Something bad this way comes...

"Does something bad, this way comes? Sure seems that way at times. Maybe - if we let it. We are still the land of milk and honey. But we need to have a government which will allow us to feed, heat and nurture the world."

One of the benefits of being the age I am, it is harder and harder to be surprised. Something happens, and more times than not, I think, "Oh, I have seen that before - or at least, something very similar." I am sure other septuagenarians have had the same feelings. But what is happening in our world and our country, is a new one on me. In fact, it is not only new, but is also very unsettling.

Actually, I am starting to feel like we might be on the edge of a precipice. Edging ever closer to a cliff, which at the bottom of the cliff, sits a bottomless pit. What is it? Our way of life, the American way - and it feels like it about to change.

Things we have taken for granted in the past (like eating, driving, and staying warm in the winter), might be changing before the year is over. How so? The price of regular gasoline is just under $5/gal right now. In about a dozen states, it is over $5/gal. One industry analyst said by Independence Day, gas in the $5/gal range would be "common", nation wide. And the trip upward will not stop there.

As we slide into winter, the next shock will set in. Natural Gas is up 200%. Why? All part of the master plan. The one which most of us did NOT vote for. Make internal combustion cars so unfordable, they will become undrivable. Force folks into electric cars, which today, are not yet ready for prime time. Then make the heating of homes, suitable only to be done by "green" energy. Make natural gas (even though we have decades of it left underground in the US), unaffordable. In fact, in MA, there is a law where new homes construction MAY NOT be heated with natural gas - only windmills and solar. Good luck with that one!

What about the rest of the world? This is where it gets bad. Russia. Remember them? The country with 6,000 nukes who want to nuke us? The weekly threats? Here is how it will play out. Russia, is firing missiles from inside its territory into Ukraine. So the citizens in Ukraine, are just sitting ducks. We have told Ukraine that we will supply longer range missiles to them which will reach into Russia. Seems fair - right? Not to Putin. He knows he has Biden cowed. So Putin has told us, that any missile which is supplied by us, and fired into Russia, will be responded to with a nuke on American soil. And that - is a this year thing.

Speaking of Russia, next man up, please. The manmade famine. Russia wants to blockade any grain shipments coming out of Ukraine. This is from last year's grain harvest (before the war). The UN has put Russia on notice, that the UN countries (other than Russia and its cronies), will not put up with that. If this grain cannot get to market, famine will grip Europe, Africa and beyond. And to break this blockade - we will need to sink Russian ships and kill Russian sailors. And then what???

Does something bad, this way comes? Sure seems that way at times. Maybe - if we let it. We are still the land of milk and honey. But we need to have a government which will allow us to feed, heat and nurture the world. With our current administration, we have gone from benefit givers to needy benefit receivers. Remember that in November.
