on spewing the "BIG LIE", I had about had it. He was saying defunding police was all on the Republicans - then it hit me. The name for this article. Under adult leadership (which big blue cities do not have right now), the motto is "crime watch". Preventing crime, and when it does happen, going after the perps, and punishing them. However with the socialists in charge, we have been "watching crime". Out of control, wild, wild west crime in most large cities. Gangs of thugs and predators, stalking their prey in not only the dark, but also (brazenly), in broad daylight.
Many think we might have already gone around the bend. We have made the profession of being a law enforcement officer in large cities so toxic, so unwelcome, so unsupported, new recruits are few and far between. Large swaths of mature, experienced cops could smell the roses months ago. They took early retirement, or claimed disability. What is left? Skeleton police forces, who have been handcuffed by their city leaders.
Where will this end? In the suburbs, exurbs, and further out. That is where people will move, if they can.
