Where have all the cops gone?

Last week, there was an article about our missing bluebirds. Anyone in the Midwest who has bluebird houses, has noticed it this year. No birds. The reason? The unusually harsh winter down in Texas, where many bluebirds winter. Many have starved or froze to death. Thus - very few birds this year.

However - there is one thing which is disappearing faster than bluebirds. Our law enforcement officers. How bad is it? Let's look at New York City. In 2020, 5,300 cops left the force. Even with a police force as large as the NYPD, 5,300 officers departing, leaves a big dent. Here is the scary part. Thanks in good part to New York City's clueless and socialist Mayor, the number of officers leaving the NYPD is expected to be even higher in 2021. Seen New York City lately? The residents are being advised to stay out of Time Square after dark. And Central Park? Almost a slam dunk chance you will get mugged. Welcome to our post George Floyd world of "no cops needed". 

Portland Oregon is just as bad. Cops leaving in droves, and crime is now king. Your chances of being a victim of a violent crime in Portland is slightly less than 1 in 200. Your chances of being a victim of a property crime is slightly less than 1 in 20. Who in the world would want to live there? The once very livable city of Portland is now a lawless mess. With a clueless boob like Ted Wheeler as Mayor, he is as bad (if not worse), than de Blasio is in New York City. 

Okay - those are costal cities. Things are always worse out there. But Minneapolis should be just fine - right? WRONG! We also have a clueless mayor, and our police force has been shredded. Here is the kicker. According to a New York Daily News article in 2019 (Pre Floyd), the crime in Minneapolis was spiking due to not enough cops. That was nothing compared to today. Now, many will not venture into Minneapolis for any reason. Why? Nobody wants to get mugged or carjacked by Democrats. And cops? In 2021, they are as common as bluebirds this year. 

Where will this end? How will this end? Will it be the end? THIS WILL CONTINUE, WITH NO END IN SIGHT!
