Making it to 2020

"With the Democrat candidates trying hard to breath in an atmosphere where the Kabuki Theater has taken all the oxygen out of the room, their frustration must be off the charts."

Until recently, being in October, and planning out the upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's), was a piece of cake. In fact, it was kind of fun. This year, I think I can safely do it again with one exception - New Year's. With the brawling going on in Washington reaching new levels every week, I am wondering if we can make it to New Year's Eve as an intact country. If you think this sounds like hyperbole, it is not.

First, an editorial comment. Last week, a friend accused the Bird of using opinion instead of fact. To that, I respond - guilty. Why? For the most part, the Bird is an opinion writer. Sure, there are facts intermixed with the opinion - but I am an opinion writer. Enough said.

On to my rant and concern. This week, we are starting out with the rumor there are now "numerous" whistle-blowers. The President is sending a letter to Ms. Nancy to "put up or shut up". In other words, President Trump wants the impeachment vote taken this week. Then the correct impeachment "process" can take over. Hint: no process has been followed to date. This has just been a bunch of Kabuki Theater

Meanwhile, the Clown Car has run out of gas. With the Democrat candidates trying hard to breath in an atmosphere where this Kabuki Theater has taken all the oxygen out of the room, their frustration must be off the charts. With Uncle Joe now being caught up in the quicksand of the Ukraine mess, the remaining clowns are searching for a message which will catch fire in this most unusual environment. Hint: Turing the country socialist, even a wee bit, is not the right answer.

With all fingers in Washington pointing at someone else, and nobody taking responsibility for anything, can we make it for another three months? Will anything get done - anywhere? Some major damage has already been done. Our once secure White House communication line, of country leader talking to our President, has now been shown to be as porous as Swiss cheese. Instead of total confidentiality, it is like communicating on social media. I really don't know if this damage can ever be fixed. Ever.

At the end of the day, no minds will be changed. Those who have hated the President since the get-go, hate him even more for this perceived or real "gaming" of the system. For those who have supported the President since the get-go, know this is yet another example of the Deep State, and its many tentacles.

Opinion? Fact? Who knows at this point. I don't know of one mortal person right now who can go into Washington and fix the expanding fissures. And maybe that is the issue. This is something which can only be fixed by mortal men getting on their knees, humbling themselves, and asking God for guidance. However, with the Democrats kicking God out of their platform, that might be a problem. Other than that, I have no clue on how to get out of this box canyon.

  1. Problem seems to be that our elected officials think they ARE God, and that we should be worshiping them for their brilliance and magnanimity. Liberalism is a strange mental illness, which delights those who have it while everybody else suffers from it.
