WTH Virginia???

"Virginia, time to grow up. Purge all these dastardly Democrats from your system and let the grownups once again be in charge. You are better than this Virginia - much better."   

When I was in heat of my working days, one of the quips I would often tell when asked where I live, would be this - "Sometimes Minnesota, but mostly Virginia". Why would I say that? I have been to Washington DC over 200 times in my lifetime. When I would go there for business or for Navy, I would mostly stay in Virginia. I was there so much one year, I was afraid I would have to pay Virginia state taxes.

Now, what does that story have to do with the price of tea in China? Only this - I believe I got to know the State of Virginia. The people. The culture. Even though Virginia was one of the 13 Confederate States, it never felt that southern to me. And it certainly never felt redneck. I worked with all kinds of people, from all races, and never witnessed any discrimination.

After reading and watching the news this week, I guess I might have been wrong. Especially about the state Democrats. "Black face"? Really? Well, the Governor and Attorney General said (even though innocent), it was from the 80's, man! You know - back then, everybody did it as a joke. It was nothing personal. 

Well here is a news flash. When I was growing up in the 60's, I never saw ANYONE do "black face". Why? First, it is not funny. Not then, not now. Second, even back in my time, it would have been considered to be inappropriate. For these three Democrats holding high office in Virginia, two accused of using "black face" (or white hood) in college, and the other forcing oral sex on a woman at the DNC convention in 2004 - it is time to go.

Right now, the DNC powers that be are pooping tacks about this issue. From a PR perspective, it is killing the Democrats. How in the world can they keep accusing the Republicans of being racists and sexists, when they have these three stooges running Virginia government? Plus (and this is the cherry on the pie), the next in line to be Governor of Virginia after these three are gone - is a Republican. Oh, the irony!

Virginia, time to grow up. Purge all these dastardly Democrats from your system and let the grownups once again be in charge. You are better than this Virginia - much better.   

Out coached - again...

After the latest super bowl was over, and the Rams walked off the field shaking their heads, wondering what just hit them, their young coach was asked his opinion of the outcome of the game. "I was out coached. Simple as that." Yes he was. As big of a jerk as Belichick can be, he is a damn good coach. And this was the Ram's first time on the big stage - especially for the Ram's young coach. The rest is history. 

Last night was the long awaited (and postponed) State of the Union address. Oh, Ms. Nancy was locked and loaded. She had set the ambush for the President. To make him look small. She had the goofball who lost the Georgia Governor's race, give the rebuttal address (yes, the speech nobody watched). She had many of the gals on the Democrat side dress up in white to embarrass the President. Embarrass him about what? You know - all the misogyny this White House practices. Huh?

After the President started to quote some statistics about how well the economy is doing. All the people who are now employed. How we have a record number of unemployed in the black and brown communities. AND - what percentage of the new jobs created are filled by women. Seems like the majority of them. THEN - the President did the kill shot. While talking about all the women who are now employed, he acknowledged the large number of new women in Congress. Including all the Democrat zombies dressed up in white. 

After that it was all down hill for the Democrats. They scowled when they heard that killing the unborn was wrong. It was really killing one of God's creation. They scowled when the President talked about how bad socialism is - especially in Valenzuela. They did clap (other than for themselves) for the child with cancer, for the WWII vets, and the Jewish man who survived a Nazi death camp (that must have been a tough one for Omar). 

Let me just wrap this up by saying this. In my view, it was the best SOTU I had ever watched. Not just because of how well the President did - also how foolish the Democrats looked. Spoiled brats. I have other terms, but this is a family friend blog, so I will stop there.

Just a closing note to the Trump haters. You may hate him until the cows come home. This is a free country, and you are free to do so. But there is no doubt, none what-so-ever, that this billionaire CEO knows how to make things better. And this country is humming right now. The economy is s*** hot, and we have more jobs than people looking.

Thank you President Trump for all that you do for this country. Thank you for being a patriot. And most of all, thank you for beating Hillary Clinton. She would have ruined the country. Plus - this is for you, Ms. Nancy. Grow the hell up, and get those dentures fixed! 

Our New "Green" (or raw) Deal

"Tonight is the STOU. It should be good. Hearing Donald Trump after hearing the likes of AOC, Omar, Warren and Spartacus, will be like a breath of fresh air. It will be listening to an adult instead of teenagers who have done too many drugs." 

