Nixon's Impeachment

"By the way - notice I did not get into the Clinton affair (and I will use the term affair). He was guilty as sin. Not of a poor judgement call resulting in a cover up like Nixon did - Clinton was dirty six ways to Sunday."

I am one of those people who is old enough to remember the last Republican President to get impeached. Unlike this charade against Donald Trump, the impeachment against Dick Nixon took a long time, with a very involved process. Why? Because that is the way the Framers wanted it. Not this thing called "slam, bam, thank you ma'am" we have going right now. But I digress. First some history.

I was too young to vote for Nixon his first time out. During his first term, he was not a bad President at all. The media hated him, as did the Democrats. Because he looked dour most of the time, they painted him to be evil, or tricky (like "Tricky Dick" was his nickname with the press). When it was getting ready for his second term, all the Democrats could come up with was George McGovern. McGovern was a very bad candidate (kind of like what the Democrats have today). Nixon smoked him like a cheap cigar. For his second term, I was enough to vote, and Dick Nixon was the first President I voted for. I felt good doing it.

What got Nixon impeached was not doing anything wrong - at first. The break in at Watergate did not involve him. Nor was it necessary. He would have beat McGovern easily no matter what. But it did happen, and after that is when Dick Nixon went dirty. He tried to cover it up. The hard core evidence was there. That was enough to turn all the Democrats and some of the Republicans against him. He was impeached by the House, and then Nixon resigned before his Senate trial. He knew what the outcome would be.

I remember this entire series of events very clearly. Towards the end, the evidence of cover up was too much for many Republicans to bear - including me. I knew that for the good of the country, Nixon had to go. Nixon knew that also - that is why he resigned.

Now flash forward to today. This is like a comedy instead of an impeachment. Whereas with Nixon, impeachment became the last resort, with Trump, his impeachment was first discussed at his inauguration. In other words, with Nixon, impeachment became the remedy of last resort. With Donald Trump, impeachment has always been the remedy of first resort. Go figure.

Today, two articles of impeachment are being prepared. Soon, the ancient Speaker of the House will have a House vote on impeaching the 45th President of the United States. It will pass along strict party lines. In the Senate, other than three super RINO female Republican Senators, the trial will go nowhere. EVERYONE who is honest (including Democrats) know this to be a fact. Trump will be acquitted. Will this hurt Donald Trump? Not a bit. He will be re-elected and go on to do great things in his second term. Will it hurt the country? Terminally.

By the way - notice I did not get into the Clinton affair (and I will use the term affair). He was guilty as sin. Not of a poor judgement call resulting in a cover up like Nixon did - Clinton was dirty six ways to Sunday. But that is a story for another day. Donald Trump, compared to Clinton and the Nixon's cover up, is about as pure as the driven snow. And now, the Democrats are going to impeach an innocent man.

Merry Christmas, once again!

"This year more than ever, we should all feel free to tell others to have a Merry Christmas. And why not? What a season of joy!"

Merry Christmas! No more of that "Happy Holidays" BS. And to my Jewish friends, Happy Hanukkah! That pretty much covers the holidays which count this time of year. If that offends some, please try and deal with it. Christmas has been a national holiday since 1870. Even though Barack Obama tried to tell us we are no longer a Christian nation, we are. And saying Merry Christmas this time of year is more than just okay - it is wonderful!

Some celebrate a secular Christmas (or a "Santa Clause" Christmas), and others celebrate a faith based Christmas. For those in the faith, know the real reason for Christmas. It is the day of Emmanuel - God is with us. It was a day God came to Earth, to give hope to ALL mankind. For that reason alone, saying Merry Christmas to others is just fine.

Donald Trump is big (or should I say "Yuge"), on saying Merry Christmas. And he should be. Even though some politicians would like us to take God out of the equation of how our country is run, history tells another story. Most of the Founders were believers. They wanted to make sure our founding documents contained our Judeo-Christian beliefs.

