Our "climate emergency"

"Because of our 'climate emergency', everything is a mess. Going to the state fair yesterday, I was amazed at how expensive things had become. Less for more. Funny - it seems like the 'less for more' is becoming more and more common these days. It will get worse. Much worse. Keep your fingers crossed we can make it until November 2024."

Some might not believe I am going to say this. I agree we are in a "climate emergency". And it is man-made. Oh, this has nothing to do with the weather. I am talking about the short-sighted, idiotic things we are doing to make the "greenies" feel better. The "man-made" portion comes straight out of Washington or St. Paul.

I know, I know. Many might think I am callous for saying this right after we had the horrific fire in Maui, and now the historic Hurricane Idalia which is making landfall just north of Tampa. But wait - is it not unusual for the Gulf to have hurricanes this time of year? Ah - no, it is not. Over 50 years ago, I was in Hurricane Camile, and that too, was a doozie. And the fire in Maui? There is much, much more to this story which we don't know as yet.

When you put the village idiot in charge of the village, here is what you get. A mandate for EV cars, with no strategy on how to charge them. Right now, we are headed into a box canyon, filled with cars which cannot run long enough on a charge, and not enough energy to power the EV charging stations when the cars get there. What does all this mean? Putting statist bureaucrats in charge of complicated projects such as this, is like telling a 3-year-old to solve a Rubic's Cube. Don't believe it? Check out the Southwest LRT in MN. That has been a cluster of the highest order.

People who have the most rudimentary understanding of economics know why stuff is costing more these days. Energy. Once Biden and his fellow alarmists pulled the plug on some of our most reliable energy, our remaining energy cost more. Because Biden is Biden, he does not understand that when energy costs more, everything costs more. High energy costs lead to inflation. Inflation leads to the Fed raising the interest rates. Raising the interest rates leads to 7.25% home loans. And the beat (or beat down) goes on.

Because of our "climate emergency", everything is a mess. Going to the state fair yesterday, I was amazed at how expensive things had become. Less for more. Funny - it seems like the "less for more" is becoming more and more common these days. It will get worse. Much worse. Keep your fingers crossed we can make it until November 2024.

  1. The scientific evidence is overwhelming, that there is NO Climate Emergency or Crisis or even possibility AND, if there were, there is no evidence that any of the really stupid things being done to "prevent" it will do any good whatsoever. Take Walz and the DFL's "net zero by 2040" mandate. The models (which run hot, remember) predict this whole impossible thing will reduce global temperatures by about 9 /millionths/ of a degree! Meanwhile, electricity costs will double, people will be stuck in their homes and freezing to death, unable to go out for or even afford food. Stupidity knows no bounds.
