Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels!

"We need to get rid of this organization as is exists, and we need to do it yesterday. Our tax code needs to be burned."

A few weeks ago, my eldest got a letter from the IRS. It said she owed a boatload of additional money from a "mistake" on her taxes in 2015. She immediately called me up as I (along with Turbo Tax) do her taxes every year. And every year, both the computer program as well as I, always live on the side of caution. Thus, when the meter pops up at the end of the program showing the risk of audit, it is always in the green (very low).

I looked back in her records and I could not see any error. Fortunately, she has a friend who is a tax attorney and referred the issue to him. Surprise! There was no error on our part. It was the IRS estimating part of her taxes the wrong way. Why? Because CONGRESS (yes, I am laying this at their doorstep), has made our tax code so ding dang complicated, few (without a computer program) can figure taxes out.

Why do I bring this up on a June weekend? First off, we have some unfinished business afloat from the last Administration. What is that? Punishment for Lois Lerner and the employment termination of IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. But more on that in a minute.

First, an open plea to President Trump. I know you want to have a meaningful tax cut sir. I am okay with that. But what I think is even more important is either a gut wrenching reform of the IRS, or its elimination all together. In fact, if we really wanted to be brave, we could adopt the Fair Tax. Under the Fair Tax there would be no need for the IRS. Why? No income tax. Period. All revenue would be collected from sales. If not a Fair Tax, please consider a Flat Tax. However, we would still need a miniature IRS if we had a Flat Tax.

Back to the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels in the IRS. What Lois Lerner did to conservative groups (like the Tea Party) prior to the 2012 elections is simply unforgivable. Turning the IRS (once again) into a weapon against those who disagreed with her beloved Administration. And then, when questioned by Congress, to have the gall to plead the 5th.

Finally to put frosting on the cake, to have her boss, John Koskinen, come up with some cock and bull story about all the proof of what she did (in her emails) mysteriously disappear. On a hard disk crash. And then when it was discovered that her emails were backed up on tape, to find out those tapes had been mysteriously erased. This was so bad, it makes Hillary's missing emails almost look normal.

Are there some people in this country who are tax cheats? Absolutely. And they should be held accountable. But there are many, many innocent people that the IRS torments. We need to get rid of this organization as is exists, and we need to do it yesterday. Our tax code needs to be burned. When I say I want to see tax reform, I don't mean to tinker around the edges reform. I mean knock your socks off, jaw dropping reform.

Meanwhile, after many in this country have been screwed royal by Lois Lerner, she is now living high off the hog on a fat government pension, compliments of us. President Trump - let's fix this sir - and now. If Congress can't help, use your executive authority to the fullest extent of the law.