This year more than ever, we should all feel free to tell others to have a Merry Christmas. And why not? What a season of joy! Every year, no matter how challenging the year has been, when December comes, and Christmas starts to show up in decorations, baking, presents, or whatever, wishing others a Merry Christmas, just feels right!

Living in a free country, we are free to wish anyone at anytime, the most joyous news of all. Jesus is born! God is with us! We are hopeless no more! If that is not good news, I don't know what is! And now we have a President who feels the same way! Merry Christmas all!

The silent tragedy in Africa

"Much of the carnage has taken place in Nigeria. People who live there, have very little except their faith. And their faith is strong. It needs to be."

Shh. Don't say anything. Don't tell anybody. Why? Nobody is supposed to know. Know what? The silent genocide of Christians in Africa. By (dare I say it?) - Muslims. It is that old "convert or die" thing, which was used in Syria and other parts of the Middle East. Muslims  burst into a church, drag out the worshipers (including the pastor), and if the Christians are "lucky" will be given THE choice. If they choose to stay with their Christian faith, they are executed. Men, women, children, all. And who cares about them? Not many, I am afraid.

Much of the carnage has taken place in Nigeria. People who live there, have very little except their faith. And their faith is strong. It needs to be. The blind hatred that Muslims have towards Christians goes back many generations. The trending movement of "Coexist" that infects America, is nowhere to be found in Africa. "Convert or die" is the mantra. And they mean it.

Who defends these Christians against the well armed militia of Boko Haram, and other factions like it? The feckless UN? Guess again. They are spending all their time of climate change, and social justice. Meanwhile, innocents are being slaughtered for just practicing their faith. And many of the young ones who are not killed are sold into slavery. Slaves to be used for sex and labor.

I get so angry when I read about these injustices over in Africa, I wish we could carpet bomb all the areas where these renegade Muslims operate in. I understand how the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide were hidden by the horrors of two World Wars. But this genocide is right out in the open - for all to see. How about the Pope? Can he intercede for these poor Christians? I did not think so. These poor people are on their own, to convert or die.

I fear that this carnage will continue in Africa until the Christians are all but eliminated. After Africa, then what? Could the contagion spread to Europe? To America? Some say it already has. Think of Pensacola. 9/11. Pay attention to what is going on in Africa folks. It might be knocking at our door sooner rather than later.

We will never forget! (or did we?)

"Wake up people! Remember Pearl Harbor! Remember 9/11! Remember yesterday, what happened in Pensacola! Remember, before it is too late!"

Today is Pearl Harbor day. The day which will live in infamy. It was a day we got caught with our collective pants down (so to speak), by an opportunistic enemy who wanted us out of the picture. This irony of Pearl Harbor? It almost worked. Sure it was a body blow, and it cost the Navy a good portion of the fleet as well as over 2,000 brave sailors killed. But what happened 78 years ago, should have been a lesson for the ages. Never, ever, ever - get caught like that again. That memory worked for a while. That is, until September 11, 2001.

Many people have compared 9/11 to Pearl Harbor. We became lax, and trusting. We did not see the cancer which was starting to eat away at our defenses. The PC and "Woke" culture started to erode every lesson we learned after Pearl Harbor. The "Remember Pearl Harbor" bumper stickers were ripped off, and replaced with "Coexist" bumper stickers. We were ripe for attack - it was just a matter or time. Then for only a handful of dollars, and using twenty Saudi Muslim zealots, 9/11 happened. It was so heinous, so awful, we took an oath to never, ever forget. And yet, we are forgetting again.

This is going to hurt, but I need to say it anyway. They are not our friends. Never have been, never will be. Don't think so? Yesterday, some Saudi (yes, the Saudis again) flight officer going through training in Pensacola, decided it was time to once again teach the infidels a lesson. Have no doubt - this was a Muslim on non-Muslim attack (once again). How did it happen? Even though the Saudi influence on the 9/11 attack has never been reconciled, we now let Saudis onto our most precious military bases. Like - are we flipping crazy?

