Taking on water...

"I am going to say this with the Speaker's permission. Minnesota is turning into a 'progressive petri dish' under DFL rule."

It has been said when a ship starts to sink it takes on water. Sometimes it is a slow leak that takes a while to cause damage, and sometimes (like with the Titanic) the end can come quickly. Our ship, the state we live in, is taking on water. And it is something much more serious than a slow leak. The seriousness of this leak has recently been discovered and reported to the captain (that be our goofy Governor). His response? Damn the leak! Full speed ahead!

We had the Speaker of our State House address our Liberty meeting last night. He came directly from St. Paul and was armed to the teeth with current data and information. One of the things he talked about was the shrinking surplus left over from last year. He talked about why it is shrinking. Why it is the "canary in the coal mine" for a big, big problem for this state. Our revenues are shrinking. And the reason for that has been totally rejected by the Governor.

Two years ago when the Governor and the DFL passed the massive tax increase which decimated people in higher income brackets, it set in motion an exodus. This state is losing seniors due to an unjust and unfair tax on Social Security; it is losing veterans due to an unjust and unfair tax on retirement pensions; it is losing high income workers due to an almost 10% income tax; and it is losing young people who are seeing the handwriting on the wall for their futures.

In short, we are becoming the California of the north. Whereas Governor "Head in the Sand" is saying the only reason people are leaving his beloved state is to go to warmer climates, the data says otherwise. About 25% of the people leaving are senior citizens. And by the way, many are going to Wisconsin and South Dakota. Warmer climates? The other 75% represents the our state's "brain drain". We are starting to lose our best and brightest.

I am going to say this with the Speaker's permission. Minnesota is turning into a "progressive petri dish" under DFL rule. There is even a strain of thought this exodus might be intentional. Get rid of all the seniors. Get rid of people that lean right. Let Minnesota really devolve into a madhouse of spending and debt.

To fix Minnesota, to really save this state, it is going to involve some major surgery. The DFL needs to be cut out of government. Why? Because they can't govern. It is not a skill set of theirs. Most of them either flunked math or got a "D" in logic. This next election, we need not only to retain the House and add members, we also need to take back the Senate. Then in two years, we need to retire our statist Governor to whatever retirement home with take him.

The time is short and the stakes could not be higher. Our ship can be saved, but we need to have all hands on deck to help bail. If the DFL stays in control after November, all hands are then invited to bail out instead of bail. I know I will.
