Fauci Madness!

"We should not be leading the world in infections. We should not be destroying our cities. We should not have an economy which almost tanked. We can do so much better. Let's have the next 6 months make us forget about the first six months of this year."

I'm sorry. He is growing very old. In fact, the entire virus team is growing old on me. Under their direction, we have allowed this virus to just about ruin the country. "Wear a mask. Stay six feet away from everyone. Don't be around crowds indoors." Meanwhile, the United States leads the world in COVID - 19 infections. Not by a little - by a lot. Why do I blame our virus team for that horrible honor? This is why.

I have quoted this stat before. Japan, which holds a larger city than New York City, has very modest COVID - 19 statistics. For an entire population of just over 125 million (just over 1/3 of our population), Japan has only had less than 20,000 cases and 1,000 deaths. How about us? In New York City alone, we have almost 220,000 cases with almost 22,000 deaths. Is it just Japan that is doing so good? Are they a "one off"?

Well, how about South Korea? Their stats are even more impressive. For a country with a population of just under 52 million, their COVID - 19 stats are less than 13,000 cases with less than 300 deaths. In other words, little old Minnesota with a population of almost 6 million, we have over 36,000 confirmed cases with over 1,440 deaths. So what gives? Why can Japan and South Korea do so much better than us. The is where I want our virus gurus to focus. Because for some reason, Japan and South Korea have the recipe, and we don't.

One more? This one will really blow you away. Singapore and Hong Kong, two tightly packed cities with a combined population of 13 million, have only 27 deaths between them (as of the end of May). The Wall Street Journal had an interesting article about these two cities. If we did, what they are doing to combat the virus, and had the same statistics, our death count would be less than 5,000 instead of over 100,000.

This is the type of information I am interested in. Let's peel back the onion a bit, and get more facts. I only know this - what ever we are doing IS NOT WORKING! Let's imitate and emulate what the far eastern countries and big cities are doing. I mean, this is nuts. Some are already talking about a second shut down, as Fauci said our infections could go as high as 100,000 a day. WHAT? That would be more in one day, than Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore have seen since January 1st.

That is all I have today. Just a rant. It started when I realized that 2020 is now half over, and it has been a very crappy first half. This country can do better on so many things. This virus, for example. We should not be leading the world in infections. We should not be destroying our cities. We should not have an economy which almost tanked. We can do so much better. Let's have the next 6 months make us forget about the first six months of this year.