Here is the big shocker of the week so far. Mr. Starbucks (aka Howard Schultz), who has only hinted at the fact he might run for President in 2020, is polling very well with the Democrats. What? How can that be? My opinion? There are still some on the Left who still have a modicum of logic. Of common sense. They have heard the fruitcakes spout and pontificate their unsustainable ideas, and then, all of a sudden - here comes a guy who actually makes some financial sense. Stay tuned to this one folks.

Meanwhile, our own CD 5 Congresswoman has doubled down on her nutty idea. Instead of a range of 70 to 90 percent to tax the very rich, she recently settled on 92% tax rate for the rich (don't ask me why). Because she was never educated, she really does live in "La-La" land. Unlike where she came from, America is a free country. If for some reason, we ever get to the point where taxation once again becomes confiscatory, the job creators (along with their money), would leave the country. It really is a simple as that. 

But Omar looks tame in contrast to AOC. No, it is not just her wild looks and her goofy statements. Let's look at her "New Green Deal". We will be able to pay for this by simply taxing the "greedy" rich so they pay their "fair share". Oh, really? Since some of the specifics of this "New Green Deal" have been leaked, a few very smart bean counters have looked at the dollars and cents. In fact, one think tank was recently quoted that to implement everything the "New Green Deal" that AOC advocates, could cost as much as $47 trillion over the next ten years. Jill Stein's "New Green Deal" plan however, is much more moderate. Her plan would only cost $10 T over the next ten years.

If it is only $10 trillion over the next 10 years, that is chump change compared to all the money we have spent on wars. Or is it? It has been estimated that ALL wars we have been involved in, ranging from the Revolutionary War to today, is about $7 trillion. Plus - the forty year War on Drugs has cost a mere $1 trillion dollars. And the fifty year War on Poverty has cost $15 trillion dollars. All of a sudden, these dollar amounts being estimated for the New Green Deal, be it Stein's plan, or AOC's - is out of this world expensive. Unsustainable type of expensive.

Whatever the plan the Lefties have, if it is free tuition, forgiveness of all student loans, Medicare for all, or income redistribution - we can't afford it. Back to Howard Schultz for a minute. Yes, he is a billionaire. Yes, he did found and own a large American corporation. That by itself gives him some street cred to say the following - our national debt is killing us.
To implement ANY of these Leftie plans would take our national debt and put afterburners on it. 

The war for the hearts and minds on the Left side of the street is just beginning. Clear thinking Democrats (and there are precious few of them), know that the nut balls running in their party are un-electable. They really need someone to be closer to the middle to get the independent vote. If the nut balls prevail, it will be very good for Donald Trump and the citizens of this country. The Democrat Party will self destruct after they spin totally out of control.

Subjection - and all that goes with it...

Subjection. A word which makes the skin crawl, and the hair on the back of the neck stand up on many liberty loving Americans. Why? Historical reasons. The root word in subjection of course is subject. As in to be a subject. Like a subject of a monarch, ruler or dictator. In this country, we fought a war of independence so we could be citizens and no longer subjects. But be advised folks. There are powerful forces in our country who would love to see you become subjects once again.

For those who are not familiar with the infrequently used word subjection, a brief definition. "One who is placed under authority or control." Even writing that short abridged definition was hard for me. It smacks against every drop of liberty blood which flows through my veins.

Watching the new Congress in Washington as well as our new legislature in Minnesota, gives me pause. What exactly are we trying to do in each of those bodies? Reaffirm our freedoms and liberties as spelled out in our state and national constitutions? Or chip away at them. And the "chipping away" does not have to be big chunks all at once. The statists and progressives are often satisfied with getting a "drip, drip, drip" until the underpinnings of a freedom is weakened.

When we elect leaders in a republic, we elect people to represent us. Not to control us. Not to have dominion over us. Not to make us subjects. The government is a tool to be used by the people - the people are not tools of the government. And this ladies and gentlemen - is the great divide between the two major parties in this country. One party yearns for subjection - the other yearns for liberty. And the two opposing viewpoints are as comparable as oil and water. 

A famous quote of John Adams is "liberty once lost is lost forever". Bingo. He was warning his contemporaries as well as those of us who would follow to be vigilant. Liberty is a fragile thing. Powerful forces are always at the ready to take yours away. Either all at once, or by the "drip, drip, drip". 

