Sign vandals

"Here is the odd thing, which many on the other side don't realize. When they vandalize a sign, and their signs remain untouched, it only reflects on them."

I have often said, it takes a special kind of child to vandalize or steal a campaign sign for someone you disagree with. What kind of child? One who never grew up. A JD. A loser. Over the years, I have seen plenty of signs which I disagree with. Some a little, some a lot. For example, when Obama was running for re-election, and I knew the damage he was doing to the country, I never touched one of his signs. Most on my side of the street feel the same way. The other side however - are thugs, punks, vandals, and worse.

Defacing a sign put up by Republicans or conservatives in on the same level as shouting down a conservative speaker on a college campus. Once again, you never see conservatives do that to a socialist or progressive speaker. If a conservative does not agree with the bilge a socialist is spewing, that conservative would simply not attend the event. A socialist punk on the other hand, would feel compelled to violate many peoples First Amendment rights by shouting a person down. Amazing.

This election on November 3rd will come and go. However, the hard feelings which are surrounding us will remain for a long, long time. The name calling, the vitriol, the vandalism, the rioting, the doxxing, the gaslighting, the hate - will last maybe forever. This acrimony has been a scourge upon us all.

A good way to begin to turn things around, is to protect each other's First Amendment rights. Like freedom of speech. That would include public speaking as well as having a political sign in a yard or by the side of the road. If you disagree with someone's sign, put one of your own choosing in your yard. Or by the road. Or don't. That is the point. In our free country, you are free to agree or disagree. But as the old adage goes, you may swing you fist as wide and as fast as you choose. That is your right. That is your right until your fist touches the tip of someone's nose. That is where your rights cease, and the other person's rights begin.

Here is the odd thing, which many on the other side don't realize. When they vandalize a sign, and their signs remain untouched, it only reflects on them. It is like hate begin a backward emotion. Hate affects the hater much more that the hated. Whenever a punk vandal defaces or steals a sign, they open their kimono. They show the world just how shallow and without merit they are. In other words - losers. Vapid, insipid, sophomoric, spoiled children. Spoiled children which never grew up. Worst of all, they are un-American. They don't deserve to live in this great country.
