Does anyone else think we are now living in a world spinning out of control? To me, it all started with Russia surrounding Ukraine. Whereas many (including myself) thought it was a poorly placed bluff by Putin, it turned out to be anything but that. Then all of a sudden, the largest war Europe has seen for decades - happened. Two countries, one nuclear, pounding the tar out of each other. Many people's "spider senses" started to tingle. I know that mine did.
As bad and bloody as the war in Ukraine has been, that was only the preview of what was to come. Not even a month ago, we had the great massacre in Israel. Inhumanity towards fellow humans which had not been seen live and in color, such as this one was. The animals of Hamas knew exactly what was to happen after the slaughter of 1,400 people and the kidnapping of over 200 more. They knew the IDF would come steaming into Gaza to rescue hostages and exact revenge. And so, it is happening.
As a side note and a bit of irony. In our church the past few weeks, we have been studying the Book or Esther from the Old Testament. One of the characters in the story is a wicked man named Haman, who hated the Jews. The story takes place in Persia (now Iran), and it did not escape notice that Haman's name is quite similar to today's terror group Hamas. Haman and Hamas.
The United States has moved extreme force into the theater around Iran and Israel. The provocations continue to come from Hezbollah and Iran. Not major incursions, but just enough. Even though the US has some professional demonstrators who are protesting against Israel, it might be time to really show Israel the United States has Israel's back. How so? As Israel continues to take out Hamas, we could teach Iran a lesson they would not forget. Everyone knows that Iran has their fingerprints on everything nasty which has happened in the Middle East. From the carnage in our Marine barracks forty years ago, to the massacre in Israel just last month - it was Iran behind the curtain. Time to put this theocracy to an end. Time for a purge.

Years ago, the young folks in Iran really wanted to be free from tyranny. Maybe we could help them. But we need to get rid of the boots on their necks first. And we can do that. We are still the bright city on the hill that liberty loving people look towards. Just imagine a world without Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS and Iran's theocracy. Imagine a world where people just want to live in peace.
But then again, what is happening right now, might all be fixed and unchangeable. It might be the Bible coming to life. The end times. I don't know if it is or not. But as a believer, I do know this much. God is still in control, and on His Throne. We just to make sure we are on the right side of history.
