The Russian Fiasco

"Yes, the Russians have played us like fools, and continue to do so. We are fitting into their game like a hand into a glove. Khrushchev's warning might be coming true - decades after he declared it. Russia is going to see us 'buried'. They will not bury us - we will do it to ourselves."

I really wonder if Donald Trump thinks this was all worth it. He went from being the patriarch of a multi-billion dollar company to this mess in Washington. And this Russia thing. It is hard to drain the swamp when Russia is the topic de jour these days. This truly is the plague which will not go away. Now this issue has not only sullied the President, the media is making sure that mud splashes on his son, son-in-law, and some of his closest advisers.

And the Democrats! Are they ever licking their chops right now! Even the caricature named Tim Kaine thinks that Donald Trump Jr. might have committed (get ready for this one) treason. Now Kaine's son has a rap sheet, and is a law breaker in Minnesota. So Kaine should shut his pie hole. And by the way, what, if anything, is Donald Trump Jr. guilty of? Naivete, in the first degree?

I got up early today (first light) so I could go outside and survey the yard for storm damage. Having seen none, I came back inside and turned on the TV. For fifteen minutes, I switched between Fox, MSNBC, and CNN. It was like watching the news from two different planets. Fox was featuring a story on Charlie Gard. MSNBC and CNN on the other hand, for the 104th day in a row, talked about all Russia, all the time.

To be fair, Fox did have a national pollster on also. A question was first asked, "What do you want the government to be focusing on right now?" 55% said jobs and the economy. Then the question was asked, "What is the last thing the government should be focusing on right now?" Again 55% said the Russian issue.

Is anyone on the Trump team in jeopardy due to this last revelation about the lady who said she had "dirt" on Hillary? Technically, since Jared and Junior were both in that meeting with a foreign national, and if they did not disclose that on their TS clearance application, they could have their clearances pulled. But that might be a long shot.

Some might be wondering who is going to win this colossal tug of war. Will it be the Trump family, known for their ability to fight to win? Or will it be Team Democrat, made up of every Democrat in the universe as well as their pet media lap dogs? My guess? Neither. We are all going to lose. The winner(s) will be an anemic economy, and a broken health care system since none of Trump's fixes will get passed. And of course - the Kremlin.

Yes, the Russians have played us like fools, and continue to do so. We are fitting into their game like a hand into a glove. Khrushchev's warning might be coming true - decades after he declared it. Russia is going to see us "buried". They will not bury us - we will do it to ourselves.

  3. Little touchy today, are we!
Don't worry, all will be fine.
I think if they would pull Jr's security clearance all would be forgiven regarding Russia. DJT doesn't even know how to spell Ukraine, unless he's trolling for next wife there.
FBI Director looks like a lock when Franken and Feinstein like him. Healthcare will get a vote next week and since their leaving all the personal and capital gains taxes in, should be enough money to satisfy Medicare heavy cut states and subsidize premiums for older and poor folk (I know that bothers you, but what the hey) and they are keeping Ted Cruz out of the building, it may pass.
Then comes the butt ugly reconciliation process (Trump doesn't know about that yet).
Tax reform should be a no-brainer or as DJT says "very, very soon and will be REALLY good". Clueless.
Then onto the budget and debt limit increase. FUN items for conservatives. DJT willing to shut the government down? I think it already is. No funding would just make it official.
Keep the blogs coming, it just keeps getting better and better.
Or should I say darker and darker.

  4. The introduction of Articles of Impeachment by Rep. Sherman and Green today won't go anyplace as they only have 150 House votes and probably 47 Senators willing to vote. Dead on arrival. Need a few more issues to crop up before it will get serious. Lucky us.

  5. Attorney General Jeff Sessions gave an off-camera speech behind closed doors on Tuesday. As announced on his public schedule, Sessions addressed a crowd at the Alliance Defending Freedom’s Summit on Religious Liberty in Orange County, California.
Official comment will be "He was doing opposition research".
in reality the racist bastard was speaking to his hate-mongering base.
What would Jesus Do? with this wolf in sheeps clothing?
