New spending

"I know there is a deep philosophical divide between the conservatives and progressives. That being said, the other side cannot be that stupid."

New spending. Two words which have become like nails on the chalkboard. This morning in the paper, the Democrats unveiled their budget dreams for this session. More of the same, plus some new programs involving new spending. What about the old spending which has been eliminated? Not a word. What about cutting back on the size of state government? Again, silence is golden.

I know there is a deep philosophical divide between the conservatives and progressives. That being said, the other side cannot be that stupid. They really can't be. With just days left until our punitive taxes are due, the Democrats have the chutzpah to come out with more spending? Are you kidding me!!!!

Besides all of which, wages have been fairly stagnant for many of our citizens. So what they are telling us is this. Even though few will see a raise this year, the State of Minnesota deserves one. What planet do Democrats live on? People who live on this planet are hurting.

For the life of me, I don't understand why some programs are so hard to kill. Even if they did at one time serve a purpose, everything in life has an alpha and an omega. The problem is many programs never do serve a constructive purpose. That being the case, they still develop "champions" who keep them alive long after they should have been put to sleep.

I also did not read a single word on how the Democrats are going to fix taxing our senior citizens social security. Or our retired veterans pensions. In confidence, Democrats will tell you they can't afford to fix it. Like it is their money. Well guess what Democrats? You have people in your party who are also getting screwed by being taxed on social security and veterans benefits.

Democrats, you can take your "new spending" and show it the door. Or stick it ...never mind. We don't want it. Understand? Na-da. Start earning your pay by controlling this beast - not feeding it more money.
