In a perfect world of borders...

"By the way, for my friends on the Left. President Trump is dead on this border issue. And his base is 100% behind him. This issue will not go away until it is fixed - so let's fix it. Now."

Thinking this morning as a Utopian, let me lay out how things should world in a perfect world. First off, there are no people of ill or bad intentions. Everyone is good and honest. We do not have a border patrol, nor ICE agents. Don't need them. We have no wall or fences on our southern and northern borders. When someone who is not a citizen, and does not have the legal right to cross our borders gets to our boundaries, they simply stop and turn around. That is the "La-La" land many progressives live in.

Back to reality. What is our southern border in reality? It is an open door, inviting all kinds of bad stuff and illegal people to cross. Thanks to the Bush/Obama "Catch and Release" program, if you can make into our country, get caught, and then released with a future immigration court date, you just won the prize. Most get lost "in the wind" and are never heard from again. Or - some are heard from over and over as they commit crimes, get caught released, come back - you know the story.

My opinion as a citizen, as a red blooded conservative, is we cannot be tough enough on our border security. What to I call bringing the National Guard down to the border? A good start - but tepid.. My real preference would be to tweak the Posse Comitatus law to allow ARMED troops to help patrol the border. Why? It is a national defense and security issue.

Here is a news flash for the Utopians. America cannot take in every immigrant and refugee who wants to come here. We need to bring in people who 1) want to assimilate, and 2) can help out. I often wonder (I think these numbers are kept very close to the vest), how much money we spend bringing in people who do nothing to contribute to the country. Many don't speak English (and have no desire to do so), can't read, and therefore can't or won't work. That has to stop and now.

Not too long ago on one of the cable news shows, people who live on our side of the southern border were interviewed. People in the rest of the country have no clue to the crap these folks have to put up with. Most walk around armed to the teeth, because they feel their country can't protect them. Their land is constantly littered with garbage fence jumpers leave behind.

By the way, for my friends on the Left. President Trump is dead on this border issue. And his base is 100% behind him. This issue will not go away until it is fixed - so let's fix it. Now.

  1. It is incumbent on Americans to be united in our rebuke of DIC's hostility toward immigrants.
    Patriotism is not sloganeering.
You can’t make America great again by maligning the people who made it so.
The pilgrims who landed at Plymouth Rock were undocumented migrants who survived thanks to the grace of Native Americans. Our nation was enriched thanks to the blood and sacrifice of millions of coerced migrants from Africa.
America was connected thanks to the toil of Chinese railroad workers.
Great cities like New York, Chicago and others owe their existence to the labor of European immigrants.
Our nation is a testament to the immigrant experience.
While I understand the need for an immigration framework, we can arrive at a solution of a fair and equitable immigration system without marginalizing people who come to America with hope for a new future as DIC's grandfather once did.
