Off the table!!

Please, please tell me this was a misprint in the paper. And it had to be misreporting on the TV and radio. This really can't be true. Our side would not be that gullible. That easy to fall into this trap. Nope - that is not our mantra. It is the Democrat mantra to keep raising taxes and fees. But for our side to offer to raise our license tabs $100,000,000 is beyond nuts. It is lunacy.

This is not the way to negotiate. Not the way I learned. Our "pet rock" should be that we are taxed enough. Not only taxed enough, but over taxed. So much so that we have a surplus. Not a surplus to be spent - a surplus to be returned to the taxpayers. So rather than protecting our "pet rock", every session we seem to get cowed into increasing the size of government - and the size of our tax burden.

Well enough is enough! Get that crap off the table! For crying out loud, most of us don't give a tinker's damn if NOTHING gets done this session! That is, nothing except fixing our unfair taxing of senior citizens, retired military veterans, folks with modest estates, and businesses. Other than that, I see no sense of urgency in passing anything. And BTW, we passed a "fix it forever" transportation funding law in 2006. Done. Over. A few Republicans lost their jobs because they voted for it. But it is over. It is history. And the money is there.

So Mr. Speaker, this is what you need to do. The Democrats have already rejected your offer. GOOD!! Now pull it off the table! Take it off the table and tell the other side the ONLY subject worth discussing right now is the tax irregularities in this state which are screwing tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of seniors. And (this is a big one), seniors on both sides of the aisle are affected by this tax issue. 

Good flipping grief! This should not be this hard. WE HAVE THE FACTS ON OUR SIDE!! THEY ARE A WINNING ISSUES!! Now let's use them. No more taxes. No more fees. No more big government. We need to take this state back. If it is too late, please let us know. Many of us are on the cusp of leaving Minnesota and going elsewhere. If you are going to cave instead of fight, please give us the courtesy of letting us know. We deserve that much.
