"Jeff on the other hand, will continue to criss-cross the state in that 2011 Jeep, shaking hand after hand, raising dollar by dollar, to get vote by vote. Why? The people of MN want more Trump type change and reform in their government, and a whole lot less Jeb like status quo."
Here we are, barely a week after the endorsing convention, and already things are falling into place. For some of us, we believe we have seen this movie before. When was that? In 2016. During the Republican debates for President. One of the early odds on favorites was Jeb Bush. Why? The establishment, the country club Republicans, loved him. Jeb was flush with cash and media coverage. The well healed upper crust showered Jeb with money. Jeb then spent almost $130 on every vote he got. Donald Trump on the other hand, who is a multi-billionaire, spent only $5.19 per vote.
Wait a minute! That does not make any sense! Money gets votes! Well, that is unless people are tired of the same old, same old crap. However, when it came to Jeb, most had seen that movie before. This guy Trump on the other hand, came in from the outside. He knew how to appeal to the common man and woman. The ones who had not represented in the past. The ones who knew that country club Republicans only took care of other country club Republicans.
We all know the history. Donald Trump smoked the field on a shoestring budget. He was, and still is, a man of the people. In Minnesota, we have a man who is similar to Donald Trump (in some ways). Jeff Johnson does not get excited about country club Republicans. He has seen enough of them in his lifetime. But he does get very excited about everyday Minnesotans. The ones who have been taxed too much, and represented too little. The ones whose voices have been muted by all the PC crip crap that comes out of Washington and St. Paul. Jeff is not just a guy who wants to change the score on the scoreboard - he also wants to change the playing field. Where the common working folks of MN have the same access to government as the well healed and well connected.
I would like to say that Tim Pawlenty has the same moniker as iconoclasts like Donald Trump and Jeff Johnson. But that would be a lie. Rather than channeling Donald Trump, Tim has chosen to channel Jeb Bush instead. He is dancing on the ends of the strings help up by the very well healed. The well healed in St. Paul, Wall Street and Florida.
Jeff Johnson is not. Trust me - I am working on Jeff's campaign. At one of our 6 pm campaign meetings, we were served a gourmet supper. We had some water, and a half jar of peanuts for refreshments. Why? Jeff's money comes in dollar by dollar, received handshake by handshake, to get vote by vote. Most money received is used to get Jeff's money out via media.
Jeff Johnson has never lived or worked in the swamp. He is truly a man from the people, of the people and now for the people. He is driven - no consumed, by the idea that we can all do better. Not just some of us - all of us. We tried Tim on for eight years. The suit did not fit well. The things which needed to be changed were left unchanged. Once TPaw left office, the table was set for Mark Dayton. Now, the state is almost in ruins.
Sorry Tim - the states does not want any Jeb Bush clones. Go ahead and pepper this state with money leading up to the primary. By doing so, with many of us in the base, you will continue to be a pariah.
Jeff on the other hand, will continue to criss-cross the state in that 2011 Jeep, shaking hand by hand, raising dollar by dollar, to get vote by vote. Why? The people of MN want more Trump type change and reform in their government. And a whole lot less of Jebb like status quo.
Only hiccup to your dream is Jeff is no Donald who gets the press to give him billions in earned media where with Jeff the could barely care less
