Isolated, alone, and dangerous?

"Isolated. Alone. How does it feel Mr. Putin? In his mind, Putin has done nothing wrong. It is the West's fault, for not showing enough respect for Russia. Therefore, he has nothing to lose."

Another day, another day of terror for the folks in Kyiv, who have stayed behind. The big, bad bear is at the doorstep, just waiting to unleash more damaging and deadly firepower on the innocent. What are we doing to stop this carnage? Not much. Someone said yesterday, if not for Russia having nukes, we would have already unleashed our A-10 Warthogs on that 40 mile long line of armor. But Russia does have nukes. About 6,000 of them to be exact. So we stand down and watch. Watch in horror.

I have said this in past articles. This "victory" (if Putin can obtain it), will be Pyrrhic. A Pyrrhic Victory, is one where even though victorious, that victory would come at a great cost. It is named after Pyrrhus of Epirus, whose victory over the Romans, cost Pyrrhus most of his army, thereby ending his campaign. Even though Pyrrhus won, he still lost. It would be a good history for Putin to bone up on. And he should do it sooner, rather than later.

Yesterday, Apple pulled the plug on selling products in Russia. Ouch! Apple has joined the long line of companies and organizations, who are treating Russia like a pariah. The sanctions continue to roll in, and the Oligarchs are now the ones who are taking it in the shorts. More and more countries are closing off their airspace for Russian air traffic. In just about one week, Putin has gone from and enigma, to a real bastard. A real, and very hated, bastard.

I think the frosting on the cake, which showed how the global sentiment is shaping up towards both Russia and the Ukraine, happened in two different venues. First, when Zelenskyy addressed an EU meeting from his secret bunker, he was received very warmly. At the end of his address, Zelenskyy received a prolonged standing "O". It was quite a sight to behold.

The other venue happened at the UN. When Sergei Lavrov addressed the UN Human Rights Council, he had to do it remotely. Why? Too many countries would not allow Russian aircraft to fly over their airspace. So Lavrov needed to do it remotely. When he started his address, dozens of delegates stood up, and walked out in protest. Zelenskyy gets a standing "O" from his address, and Lavrov gets protested. And this is just the beginning. Russia, could become a very toxic name to even utter. Like I said, Putin's victory (if it happens), will be very Pyrrhic

Isolated. Alone. How does it feel Mr. Putin? In his mind, Putin has done nothing wrong. It is the West's fault, for not showing enough respect for Russia. Therefore, he has nothing to lose. Plus - he and his generals have been drinking their own bathwater. They actually believe a nuclear war might be winnable. And their hypersonic missiles will best our defenses. They have gone from a MAD doctrine, to a winnable outcome. And that - is what makes Russia so dangerous right now.

  1. Because they bragged about their missiles, I suspect their main objective was propaganda.
