Come to Minnesota!!! Please???

Okay. I had to hit the books this afternoon rather than freezing on the streets of Duluth. Hit the books how? A friend of mine (Left side of the street) who comments on many of my blog posts, hit me up with a show stopper. That Minnesota is not so bad after all. In fact, it is really pretty cool. He said that more people are coming to this state than are leaving. Turns out he was only half right.

Since 1990, Minnesota has gained people from one segment of the population. We are gaining immigrants, legal and illegal, from overseas. That is our population bump. Many of these people are without adequate language skills or the type of work experience many employers are looking for. Actually, many are of such low skills and English, they are now part of our welfare "system".

But - and this is the money shot - we are losing our domestic immigrants to other states. Sure, some are coming in, but many more are leaving. Leaving? To go where? Some leave for warmer climates (and tax benefits) by living in those states six months and one day. Others stay all year long in states like Florida, Texas, Arizona and points south and west.

I checked three different sources for my data. BTW - they were not Right wing hit pieces. The data is all very similar. We are losing jobs, people and money to border states. Even though this trend started in the early 2000's, it really took off in 2013. Why? Marx Dayton and his DFL historic tax INCREASE.

The facts speak for themselves. Really? Really. Just look at the news about Mosaic from this week. A big company headed down to Florida. Why? Three guesses, and one is not the orange juice. Florida (trust me, I have seen it), has "Welcome to Florida, Open for Business" signs all over the place. All Minnesota has to offer is high taxes and more regulations, thanks to the Overlord and his Blue Team.
