Enter the blockade runners?

"Vladimir Putin has shown us cruelty unlike the world has seen for decades. He has demonstrated the most carnal of all sub-human instincts. To kill innocents, to destroy at abandon, to allow people to starve - these are without measure."

What kind of a country would willingly and forcefully invade a sovereign neighbor? What kind of country would kill innocent women and children just for the sport of it? What kind of a country would kidnap 200,000 children from another country, and put them in "re-education camps"? What kind of a country would bomb and shell a building which was clearly marked "children". And what kind of a country would deliberately withhold and blockade sea shipments of grain to feed a hungry world? If you guessed Putin's Russia, you guessed right.

Yesterday on the news, a retired United States Admiral gave the same dire warning the General Secretary of the UN recently gave. If we (the free world) do not start escorting grain shipments out of the Azov and Black Seas, many in this hungry world are going to starve. There will be food riots and general mayhem. So what does this mean we need to do? Basically putting allied man-of-war ships, up against Russian man-of-war ships, to allow grain shipments to get through.

If your "spider senses" are starting to tingle at this one, you are not alone. The first time a Russian and allied warship exchange fire, it could put us at the tipping point. Mr. "itchy finger" Putin might look at that as an excuse to use one of his Satan II nukes against a NATO (or us) country. And then where will this war be? What everyone has been afraid of, might come to fruition. A Euro wide, all out battle, between NATO and Russia.

But what is the result if the world does not act? Let millions go without enough food? Let children die from hunger? Engage the world in more, not less, suffering? What is wrong with Russia? What is wrong with a people who allow such a cruel and uncaring person lead them? Biden was chastised by the press for calling for regime change in Russia months ago. I will also call for regime change. The people of Russia need it. The people of the world need it.

If the world cannot fight totalitarianism to protect the least of us, what then, are our values? Could protecting this grain to help feed a hungry planet lead to a world war? Absolutely. But this might be the hill worth dying on. The UN has already turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to the thousands upon thousands of war crimes that Russia has committed against Ukraine.

But this - this is a crime against humanity itself. Africa will be the hardest hit by not getting this grain. Is this being our brother's keeper? Are we going to sit back, and do nothing? Or are we being called to act? Now is the time to stiffen our spines and check our resolve.

Vladimir Putin has shown us cruelty unlike the world has seen for decades. He has demonstrated the most carnal of all sub-human instincts. To kill innocents, to destroy at abandon, to allow people to starve - these are without measure. Evil still lurks and prowls over the land - and that land is called Russia.

  1. Nice choice: Looks like lose-lose to me. Maybe the stuff should go overland.