This is for people who subscribe to the new "Woke" culture. It is time you woke up. The enemy is not only at our gates, the enemy is inside our gates and now in our government. Why? Oh, it is so PC to have such diversity of people representing us. The problem is, some of that diversity is a cancer. They are out to destroy us. Don't think so? Look at what is happening in Europe right now. They are being overrun, and they have a HUGE problem on their hands. Parts of Michigan and Cedar Riverside are right behind them.

Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were two huge wake up calls for the citizens and patriots. For the socialists and progressives, they were only accidents of history. We don't need "Woke" - instead we need to get woken up. If we don't, this is how great civilizations fall folks. Because people fall asleep at the wheel. Or become naive like Neville Chamberlain.

Let me close, with this refresher course. The Axis Powers were not our friends. The Soviet Empire(s) were not our friends, and the Islamists are not our friends. What is happening in Africa right now, is Christians are being exterminated by the Islamists. By the thousands. No "coexisting" there. Left unchecked, the extermination of non-Muslims will continue to spread like a contagion.

Wake up people! Remember Pearl Harbor! Remember 9/11! Remember yesterday, what happened in Pensacola! Remember, before it is too late!

Round Mound of Sound - Round One

"One more thing - the IG Report is being released on Monday. Instead of the Kabuki Theater Nader is hosting, the IG Report could have some real meat on it. Stay tuned folks - the rest of December could get very interesting..."

Yesterday was a cringe worthy day. Or it should have been. The Round Mound of Sound (Jerry Nadler) was the MC as the latest circus show in Washington. Only for round one of these hearings, Nadler decided to have three of the most biased, rude, arrogant "law professors" he could find. Not only were they not neutral (like, not even an inch), they were more biased than the Democrats on the panel. Especially, that "lady" professor they had invited. If I had a son or daughter going to a law school where she taught, I would pull them out in a heartbeat.

These three very liberal law professors acted like spoiled brats during most of the hearings. If I had been the Round Mound of Sound, I would have been embarrassed. But he was not. Not even after someone played a video of him during the Clinton impeachment hearings. Seems the Round Mound of Sound not only had an extra 100 pounds on him at that time, he also had a much different opinion of impeachment. But then again, that was the impeachment of a Democrat. That is different.

The Republicans only had one guest on the panel. They did not need three caterwaulers like the Democrats had. They had Professor Turley from George Washington University Law School. He was cool, calm, collected and measured. By the way - he is not a Republican. Nor a supporter of the President. But unlike the other three, he kept his bias in check. Just stuck to the facts.

Anyhow, Turley warned the panel that this impeachment was ill advised. It is going too fast, with too few facts. Then came the bombshell. He told the panel if they are going to impeachment this President just because they don't like him, it will change the impeachment process going forward. Instead of being a rare remedy as the Founders envisioned, it would become common. Like way too common. The Democrats shrugged that off. They are going full speed ahead, damn the torpedoes. If it ruins things down the road, let the kids and grand-kids deal with it.

In any event, these hearings are actually worse that the Schiff Show. Hard to believe, I know. What is next? I don't know. There does not seem to be any fact witnesses. Maybe more law experts? Maybe some DNC operatives? Clowns from the local circus? Since the Democrats are going to do this anyhow, just skip the rest of the hearings and take the vote to impeach. Once the Christmas break is over, the Senate trial will begin. That should take a week at the longest, with many faces having egg on them once it is over. The President will be acquitted, and then on to November for the landslide election.

One more thing - the IG Report is being released on Monday. Instead of the Kabuki Theater Nader is hosting, the IG Report could have some real meat on it. Stay tuned folks - the rest of December could get very interesting...

Not one damn penny!

"As far as the citizens are concerned - we are done. We could have had Jeff Johnson who would have gone into the gears of government and fixed this mess. But no - the socialists wanted a socialist."

Every now and again, something really gets under the Bird's skin. This DHS thing is something which is so fantastic, it is almost beyond belief. It is one thing for this very expensive organization to be ripping of the citizens for years, but the frosting on the cake is the beyond caviler attitude, our Governor has shown about this entire mess.

