Big, big trouble

If this is not the hottest mess ever, I don't know what is. Almost every day there is another disclosure about Hillary which shows her unfit to lead our great country. For most Republican candidates, this election should be a shoe in. An easy walk to the finish line. However, almost every day it seems that something else is revealed about Donald Trump's character. Things from his past. And this latest one seems to be a doozy.

Many Republicans were reluctant joiners to the Trump express. Some still had battle wounds from the bruising series of primary and debate battles. However, many finally did hop on with some giving very tepid endorsements. Now they are bailing off this ship as fast as their legs can carry them.

Okay - I will say it. Sometimes the revelations about these two candidates make Frank Underwood look good. And that is NOT good! So the question begs to be asked, where to now? What is going to happen? Will Donald Trump stay in? Will Hillary ever face justice? Will she get elected with much of her sordid background left to uncover? 

This could be the hottest mess ever. Should Donald Trump drop out of the race with less than a month to go, what would the Republicans do? Early voting has already started with many of the ballots going for Trump. In addition, Trump's name is already on ballots in sixteen states. And finally there comes this very minor issue - who would replace him, and what would the process be to do so? 

Hillary has already leaked to the press she is going after the kill shot tonight in the debate. She will bring up this latest revelation about Trump. She is hoping against hope it will force Trump to respond with a nuclear strike - that would be talking about Bill Clinton. Most all pundits agree that would be a disaster for Trump. No matter which way you slice it, tonight is going to be a big, big hill for Trump to climb.

I  have said this many times before. Republicans hold their candidate to a different standard than Democrats do. We saw that with Bill Clinton. He was exposed as a serial abuser with a very high and uncontrollable sex drive. There were no calls from the Democrats for Bill to resign. Not one. But our side expects better. Much, much better.

How is this going to play out in the next month? Heaven only knows. Rumor has it the MSM still has other tidbits about Trump to leak. It makes me want to stick my head in the sand for the next month. As least tonight I can watch football instead of the debate. And for the third debate? It is on at the same time as Monday Night Football. Thank the Lord for small favors!
