Syria's death wish

"The Dogs of War might be getting ready to be unleashed. Will Syria become the tinderbox so many have feared in the Middle East? Or is this just going to be yet another game for brinkmanship, brought to you by the former Cold War super powers."

I have said this before. I weep for the people of Syria. They do not deserve the hand they have been dealt. They truly are caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. Assad is a bastard, ISIS are murdering thugs, and there are scads of Russians roaming all over the place. They are literally trapped with no way out. The UN has been worthless, and the coalition of the willing became the gang of the unwilling under the leadership of Barack Obama. Saying these are hard times for the innocent people in Syria, is a gross understatement.

Let's be honest. Assad has allowed Syria to become nothing more than a client state of Russia and a de facto ally of Iran. Why is it bad guys always seem to attracted each other, just like they are made of magnets? Now Russia is getting ready to sacrifice some of its own troops. Put them in harm's way of incoming American cruise missiles. That way they can not only play the victim, but also justify trying to take out one of our ships. Things could turn ugly in a nanosecond.

By the way, some might wonder where the nerve gas came from since Obama said he eliminated it from Syria during his term. Okay, Mr. Obama - are you sure? Back before the Iraq War, everybody and his or her brother, knew Saddam had WMD - in particular, nerve agents.  Heck, even Slick Willie believed it. Then the war started and boom! It all vanished. It left President Bush and Colin Powell with a bit of egg on their faces. The Left thought it was the BIG LIE by the Bush Administration just to get us into a war with Iraq.

Many experts believe the nerve gas was smuggled out of Iraq into Syria, as well as the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon. If that is true, and with the amount of nerve agents we believe Saddam to once had, there is plenty left for the taking. Which means - more atrocities by Assad against his civilians could be in the future.

Anybody envy President Trump right now? I sure don't. On one hand, we can't allow this kind of illegal and immoral carnage to continue. Not for one more day. On the other hand, we have Putin (the puppet master) just waiting to make us look foolish and/or hawkish. He has already said publicly this nerve attack, as well as the one before, were (paraphrase) "fake news".

How bad of an actor is Putin these days? The United States put forth a resolution in the UN that a totally neutral and unbiased group of professionals be allowed into Syria to ascertain if this nerve gas attack was "fake news" or real. Russia vetoed it. Then Russia agreed to send in a team into Syria of its own choosing. Really? That idea died in its tracks.

So here we sit. The "Dogs of War" might be getting ready to be unleashed. Will Syria become the tinderbox so many have feared in the Middle East? Or is this just going to be yet another game for brinkmanship, brought to you by the former Cold War super powers. Time will tell. Nerve racking days might be in our future.

I liked it and if you are like me and enjoy movies like the first Taken the original Death Wish and all other great action movies with a 1 man against the world theme then this flick is for you,. If you like safe spaces, trigger warnings and call every one a nazi if they don't hold your view of the world then you probably already gave this movie a 1 star review without watching it in the first place. Some people are saying Stallone should have played the hero but I think Stallone would be all wrong for this role. Bruce Willis was perfect as the heartbroken renegade vigilante Dad seeking justice. This is a great film, a really solid and satisfying revenge action thriller. It's also quite funny in parts and you can't help but love Bruce Willis in this. See more: https://365movies.is/movies/avengers-infinity-war-04053.html
