"Well, done blue team, well done. If you think you have done this state proud, you have not. When that bill is signed into law, it will be day of profound sadness. It will be a day of prayer by those who did not support this bill. Prayers for what? Forgiveness."

INYMI - one of the most onerous abortion bills in the nation, passed the Minnesota House yesterday. Every DFL member voted for it (of course), and every Republican member voted against it. Once again, a vote such as this, left many scratching their collective heads.
What is it about Democrats and abortion? It has almost become the holy grail for them. To the left, the killing of our unborn is to be celebrated, not scorned. For a large portion of the Republican Party, abortion after a certain point in a pregnancy is abhorrent. For some on the right, abortion at any time in a pregnancy, is even more abhorrent.
First off, abortion should never be a legal matter. Not a government matter. It is a moral matter. It is a horrific procedure which is practiced in many countries worldwide. How horrific? In the movie Unplanned (a true story), an actual abortion was filmed. It showed a fetus fighting for its life, until it was killed. It was so graphic, the Motion Picture Association gave it an "R" rating. For a Christian film.
These stats are well known by the pro-life people. Since Roe v. Wade, over 63,000,000 innocent Americans have been killed in their mother's womb. That is more people than live in any state in our union. And worldwide, the number is even more staggering. The WHO estimates worldwide, there are 40 to 50 million abortions every year.
Some of my friends on the left accuse me of focusing too much on the unborn, and not enough on those who are born, and then need financial help. Even though it is a shallow argument, I will bite. Many on the right DO care about the wellbeing of all Americans. No matter the color, race or creed, we want Americans to first be born, and then once born, have the freedom to become whatever he or she wants to be. If it means giving a hand up, so be it. If it means giving a hand out from cradle to grave, not so much. As Ronald Reagan said, "A rising tide lifts all boats".
My wish, no my prayer, is for every legislator in St. Paul who supports this bill, to first talk to his or her pastor, priest, or rabbi. Ask if abortion is moral. If it is sinful. If in the eyes of God, it is good, or it is evil. I know I have talked to the pastors at my last two churches about abortion. Their view was crystal clear. Absolute evil.
The bill will now go to the Minnesota Senate, where the voting will probably be the same. Every Democrat, "Aye", every Republican, "Nay". Then on to Taxing Timmy, for his rubber stamp signature. And then it will be done. We will have abortion rights on the books, which are similar to North Korea or China.
Well, done blue team, well done. If you think you have done this state proud, you have not. When that bill is signed into law, it will be day of profound sadness for many. It will be a day of prayer by those who did not support this bill. Prayers for what? Forgiveness.
How about prayers for deliberate and downright evil ignorance? At the point of fetal viability (the Roe v. Wade standard), when the baby can live outside the womb, there are TWO human beings involved in this "choice" and abortion becomes murder. We have laws against murder, or did until now. Shame.