Here is the part which is the most disturbing. Taxing Timmy Walz thinks our state is under taxed and we need to collect more taxes. No mention on how we are going to reign in DHS and re-capture millions of wasted dollars there. In the minds of Walz and the socialists, to do so, would be sacrosanct.

And here is the ultimate of brazenness concerning the issue. Not only has DHS ripped off this state for years, and given money to grifters, terrorists, and bums - the counties are now getting a bill for the all the money which has been squandered. Meanwhile, the "cop on the street", Carolyn Ham, gets off with not even a slap on the wrist.

If this issue does not piss you off to the max, you might need another cup of coffee to wake up. This is government theft at its worse. Ladies and gentlemen, DHS receives a tad over 30% of our state budget. It is the second biggest department in our state. It is bad enough that education which gets over 40%, continues to put out a substandard product, but DHS wastes money like crazy. Think about that - between education and DHS, almost 3 out of 4 dollars this state spends is spent unwisely - or just plain wasted.

Next year when our deep pocketed Governor comes a calling for more money, here is the answer. First off, concerning your request for even a penny more taxes - "HELL NO!" Then, we want a rebate for OUR money which has been wasted for years. We don't care which of the bloated agencies need to be cut - WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK! It is crap like this which led to the Boston Tea Party in the beginning. When taxpayers feel used, they rebel.

Not one damn penny Walz. If some of your socialist followers feel differently, they can pay for your folly. As far as the citizens are concerned - we are done. We could have had Jeff Johnson who would have gone into the gears of government and fixed this mess. But no - the socialists wanted a socialist. Now we have Walz, and we have a first class mess.

Wither the United States Space Command?

"So much change will take place in the next ten years, we will not recognize our world - or what is beyond our world. We need to jump on this Space Command and get it up and running. Why? Change waits for nobody. And big changes will start next month."

It has been almost two years now, since this subject was first broached by the President. Many thought it was nutty. But was it? We kind of have a space agency now, as it is part of our Air Force. But starting next month, "outer space", will take on a whole new meaning. In other words, after a fifty year slumber and just playing around in low Earth orbit, mankind is ready to spring into action. Or - as Buzz Lightyear would say - we are ready to go "To infinity and beyond!"

Two things are going to happen in the 2020 decade which make a strong argument for having a Space Command. First, the number of critical satellites will grow - a lot. More and more, our lives will depend on the accuracy and dependability of our satellites. Second, as I have penned about before, mankind is poised and ready to vacate low Earth orbit and head back to the Moon, to Mars, to the Asteroid Belt, and maybe further. What is ahead of us is a blank slate. We have no clue to the challenges or dangers out there. Having a Space Force or Space Command, just makes good sense.

By the way, our good friends, the Russians and the Chinese, already have something similar to Space Commands. Plus, with the advent of hypersonic missiles, the threat of a foreign power taking out some of our critical satellites just got much more real. Plus, let's face it - going into space is like going into a dark room and lighting a match. You won't know what is in that room until the match is lit. Having someone like a Space Command as we go into those dark rooms, someone to protect our space voyagers, makes as much sense as having the Navy protect our shipping.

Where will the money come from to start this new Space Command? Anyone who has worked with, or been in the Armed Forces, know that fraud, waste and abuse is rampant. Has been for years. I would give the other members of our Armed Forces a minor "haircut" and use that money to fund the Space Command. Don't think there is that kind of money out there? Let's start with closing down some of our bases in Europe. Unless my math escapes me, World War II has been over for 75 years. Time to move on.

In any event - time to get moving. Many futurists have been talking about this next decade. Glenn Beck talks about it on his show quite a bit. What these prognosticators all have in common, is what they say about the 2020's. So much change will take place in the next ten years, we will not recognize our world by 2030 - or what is beyond our world. We need to jump on this Space Command and get it up and running. Why? Change waits for nobody. And big changes will start next month.