I don't believe in my lifetime, I have seen as many forces against our freedoms and liberties aligned in power like we have now. Avowed and committed socialists. Statists. Progressives. Marxists. Anarchists. People who cannot stand the liberties as defined in our Constitution. And the Constitution itself? That old, outdated document, MUST be changed. Include healthcare as a right, and delete the Second Amendment. Yes, they would love to do this.

These are modern day Paul Revere days. We know they are coming, but we just need to know where and how. Stick close to your brothers and sisters who are liberty lovers. Are Democrats becoming modern day Nazis?

Oh boy! This is like throwing chum on the water! This should get the wires buzzing! Why in the world would I have an article with such an inflammatory title? Because it's true. And since I have made this accusation, I guess it is time to back it up with facts.

Gun Control - I will address gun control first. In the 1930's when the Nazis were starting to come into power, they wanted to disarm groups who were considered "enemies" of the state. Kind of like Red Flag laws gone wild. Soon, the Jewish people became enemy number one to the Nazi regime. Thus, no Jew was allowed to own a gun. Many historians have discussed this issue. Like, would the Holocaust even have been possible if the Jewish people had guns. In any event, once a government disarms its citizens, the government may do anything it wants. Many Democrats have publicly stated, "We are coming for your guns". I will take them at their word.

Infanticide - Oh, my! How fast things are progressing! It seems that Roe v Wade was not enough for the baby killers on the Left. Now they want to ratchet up the game. Instead of making abortion "safe, legal and rare", now abortion and infanticide will become blurred in definition as well as practice. New York, and some other blue states, now have laws which will allow third trimester abortions. If that is not bad enough, what about post birth abortions? Stay tuned. The rumbles can already be heard on that issue (hello, Virginia). Just like the Nazis got rid of "undesirables", so will the socialist democrats. The similarities are beyond shocking - they are jaw dropping.

Hate Speech - A strange thing is happening to our First Amendment. It is becoming selective. How so? People on the Left are allowed (by our Constitution) to say just about anything, no matter how obnoxious, hateful or blasphemous. However, when someone from the Right wants to come on campus (the cesspool of liberalism) and give a speech - they are either shouted down or thrown off campus. The Nazis also did not allow ANY talk against the regime. That could be met with a bullet. As soon as the citizens are disarmed by the government, our First Amendment rights will fly out the window. Group think - here we come.

Antifa - Sturmabteilung, warmed over anyone? That was the pre-Nazi group of thugs who became know as Brown Shirts or Storm Troopers in the 1920's and 1930's. They were bad rice. Lawless and ruthless. Even though their trademark was a brown shirt, Antifa has the trademark of black and red clothing as well as wearing a mask. At least Storm Troopers did not have masks. Anyone who thinks Antifa does not resemble Brown Shirts, needs to go back to school, and study real history. These are scary times folks. More bloodshed is a real possibility with this group of thugs.   

There are more, but I will stop it here. The irony is many on the Left refer to the Right as Nazis. Excuse me please! The new Left, who wants to be called socialist democrats, have the same name as nationalist socialists (Nazis). Plus, like I just pointed out, their actions speak much louder than words. Much, much louder. 

No longer a blind eye

"This President does not believe in passing the hot potato to someone else. Or - if I may quote one of the Democrat icons from years past - "The buck stops here". Yes, the buck truly does stop at the President's desk - and he is very fine that it does."

"I have inherited a mess folks - a real mess. But don't worry. We are going to fix it." How many times have we all heard the President tell the crowds that story? I dare say many times for most of us. Yes, countless things were a mess when he took office. Was it because each President before him was a nincompoop or a boob? No. They all did however, have the ability to turn a blind eye to things which needed to be done or fixed. 

Want some examples? There are many. Let me first point out the most obvious and current - our southern border. For years now, many have bemoaned what a mess it is down there. The Border Patrol and ICE have been flummoxed many times by "catch and release" as well as our goofy immigration laws. The Secure Fence Act of 2006 was a joke. It did next to nothing.

How about amnesty? Every time a President has agreed to grant amnesty to a group of people in return for a permanent fix on the southern border, it has been a dud. The fix never happened and another group of people got to butt into line ahead of the legal immigrants. This President is not going to fall into the same traps nor accept lethargy as past Presidents have. This time, the wall will be built. Our southern border will be made more secure.

