Peace and justice

"We have no peace and no justice. It is hard to go after bad guys when our president thinks our biggest threat is 'climate anything'. And the worst people in the world are 'white supremacists', whatever they are."

I live in a mythical state where odd things happen. Recently, we had a rash of horrible murders. About 30 of them to be exact. These were not the normal kind of murders - they were right out of a slaughterhouse. To top things off, the murder(s) also took about 14 other citizens hostage and is holding them in some undisclosed location. One would think the chief crime fighter in this state would be hopping mad. Have the largest posse in history put together to find these baddies. Did I mention we also know who did it? What has been done to avenge the fallen and find the missing? Nada. Zip.

Back to reality. I know I have addressed this before. If I were the parent of one of the 30 dead Americans or one of the 14 missing in the Middle East, I would be beside myself. We should have troops standing right next to the Israeli troops, ready to go into Gaza and find the guilty parties. All our president can do right now is whisper into the mic - "don't".

And yet, we have a former president whom we are going after hammer and tong. We would like to put him into prison for 100 years, for the crime of jaywalking. We go after the parents of students at school board meetings for the crime of complaining. We go after pro-life people for the crime of protecting the innocent. The president knows how to go after people. If they are white and Republicans, there is no limit to how far and how hard this president (and his AG) will go after someone. But 30 dead Americans, killed by the butchers of Gaza? No way, Jose!

Israel also lost many people to the butchers of Gaza. They on the other hand, will not let this stand. They have amassed an Army of over 300,000 soldiers to avenge their fallen. To find their missing. They are primed, loaded, and ready to go. How about our president? He wants to give the citizens of Gaza and the West Bank $100M - even though the last tranche we gave them, $1B ended up with Hamas. This is how we avenge the fallen? How we placate the protestors?

We have no peace and no justice. It is hard to go after bad guys when our president thinks our biggest threat is "climate anything". And the worst people in the world are "white supremacists", whatever they are. But the butchers of Gaza? Nothing. Even after our president warned them three times to behave - "Don't, don't and don't".