The headwinds for getting this simple $5.7B of wall funding is daunting. But he will not be denied. There are ways around Congress (if need be), that don't even entail calling a national emergency. Ms. Nancy may think she won the battle of the shutdown, but in reality she won nothing. There is still no budget signed by the President, and if she has any hope of getting legislation signed by POTUS during the next two years, she better learn to play nice. The President still has (dare I say it?) - the Trump card.

How about North Korea? Talk about turning a blind eye! This has been a mess since I was in grade school. President after President have been played by grandpa, father, and now the son. The net result was this dirt poor country is now a nuclear power. So President Trump decided to shake things up a bit. Meet the little dictator face to face. Show him a better way if he plays nice. Is the problem solved as yet. Not hardly. But at least we are talking a progress is being made. More talks are scheduled for this month. Stay tuned on this one folks.

The Lefties are wetting their pants right now as the President declared he is pulling out of the intermediate nuclear arms treaty with Russia. Gasp! Why? Because everyone knows Russia has been cheating on it since Reagan and Gorby inked the deal. What previous Presidents have done is turn a blind eye. Not President Trump. He will negotiate a new deal with no cheating. Plus - this time, include the Chinese.

Speaking of China, how about that trade war? Yes, for decades China has been eating our lunch in trade and IP cheating. Trump could not understand why nobody did anything about it. America was losing billions of dollars and thousands of jobs because of it. So he told China (as well as the EU, Mexico, Canada and whomever), there would be newer, fairer trade agreements coming soon. In absence of new trade agreements, there would be tariffs. Latest view - this strategy just might be working. No longer a blind eye.

"Eat the Rich!!"

Has anyone else noticed the shrill talk coming from many of the Leftist Presidential wannabes, as well as some of the newer nut balls we have put into Congress? What kind of shrill talk you might ask? Income inequality on steroids. The "evil rich". How we need to level the playing field, and fast. Even Howard Schultz, who is more of a traditional Democrat (can you believe it?), is almost getting laughed off the stage when he declares this new mantra as nutty.

But - Elizabeth Warren has already fired back as Schultz from Starbucks fame. "Billionaires are freeloaders" she proclaimed on the very neutral MSNBC. Now we have known for years, that many sucking off the system are known as "free riders", but rich people being "free loaders"? They are the ones who are paying almost 40% of ALL the taxes in America - whereas the "free riders" pay zero. But what do you expect from a woman who is only 1/1024th sane.

Years ago, the fringe Left had a saying about rich folk. "Eat the Rich!", whatever that meant. In any event, I am seeing a resurgence of that thinking (or lack thereof) in our country right now. AOC, the nut ball with a big mouth and google eyes, who is ALWAYS in the news these days, thinks we should tax the rich at 70%. Not to be outdone, our own nut ball from the 5th, thinks the rate should be as high as 90%.

Where do we go from here? First, BREAKING NEWS: Spartacus has just announced he is also running! One more nut ball in the jar! In any event, the Leftie cupboard is now well stocked with thieves. Thieves who want to rob from the rich and give to the special interests. 

At one time, Robin Hood would steal from the greedy rich and give to the poor. Today, the nut balls want to steal from the job creators and give to the free riders, lobbyists and special interests. Meanwhile, guess what is going to happen when we tax job creators anywhere from 70 to 90%? See ya - wouldn't want to be ya! They will leave (along with their money), the country.

Because Omar is not too bright, she does not understand that the only thing which is not turning this country into a "s*** hole", is our American system of government and economics. If she and others like her, want this country to be Third World (and that might be the plan), let's tax 100% of the people 100% of what they earn. Worked well for Karl Marx, so I am sure it will work just as well here.

Hang on tight to your wallets folks. Soon the talk of "wealth tax" will resurface. Once the commies on the Left get all of your income, they will be coming after your assets. Why? They are not yours. You must of stole them from the poor. Level the playing field.

I have said this dozens of times, so it must be said again. What we are seeing here is the fruits of our labor in our education system. Indoctrination instead of education. If these people had been educated the right way, they would see this fool's errand only leads into a box canyon. But their minds have been corrupted. And now some are in Congress. Lord help us all...
